Chop Chop Restaurant

I came here on my lunch break with a coworker last week. I didn't even know the place existed and I feel really bad because I'm always looking for a good Chinese food spot. I ordered the Mongolian beef and fried rice. It was so good! The best I've ever had! I only ate half of the portion I was given and ate the rest for dinner that night. It was so good that I brought my wife back two days later and she absolutely loved it also! It's so sad that they're going to be closing the doors in less than 2 months. The prices are extremely decent and the portions are abundantly large. I wish they could continue to carry on the tradition of providing great service to the community. This is a gem that is definitely going to be missed.

Our favorite place in Oakley shut down so I thought I would give this a shot. I was pleasantly surprised, first off the prices are as cheap as you are going to find for pretty much any food in the area and the portions are absurd……like you will have lunch, dinner and lunch again. We had the Mongolian beef and the eggplant beef with hot and sour soup. All were great.

Now listen, the ambience is lacking a bit and it is in old Antioch but honestly if you picked up and set this place in China Town, SF….quadrupled the price, cut the portions down by 3/4 you would have Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey raving and hosting an annoying cooking show from their kitchen.

It was first time trying the restaurant. It was so good. You get way more food than what you expect!
I heard that they were closing the restaurant soon. We are so regret that we just had discovered the place.
Those small local businesses should keep their doors open with more supports…

Update: The place is closing for good in three months. My family were so sad to hear about it from the owner as this place is our favorite Chinese go to in the area. We are going to support the restaurant until it close. If you love them, I suggest to do the same thing. I'm sure we are going to miss their food.

Past:
Some people are complaining about their fried rice but for me its one of my favorite (beef). The smoky flavor gives me the nostalgic vibe plus its loaded with beef. They give big portion so I think the price hike is still worth it.

I have been going here for over eight years. Great local business, it’s been the same guys all these years. The food is always great and they definitely don’t skimp on the portions. Thanks for years of awesome food!

I love this place, good food, thee best egg rolls ,and oyster beef you can ask for, and enough to feed at least 2 people.

Every time I go in I am treated like a first-rate customer he is very nice and very welcoming and the portions are very large. This is definitely the place to be for great food.

I don't know what "authentic" Chinese food is like, but as far as the typical food you find in the states, this place is really good. Food was good and the service was friendly! I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so to me the meal was like a dessert (the orange chicken tasted like a donut was wrapped around it) but all of the family enjoyed the food. So it was a fun treat to eat for a special occasion.

Been going here for the last 10 years plus.. And we'll go here for as long as hes there hes a hes a very good guy makes great food and gives you so much food you think what is going on.. I can't explain to you how much he piles the food on thick the flavors delicious everything about This Chinese spot is the best in Antioch and surrounding cities for sure.. It is a must try the dry fried ribs Or the meal on the erase board the green onions and and beef And the general sow chicken is the best

Best Chinese I've had in a long time! They're comparable to city Chinese food. Always hot, fresh and hella big portions. Definitely recommend the general chicken, bbq pork chow mein and mandarin chicken.

Love Chop Chop! Giant portions made to order fresh chinese food at reasonable prices...what more can you ask for? I go here quite a bit and everything I've ever ordered is delicious. Seriously, you can feed 3 people off 1, yes 1, combination plate.

The best food! Large portions of fresh, yummy food. The owners are the nicest people. I love the beef chow fun, potstickers, fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken....i have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered.

My husband and I love this place. Now we moved from Antioch, live in Concord but any time when we go through the town always stop by order some of our favorite dishes. Whole in the wall but best Chinese food!

By far my favorite restaurant to frequent for chinese! I have been a customer here for 10+ years and have tried almost everything on the menu and let me tell you, i have NEVER been dissapointed! Family owned and run, massive food portions, great prices, and daily lunch specials.

This one of my favorite places to get chinese food! Great prices and taste good, on to top of all this they give you ridiculous amounts of food. I highly recommend Chop Chop OTW home from a long BART ride and I try to tell fellow passengers. Call in your order and you're in and out!

My family and I have been coming to this place for years and it's the only place we go to eat Chinese food . They have a lot of great food to choose from on their menu.. and there prices are not high at all . Great place to go for Chinese food. The place it self is kinda small. But the portions of food you get at an affordable price is huge compared to other Chinese food place. It's well worth it.

This is the Only, and I mean Only Chinese food place I will eat. Being a Bay Area native - and having access to some of the best foods in Oakland, SF, Berkeley, Cincird etc...coming to East Contra Costa County was a really tough transition especially for me "food" speaking. I kept reading the reviews for this place and salivating from all of the photos posted so I had to try this place.

I love this place. I’m sorry that they’re gone. I probably will never find a Chinese place like this ever again.
