What a fantastic wine tasting experience at Sojourn Cellars today. Located right in the heart of Sonoma, just off the square. Lisa’s gracious hospitality and warm welcome made us feel right at home. Their wine portfolio is expansive; from brut sparkling, through still rosé and Sonoma Coast chardonnay, opulent Pinot Noirs and Cabs, concluding the tasting with an exceptional vintage of Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Beautifully balanced wines with a soft touch and just a whisper of oak. Lisa took fabulous care of us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, including farewell photos of our group. I can’t wait to return. Cheers! 🥂

My husband and I had an AMAZING wine tasting experience at Sojourn. Tracy was our host and she was fabulous - she was so knowledgeable and had an awesome sense of humor. We were visiting Sonoma for our anniversary and Tracy made us feel extra special during our tasting. The wine was fabulous, too! Highly recommend.

Walked in on Dec. 18/2023. The woman who did our tasting was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable. I think her name was Theresa. The wine was good as well.

I have purchased wine for myself several times for myself and was very pleased with the excellent wine quality. Subsequently, I ordered gifts for friends and colleagues on special occasions, shipping all over the US. It always worked well until a Christmas gift 2022 was delivered to the wrong place. The actual recipient never received the package and whoever received it obviously enjoyed a windfall of very fine wine! I contacted customer service and they were just wonderful, immediately resending a package, which was this time delivered into the right hands. The customer service is really excellent at Sojourn Cellars. They are always friendly and do exactly what they promise. I can't compliment them enough. The way they handled this situation makes me a long term customer for sure. Did I mention that the wine itself is superb?

Located near the town square in Sonoma in a little white house sits the tasting room for Sojourn Cellars. Prior to our visit I had only tasted their Oakville Cabernet and was impressed enough to book a tasting for four. It was raining (yes raining) on the day we tasted, so on arrival we needed to rush from the parking lot to the tasting room. A little damp we were escorted to our table and told our wine educator, Christine would be out in a moment to begin our tasting. Christine arrives and introduces herself as coming from the Paso Robles wine region. We tell her we love that area and she asked us what is our favorite winery? Without hesitation I say "Epoch" and she remembers serving us during our visit in 2021 (see my review on Epoch). We find this outstanding as she notes what table we sat at and also what wines we liked. That is a talent! Christine introduced us to the Sojourn portfolio which included Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon all representing different vineyards. The wines presented were gorgeous and our time with Christine very educating. My favorite wines were the Oakville Cabernet and Durell Chardonnay in which I purchased to go. My sister-in-law was so impressed she joined the wine club. We visit many wineries each year and Sojourn is definitely a standout. Worth a visit? It is 5 stars in my book.

Five of us had a wonderful time at Sojourn Cellars today. Lisa was an incredible host and teacher. We really enjoyed learning about the different growing regions in the area, not to mention tasting the delicious wines. Thank you, Lisa!

Despite all things COVID-19, we had a wonderful tasting experience here. They had the table set up outside, ready to go (even with hand sanitizer!). Our concierge Lisa was incredibly nice and knowledgeable; a great conversationalist! We tasted 3 of their delicious Pinot Noir offerings, a Chardonnay, and one of their amazing Cabernet Sauvignons. The experience, and the quality of the wine, was so incredible, I ended up becoming a member of their club. Looking forward to enjoying more of their wines, in the years to come. Thanks Sojourn!

Very nice place. Very quiet and intimate. Christine was cool as a fan and gave us the porch pounder saying to take with us. She really made it amazing and worth the visit. My wife and I are definitely coming back. I am so happy to see good people and to have experienced this with them. Thank you so much. You are going places Christine!!!!!!!!! Sojourn wine is just good. Rose all the way!!!!!

Great wine, great tasting. Lisa was our host today, and she did a GREAT job. Enjoyed the wine and the experience, ended up purchasing 6 bottles and joining the club. Would recommend if you like Pinot. The make other wines but the Pinot was our favorite. Very small tasting room, reservation only. So it is a very personal experience.

Update: we have been back 3 times since our original visit. Every time has been great, and wine is constantly good.

Note that this is not a winery on a vineyard. Sojourn (pronounced SO-jern) Cellars is a boutique in downtown Sonoma. If you’re looking for the beautiful vineyard experience, this ain’t it. If that’s not that important to you, then this is a great option for wine tasting!

We called ahead to make reservations for a party of 2. They had availability the next day. We were 1 of 2 parties at our 11:30 am tasting on a Thursday. It was a very intimate experience. Jennifer was our sommelier and she did a great job of tailoring her explanations to our level of understanding of wine (which is not very high). The tasting was $35 per person. You pay ahead of time.

She asked us to take a look at the menu and see if we were okay with all the types of wine they were offering. If we didn’t want chardonnay, she would’ve given us a different pinot noir. Very nice touch. We decided to keep the menu as is though. We liked all of the wines we tasted! The pours aren’t very generous though.

She didn’t pressure us to buy any bottles at all. It’s not expected, but a $10 tip is appreciated, especially if you’re not buying any bottles.

It was a good experience and certainly cheaper than other wineries.

We enjoy the smaller boutique/ family owned wineries. Sojourn Cellars was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Napa.
I contacted Amanda with Sojourn Cellars last week to reserve a private tasting. She went out of her way to get our party of 4 scheduled on the day and time that we requested. She guided us through a wonderful tasting and was so knowledgeable about Sojourn Cellars and their lovely wines. She was also great about tips on places to go/see in the Napa/Sonoma area. We all agreed it couldn't have been a better experience.

We enthusiastically give Amanda and Sojourn a five star rating. Try Sojourn Cellars for a wonderful private wine tasting experience. You won't be disappointed!

Been to Sojourn Cellars a few times and everytime it is a great place for a tasting. The wine is fantastic and the presentation is super nice relaxing and fun. The staff is always first class and the shipping is always done as requested. Some of the best wine we have had has come from Sojourn Cellars. We are not big on white so they work with us and let us try more Pino and Cab vs having to try the whites. Location is super cool in a house in downtown Sonoma. We make this a go to on our list every time we are in the region.

If you are a Pinot Noir fan, Sojourn Cellars is for you. Here you get to sit down in their intimate and cozy wine tasting salon in downtown Sonoma and do a side by side comparison of several different Pinots. Many of which are single vineyard designates. We also taste Chardonnay from Sonoma, cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, a rose and a sparkling brut. All delicious!

Sojourn doesn't produce that much wine... I think only about 10,000 cases. Get it while the getting is good. My personal faves are the Sangiacomo Vineyard, Reuling Vineyard and Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir wines. For Chardonnay the Reuling Vineyard and Cabernet Sauvignon the Stagecoach Vineyard and Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III. You must make reservations to taste here. We walked over from the El Dorado Hotel on the square. Perfect!

Had such a lovely experience at Sojourn! Our host was flexible with us as we weren’t able to schedule an appointment until 4:00, the time they typically close. Even then, we were running late because of traffic and she was so patient and never made us feel like we were imposing. Her knowledge of the wines was extensive. As she lead us through the tasting she taught us about the grapes, vineyards, and general area. Very intimate experience and well worth the $35 tasting fee. Highly recommend the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and the Rogers Creek Pinot Noir!

Very personal tasting experience. Our guide walked us through the history of the vineyards, their different characteristics, and how the differences played into the finished product. Some of the best Pinots in California!
