La Chona

A local shop owner mentioned La Chona for a bite to eat while we were in the area.

The food was great, traditional Mexican dishes. We came in for lunch on a Saturday. There was a fair amount of seating available to pick from.

We had the super burrito, a steak quesadilla, and quesabirra. They had a lamb or beef option for the birra, and my husband got one of each. He mentioned it was a lot of meat in each, and that they could have used a bit more cheese.

Limited parking.

First and foremost this is a working class paisa establishment. This is the type of place you come for the food, for the handmade tortillas and birria after a long night out or if you want to bring your jefes on Sunday morning to remind them of the rancho. The birria tacos are amazing, I suggest the borrego and accompany it with a 500ml Coca or Michelada and make sure you tip well. Also be aware if you park in the back of the restaurant you're going to have a hard time getting out try to park close by on the street.

Real authentic Mexican food! Molcajetes are the best!! And their michelada!!

Always GOOD FOOD .BUT NEED MORE BETTER CUSTUMER SERVICE TO QUIET .THE OWNER NEEDS TO UPDATE THE TABLES OR THE PLACE LOOK AND THE WAITRESS THERE NOT EVEN MEXICAN .THERE FROM SENTRAL AMERICA .WHO NOWS FROM WHERE .BUT IF A RESTAURANT IS MEXICAN WE NEED REAL MEXICAN PERSONAL

I love this place. Real Mexican food. Not watered-down American swill. They make fresh tortillas in the mornings so early mornings are best. Also one of the best quesabirria con consomme I have ever had.

My grandfather loves this place and he's always invited me here to eat and I can see why! Great food & a great atmosphere. The in house made tortillas are what take the dishes to the next level!!

The food is very good... We are here like 4 times a week i do cook at home but food is good my boyfriend likes to sit here for hours to drink lol...

Tight area but they make it work food is absolutely amazing and big for the price the overall price is cheap especially for a big party of 9 thats loves to eat.
