This shop takes EBT for food purchases, and they have a huge stock of legumes and grains for cooking like lentils, split peas, millet, beans, and rice, as well as a good stock of spices. I bought a pack of ready-to-heat curry from them and they were polite and helpful.

Definitely one of the places I intend to add to my grocery shopping places.

I was introduced to Indian foods over the span of 10. One of my favorite it a dosa, especially because traditionally, they are gluten-free. I tried making my own, but it was too time-consuming. I went into this store hoping to find a dosa batter mix or the preground flours needed. I found both large and medium-sized bags of different flours (gluten-free) and an already mixed dosa batter in their fridge. I made aloo masala dosas for my family in 20 minutes, and they were so tasty! The batter lasted about a week and I made dosas for 3 days. The clerk was kind and helpful and gave a greeting and attention immediately.

As a white man whose palette is often overwhelmed by even the spiciness of Mayonnaise this place has the best spices and ingredients for Indian and south Asian cuisine from the classics like Garam Masala to fresh baked goods. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly as well. Next time you want to really blow away your next dinner party with flavors that aren’t going to be in every knockoff pre mixed curry look no further. These folks will treat you right.

Amazing food ,the samosas were delicious and the mango lassi was outstanding , they were super friendly and kind will defenetly be coming once a week for the samosas ,Definitely recommend coming here if you live in Bakersfield

Great customer service. The guy at the counter was very humble and responded to the calls. The food was delicious. Especially papdi chaat was amazing it reminded me of home.

I like there and one other India stores samosas must try. They serve bhutura, poori, samosa, and chaat very reasonable price compared to other Indian shops. Plus I am able to buy my lentils and spices and vegetable needed to cook my vegetarian food.

It was my first time to visit this place today. Very helpful and kind staff for the gentleman who had a smiling face. Will be visiting again !!!!

The only place in Bakersfield I support for my Indian Sweets and Spices. Their carrot Burfi is the best. Its always kept clean although the outside of the location looks old and unkempt. If you're in a large truck, be prepared to look for other parking down the street. The parking spaces and lot are/is very small. But it's absolutely worth it. I'm a crazy white girl that loves Indian cuisine and sweets and I can always count on them to have what I need. They're amazing people and I hope you give them a chance, no matter what the neighborhood or outside of their establishment looks like. Don't judge a book by its cover. Totally worth your while. Holes in the wall are more often than not, are the places you want to be.

I'm not Indian, so I lack the language skills to read and understand all of the products they sell, yet they take the time to patiently explain what the different foods are. I usually go on Sunday because they make saag. It is FANTASTIC. I'm afraid to say what is in it because of my poor language skills, but Google it and them buy it. My kids love the mango lasse (sp?), and this is my go-to store for dry goods like beans, peas, and flour. Some of the foods are very spicy, so use caution. Some of the prices are ridiculously low, but true - I buy whole peas here for less than a penny a plant instead of buying seed packets.

Excellent selection of any and all Indian spices and foods. Plus a really impressive array of pastries I assume made in-house. The clerks were attentive and very helpful. Would highly recommend. Also, I doubt you'll find a better place to purchase Ghee in bulk.

The samosas are bomb! They serve vegetarian Indian cuisine in this little store. The shelves are chock full of spices and other ingredients. I also love their sweets.

I was referred to this place by my boss! The samosas are sooooo good and they make them fresh! They also have a ton of items in the store to make Your fav homemade Indian cuisine at home! Especially, while we are all at home quarantined! I will definitely be back!

The owner was a very nice gentleman. The prices are reasonable. Bought some red beans they were fresh and four pounds $5 cause less than what I buy two pounds for at the grocery store @$1.50+/lbs.

This family run business serves a few Indoan specialties like chana, lassie, and samosa. It is fun to watch Indian TV while eating in the cafe. There is a wide variety of spices, fresh vegetables, packaged Indian foods and fresh sweets. We enjoy talking to the owner. We have going there for 15 years.

We go here to buy gulab jamun idk if that’s spelled right. Spell check didn’t even try to help me out. I love the pastries here. We usually end up with a box full and half the box makes it home to share. There is lots of other grocery type products here but we mainly go for the desserts.

Great food (as previously mentioned, their samosas are good) & friendly service every time.
