MMTB - Movie Making Throughout the Bay! Inc.

MMTB is such a fun and unique place for hands-on movie set experience, both behind and in front of the camera! 😊 Elena has created a truly unique platform that is diverse, inclusive and respectful. Many long lasting friendships have been formed on MMTB's sets and events. Great learning opportunities, with people always willing to teach the newbies. Public health guidelines were strictly enforced to ensure everyone's safety. Also, she doesn't joke around with the food and snacks! The crew is always well fed! Highly recommended! 😉

Elena is awesome, my 3 daughters and I really enjoyed working with her. We had lots of fun with the rest of the crew. We met with other actors from around the Bay Area and filmed together. She gave us the opportunity and I am really grateful she did. Now we know a lot of actors and producers all around which some had given us a chance to be part of their films. It’s all volunteer work, not paid, but is an awesome place to start for your acting career, you learn how to improvise which makes it easier when you have an audition. I recommended this place, fun people to work with, thanks a lot Elena for the opportunity.

This organization is doing great work, teaching and showing budding actors, voiceovers, and others involved in the making of films, how things get done. Elena truly tries to engage teams in collaborative efforts to bring forth a finished film, and letting those involved share in the work and praise. She's tireless and very communicative. I'm glad I've had the opportunity to work with her on a couple of projects and learn a little bit about the film industry.

Elena Altman is incredibly passionate, personable, and talented. She is not only driven but also inclusive and friendly. She responds quickly to inquires left on the MMTB page, and makes every attempt to fully answer any questions. If you are a film student, a director learning the ropes, an actor seeking a community, or just want to learn more about indie film production through experience, MMTB is definitely worth checking out.

Under Elena's leadership, MMTB provides a terrific opportunity for people to explore and experience film making. To get any opportunity to experience film making is hugely difficult for many people. MMTB events, especially their "Film 'n A Day" events provide everybody with a good attitude that opportunity. I feel very lucky to have found MMTB and to have had those experiences.

P.s. I am skeptical that the people posting one-star reviews, with either zero explanation or with obviously bogus explanation, are even haters. My guess is that they are just little trolls whose biggest thrill comes, pathetically, from anonymously posting nasty reviews of things they know nothing about.

Elena was super helpful and accommodating when I filmed here for the 48 hour fest and Film in a day challenge. She truly helps the film community with all the awesome events she hosts and always work hard to make it a great experience!

MMTB is a great place to be at if you want to get knowledge and understand how the film industry works. There are many things to do from acting, lighting, videography, etc... See how things come together to understand the process and create some films whether they are others or your own. Just message Elena Altman which runs it. A great person to be around and also a good cook if you're in a week long production.

MMTB provides a series of unique opportunities. You can, for a very modest price, register, show up, and be part of a movie! You can be in one as an actor, you can help as crew, you can write, or with a little more effort and prep, you can direct. Fabulous experience. And your film will be shown in a theater!

MMTB offers several other kinds of opportunities as well including actors’ days to help build your acting reel, full length features, producers’ challenges, mixers, viewings, and several annual film festivals. I don’t know anywhere else in the Bay Area that offers these kinds of opportunities to everyone, actors, crew, writers, and directors alike. Especially well suited to beginners but plenty of opportunities for intermediate and advanced folks as well.

Elena Altman has worked hard over the years to put together a community of like minded filmmakers that are goal oriented in making films in the Bay Area. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Elena in joint Mixers in the past. She’s been very supportive in providing a location and help promoting what the Bay has to offer.

I have collaborated on MMTB projects several times for the last five years and it’s ALWAYS such a great and valuable experience.

This is a place where actors, producers, and Writers can practice their craft.

Mmtb is a fantastic filmmaking org and a great venue for your next event! Whether you're a filmmaking amateur or auteur, mmtb hosts regular filmmaking events to practice your craft. Also, mmtb's Rodeo, CA facility hosted a writer's workshop recently for authors and the waterfront location served as the perfect, placid backdrop for inspiration.

I've been participating for about a year and a half, and love it! It's truly amazing that a group of people can come together and in a few hours create a movie from scratch. It's also a great opportunity to meet other interested in making movies :)
