A must see in our backyard. There is something here for everyone, and I am not exaggerating. There is boating and fishing; plenty of walking trails, open spaces, and picnic grounds. Also, there is horseback riding. Until fairly recently, there was a swimming pool and access to a beach. My recent visit, the caretaker told us those areas were under construction, and not accessible. Disappointed that we couldn’t visit those areas on my 10/01/23. We enjoyed everything else. The Park is peaceful, majestic, beautiful, and well maintained; and it’s accessible for those needing it. Plus, there is plenty of parking.

It's so nice! I haven't been there in a long time. We celebrated my brother's in-laws birthday party there, and it was almost empty. Lots of empty picnic tables to choose from. Quite relaxing 😌

A hidden gem amongst all the regional parks in East bay. We were pleasantly surprised after visiting this beautiful hiking trail. Amazing views engulfed by sloping greenery all around. The park entrance is $5 for autos to access the pool and views of the reservoir. Restrooms and ample number of picnic tables available all over the place. Will come back again for sure!!

Amazing park for the family. It has great walking trails for those that love to walk. In the summer they have the pool accessible w/ lifeguards for public for small admission fee. Inside pool area there is a lawn area with canopy’s for shade. It also has a sand area for little kids, which is pretty cool. There is a fee to park. They do have public restrooms through out the park. Next to the pool area they have a concession stand for snacks during summer. If you plan having a big even they do offer reservations for tables. FYI in the summer it can get really hot here. Otherwise it’s a great park. Highly recommend.

Great place to go for a walk along the trail during the spring lots of cute baby animals to be seen. It’s a lovely park that’s maintained well for us to enjoy. Get out of town and come to the park — you’ll be happy to breath that fresh air!

Love love this place. The public pool is awesome although it's closed for 2023 summer for repairs. Such a peaceful and serene place

Really love going around the lake. It is so calm, serene and comforting especially when it’s not so windy. The views can be quite amazing as well along with some of the folks you may encounter.

I bought a season pass for unlimited enjoyment, but you can pay modest entrance fee daily also. I enjoy a leisurely paced walk along the trails. Lots of people walking/fishing and the scenery is gorgeous.

You probably have to look out for certain creatures but outside of that great place to walk! I saw people fishing, everyone was very friendly on the path. You can take some great photos out there! They have parking and rest stops.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE riding my bike around the reservoir. Sunrise and sunset are beautiful. Check out Loma Island for a great meditation spot, or go into the pool with the kids. 10/10

I was just here for a race, i saw some other hikers also. It's a pretty place. Lots of rolling hills, some shade areas. Lots of bathrooms, and they are clean and stocked really well. It looks different than the other easy bay parks, just organization seems different, but good. Great views of the surrounding areas. 5 stars for the bathrooms, views are nice bit not spectacular, good to see once or twice, if you're into hiking, this is a great spot. I didn't notice barbecues, but i think i saw a couple. It's a good place, check it out if you are in the area.

I really like this place the regional Park staff is friendly, lots of dog walkers I've brought my dog here for a walk around the entire park, they allow fishing, they have a seasonal swimming pool, etc. Despite what they have it's a nice place to go to and relax, do work, play with your dog on a leash of course, bring kids or little siblings to play with their bikes. Just all around a good place to go to!

God I love this place. It's great for dogs and fishing. There are trails that go all the way to Black Diamond Mines & Believe It OR Not. There's a trail that takes you all the way to Mt. Diablo and all the way to Camp Arroyo in Livermore. Man The Memories from Summer Camp. Great Place For Hiking, Day Hikes, Backpacking, Fishing, Family Pick nicks & much more

Great place to walk in the early morning. I haven't been in over a month or 2. Got to see some beautiful birds and get some great pictures. Few people were out fishing for bass.

The park is so beautiful. We did the short walk around the lake, 3.25 miles. The views made the walk easy. However, there are more challenging walks and a variety of trails to take. I loved it.

Nice trail for everyone including younger walkers. Mostly flat but areas without pavement. Very pretty during spring while everything is green. Loop from baseball fields is about 2.75 miles. Not a lot of tree cover on the trail so bring your sunglasses. Overall, enjoyed the walk!

The park is beautiful, especially during the week when it is quiet. I wish the pool was open during the week. It gets hot in Contra Costa in spring and fall.

I love the trails here! There are some trails that take you up and down the hills and then there are trails that are pretty flat and easy to navigate.

Most people you pass on the trails are friendly and will greet you. Most cyclists will ring their bell or yell out that they are coming up behind you.

There are several picnic areas Most with BBQ pits. There is also a beach volleyball court and a pool. It does cost to get into the pool are and it is only open during the summer months. I did not look to see how much it cost to get in.

The views from the top of the hills are breath taking! On a clear day you can see the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you have really good eye sight and look north east you can see some of the sky scrapers of Sacramento (about 100 miles away) and if you look east you can see some of the buildings in Stockton (not quite the sane distance as Sac but about 70-80 miles away)

I enjoy going around sun up or sun down. The way the sun light sends streams of light through the rolling hills of the Black Diamond mines with the butterflies and other little critters buzzing around is Amazing! There can be cattle grazing in the area from time to time but they are pretty used to the hikers and may or may not move out of the way when you're going along on a trail. Just be careful when passing. More people die from be8ng trampled by cattle every year than from shark attacks! You can also find wild turkeys roaming the hills. Most times they keep to themselves however every once in a while (usually during mating season they might pick a fight with a passerby if they think you are competition. Hahaha!)

I must warn! Spring the spring the snakes wake up from hibernation and start coming out and about. Now I have lived in Antioch for 20 years now and have only encountered a baby rattler once while on a walk! So they typically stay off the trails so do your part and stay on the trails!!! Wear proper hiking boots and watch where you step! When you get to a picnic area make sure to enspect the table and surrounding area before bringing children into the area and before setting up for a fun day.

Overall Contra Loma is a really nice place to go for a hike, a cycle, picnic or a swim (in the pool, swimming is not permitted in the lake). I highly recommend going for an afternoon or early morning hike. Avoid going on holidays as the park will be PACKED! And every trail will be crowded.
