R&A Cycles of Walnut Creek

My long time bike mechanic retired and I was in a fret of where to turn for a new group set installation. I gave R&A a go and was so pleased. Everything was done professionally and with great attention to detail. My Moots now has a brand new drive train and all is good with life again. Thanks guys. You are the best.

I experienced terrific customer service when I brought in my bike for service. I had a pair of kooky handlebars to replace the (boring) standard issue bars that came with the bike, that had caused other bike shops to shy away from accepting the project. Other bike shops even tried to convince me that it couldn't be done or that I wouldn't like it. Boy did those other guys put their foot in their mouth. R&A demonstrated that Impossible Is Nothing and Just Did It. They even went above and beyond by ringing up the manufacturer of the bars to make sure their installation was by the book. And the price was incredibly reasonable! Thanks to Andy and the crew! R&A is a shoe-in for your next tricky mechanical bike project.

Andy and his team took great care of me with a great deal on a high end bike. He and his team have given me great advice on riding and gear since the purchase which is why I continue to drive 40min (each way) to buy from them and spend time in the great space they have created.

Fantastic experience all around. I purchased my first TT bike through R&A after working with their fitter to get the sizing nailed down. The staff was professional, patient, and answered all my questions along the way (including recommendations for new shoes). The shop is also gorgeous. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

I found the absolute best price for the components I was looking for from R&A Cycles, and received the items in record time via FedEx 2 day shipping and received excellent support when I needed it. Highly recommended.

After contacting dozens of shops in the Bay Area and being turned down to have a clear matte ride wrap protection installed on the fork of my bike, R&A Cycles offered to get it done. Turned out nice with little to no bubbles which cleared once I left the bike exposed to some sun. Great customer service, knowledgeable/experienced staff/riders, quick turn around on service and facility is state of the art. This place is like a Toys”R”Us for everything bikes.

They guys are Pro's. I enjoyed their selections of Bikes WAY more than Hank and Frank! The service, the beer...the bikes.....the food!

My Dogma F had fractures in the seat stay frame area. Gethyn was able to walk me through my options. I was desperate in getting my bike back and have something to ride during the Thanksgiving Holiday, Gethyn and Andy Knickerbocker was able to get me going while I wait for the warranty work from Pinarello. The thoughtfulness and care for a rider was what customers were looking for. Thank you R & A team, both Zacs as well.

The VP Troy Morgan reached out and resolved the issue. The journey was not pleasant however happy the store held to their own price matching policy.

In terms of the technical service, Gethyn is amazing, took care of me back at Eden, and now here, he is the reason why I gave R&A Cycles another chance. 5 stars for Gethyn.

The general manager; Andy Knickerbocker - avoid doing business with him…I asked for a price match and store credit so I can spend more with R&A…he decided to be less flexible than the stores’ policy

The website clearly addresses price match and return policy, however the general manager creates his own unpublished policy…

From the general manager in an email to me about my request to match an online price after I spent $2,000+ in upgrades with my 1 year old bike…parts purchase was within 3 weeks and 2 months old;

“I understand that the language that our website uses for web-based sales is a bit vague. That will be addressed internally as we relaxed our web-based sales policies during COVID to benefit our customers.

Our in-store policies are discretionary, and I am very flexible on how those policies are applied.”

If you enjoy elitist, arrogant, condescending sales and service this is the place to go. Better spend your time and money elsewhere. We went to the store 3 times. Same result.

Very nice place! I didn’t buy anything, but everyone came to me at some point to say hi, and the selection of products was very high quality. Lots of good stuff. I’ll come back.

R&A Walnut Creek is simply awesome. Have had nothing but great experiences here, from saddle fittings to bike shopping and now bike shipment. The folks here are friendly experts, and generally excited to share their love of cycling. I’ve learned a lot just by chatting with their staff. The showroom is gorgeous. Grab a coffee at their cafe, browse the beautiful collection of bikes, and sign up for their newsletter so you can get in on group rides!

I brought my bike in on Bar Tape Tuesday, when they install bar tape for free if you purchase from the wide selection in the store. The mechanic installed the tape beautifully while I waited and browsed. What's R&A like? Imagine a bicycle emporium designed by Tiffany jewelers. Beautiful bicycles line the walls. High end components glisten on display, some in glass cases. Offerings include a small selection of high end bicycle apparel and a large variety of the best road and mountain bike shoes. In short, a very dangerous store. You could find yourself with less money, maybe a lot less, but, in that case, with a marvelous new bicycle.

Purchased my bike at R and A - which I love. Dimas provided a great fit for me. Customer service is awesome. Knowledgeable staff and I trust the mechanics here.

I'd like to share my great experience with R&A Cycles. It was my first visit to their shop in Walnut Creek. I corresponded with Andy prior to my service appointment for my Scott mountain bike. In this Shelter at Home time we are in, their procedures for our interaction were well prepared, professional and worked great. They took the time to evaluate my bike while I waited and offered advise moving forward. They clearly have a lot of experience with the brands they carry.

I'll also add their showroom is very cool. By far the most impressive cycling showroom I have been in and they clearly have an expertise in current cycling and mountain biking gear. Check them out! Thanks again to the team there.

Got a Cervelo S5 from them. Only shop in the bay area that had stock. Purchased online and picked up from the Walnut creek store. The store rivals luxury car dealerships. The salesperson was very helpful and took their time to walk me through all the details and fit me in for a perfect ride. They also tuned some stuff on the spot.

As if they read my mind, 11 months later, I get an email from them checking in on my experience with the bike and preemptively offering servicing options. I forgot to reach out to them about some tuning needs but this email got the process started.

R&A cycle definitely got a lifetime customer. Keep it up! Stellar service and wholeheartedly recommend this team to handle your next bike purchase.

I just got back from R&A Cycles, after a safety/check up for my brand new e-bike. Everyone was super nice and the bike mechanic explained things to me in a clear and straightforward way. I didn't feel judged for my entry-level online purchase or for being an older, casual rider (although I am clearly not their target customer).

I also appreciate their reasonable rates and the fact that they were willing to help me at all - many shops in the area wouldn't. My ride home was a blast and I feel confident now about riding around!

This is a wonderful store. They carry several hard-to-find, premium bike brands an display them beautifully. The staff is very warm and welcoming.

I wen in because I was shopping for a gravel bike, someone told everyone that they carried 3T, a brand that I was interested in. They do carry 3T, but I wound up with a gorgeous Open U.P.

Thanks to Andy, Moses, and Matias for all their help, and a shout out to master bike fitter, Arland Macasieb for getting me set up.

The shop is a little out of the way, but it is worth the effort to find it.

Was rolling through town on the way to the mountains and needed my gears looked at. Another shop determined the rear derailleur cable needed to be replaced, but was booked up solid bc COVID. The guys at R&A saw me and quickly did the work (including a new front tubeless tire). Very professional and service was top notch + great social distancing and a beautiful shop.
