Higgins Mortuary

My mother passed away and I was really out of it. Gema was my main contact at Higgins. She and everyone else were amazing, patient and took care of everything. I was more than impressed with the process and how they set everything up, kept me up to date at every stage and were so patient and empathetic. They even have an option of streaming and recording the service which was great since a lot of my family and friends are out of state. My mother would have loved the service and they made everything easy.

I was very satisfied with the staff at higgins chapel.
Mila was the person who helped me with my brothers cremation explaining and helping me every step of the way.
She even called to see how we were doing and giving updates.
Mila is very caring and understanding through this difficult time.

During emotional and difficult times such as the time when one loses a husband of 49+ years, one needs to have at its side a caring and compassionate person to work with.

My family and I found this person with Mila. She was diligent, knowledgeable, efficient but most importantly she had just the right word to help one go through the whole process of having to say goodbye to a loved one.

We will be forever grateful to Mila and her colleagues who were there for us when we needed them.

Vincente was great walking me through my options. At no time did I ever feel pressured to take one open over another.
The only negative is that it seems to be taking a long time to my being able to bring my wife home.

My mother had cancer and I could see her transition coming, I was scare and needed help. I called Higgins only to obtain information just so I could be prepared. The gentleman did a zoom meeting with me and explained what would be needed and gave estimates. He was patient, kind and very understanding. My mom died about two days later at home and the body was released to me by the coroner. I didn’t know what to do so I called the gentleman I did the zoom call with and he helped me through it. Higgins picked up my mom family walked through the door and they paused and let them view the body. I was in need and Higgins was therefore me. The support Higgins gave me was exceptional and they even contacted me just to ask how I was doing emotionally. In times like these you need diligence, warmth, comfort, professionalism, understanding and a listening ear and I found that with Higgins Chapel.

So blessed to have had my fathers service here. These moments are never easy and not something you look forward too. However they took all The stress away , they made everything so easy and re assured us in everything and anything we had doubt in . My father was treated with so much delicacy and love . Thank you to all of your staff from the young men that picked my father up at the hospital, to Suzanna and everyone God bless you guys .

We had our brothers service at Higgins Chapel and Mila Valdivia was our coordinator. She was very helpful along with the other staff members. They were very comforting and made sure that our 2 day service went smoothly. Mila and Vicente drove our brother to Oak View and explained the process to us. Allowed our family to have a prayer service. Even the gentleman who guided us inside to witness the final step was very thorough in explaining the steps and offered words of encouragement. They all made this arrangement smoother for me and my family and I am grateful to them for all they did. Mila was my last contact when I went to pick up my brother and still she was comforting me with her words and her presence. Thank you.

Sadly this is the second time I’ve had to use Higgins within a couple of years. Thankfully my first experience with them made it an easy choice the second time around. Mila is a sweet thoughtful guide she listened to my requests and did her best to assist. As we had no prior preparations for our loved ones value of service was on top of the list. They offered various options to suit our financial need. Most importantly the care to details was also given.

Mila and her team were so good. Very professional and even went the extra mile and called and checked on me several times. I appreciate the care and concern they displayed through our experience there.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

Although a difficult time, appreciated the attention received by Higgin Chapel. They guided me through the entire process and were most helpful the day of the burial with taking care of every detail along with having staff readily available.

Very satisfied with Higgins service. Worked with Mila and she was excellent in assisting with arrangements and suggestions for both my father and my mother at 1.5 years passing interval. I would definitely recommend Higgins Chapel to those needing funeral services.

This review is long overdue, but I have to give credit to where it’s due. My father passed away in March of 2021 and Higgins provided exceptional service to my family and I. I have to highlight one in particular though and that’s the beautiful Mila! I don’t even have the words to adequately describe the kindness that was shown during an extremely difficult time. Mila was not only kind, but extremely patient, compassionate and considerate. Covid was still at an all time high and sadly we could only allow 12-15 family members to view my father’s body. Such a heartbreaking and frustrating time for Everyone, but mila handled everything with class! I want to also highlight the makeup artist. I don’t remember his name, but my last wish was that my Dad looked as natural as possible. As I viewed my dad for the last time, he looked as if he was just sleeping. That was a huge sigh of relief! Again Mila, you were such a blessing! And you still check in on me occasionally. Higgins is lucky to have you!

Lindsey was very professional, showed us what was available and answered all of our questions. The funeral ran smoothly, and I would like to thank her for making a very
stressful day, a little less stressful. Thank you Lindsey.

Higgins Chapel was extremely helpful during a very sad, stressful time. Susana was very polite, patient and explained everything to me in detail so that I would understand the process during this difficult time for my family and I. My father was cremated, so she also let me know his whereabouts at all times (Higgins Chapel, crematorium, back to Higgins) I think the most touching part of it all, is when I went to pick up my dads ashes. They had a viewing set up with his urn, candles and beautiful music playing. It was honestly just what I needed at that time. Thank you to Higgins Chapel, and Susana! God Bless

Higgins Chapel provided their services for my mom’s memorial. I was very pleased with how Marissa handled everything for me. The staff members were very helpful and patient, while accommodating me. I loved the tribute wall of my beautiful mom on their website. They also provided online streaming of her memorial for people who couldn’t attend. Everyone expressed how beautiful the service was. Marissa even surprised me with a beautiful slide show of mom. I would definitely recommend them...

Higgins Chapel helped our family get through a very difficult time. Our father passed a few days before Christmas 2020 from COVID. It was a hard time but Marissa at Higgins was very sweet, always available and walked us through each step along the way. I’m very thankful for her kindness each time we talked. The compassions from Marissa and everyone at Higgins comes out whenever you call. I would highly recommend them.

The service they provided exceeded our expectations. They handled everything in a professional manner always considering the fact that losing a loved one is a deeply personal, emotional, and intimate experience for the bereaved family. They covered all the important aspects and are always there to provide information, answer questions, and help you make the right decisions during this difficult time. Also, through their live-streaming service, we were able to share the viewing and religious service (officiated by Father Robert of St. Ignatius of Antioch church) to our relatives in the Philippines in real time. It was also recorded so we could access it anytime. They treated my mom’s remains with the highest respect the way families would want to honor a loved one who passed away. The most special and emotional moment for me was when we came to receive the urn containing my mom’s remains. That was the most solemn moment….
