Jyan Isaac Bread

I stumbled upon this gem of a bakery in Santa Monica and was blown away by their offerings. The sourdough bread is a standout, with its crispy crust. Pair it with their specialty coffee for a perfect morning pick-me-up.

The artisan pastries are also a must-try. Each one is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. I especially loved the croissants, which were perfectly flaky and buttery.

The bakery also offers a variety of bagel sandwiches, which are great for a quick and satisfying meal. The ingredients are fresh and the combinations are delicious.

Overall, this bakery is a must-visit for anyone in Santa Monica. The quality of the bread, coffee, pastries, and sandwiches is top-notch, and the friendly staff make the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Loved it! Brought home a bunch of pastries - pain suisse, pain au chocolat, croissant, almond croissant, and chocolate chip cookie. All were delicious. Also got a half tomato on everything and it was awesome - well seasoned and excellent tomatoes and basil. Small space, and hard parking, but worth it! Next time I will buy a loaf for sure.

Our house - we’d get fresh bread everyday if we could !’ This was our second stop on a carb crawl adventure right next to Layla’s bagels! 🥯 it’s a little window where you order your bread . They also have sourdough bagels !! We ordered some fresh sourdough and they cut it for you too ! We had some this morning and mmmmmm it’s so good !! Soft on the inside with a crunch on the outside !

Ordered half of a tomato on onion and half a cucumber on everything. The bagels here are awesome. It is counter service with lots of outdoor seating. They also serve a variety of breads and you can watch the bakers make the bagels in the window and smell the fresh bread. You can get cold brew and drip coffee as well. It can be busy here though so be prepared to wait.

Absolutely the best bread. The seeded sourdough is the ultimate bread for brie grilled cheese, cheese boards when sliced and toasted or any sandwich for that matter. Their bagels and pasteries are also phenomenal. Worth.

A little gem on Ocean Park Boulevard. Attentive and friendly service at the little takeout window. Lots of bread options including bagels to appeal to the hordes of people who come for the bagel joint, a few doors down

Hands down the best bagel and lox I have ever had in my entire life. I’ve toured NYC eating my way though bagel shops. This bagel is by far my favorite. The ingredients are SO fresh. The dill. The tomatoes. The onions. Covered in high quality EVOO. Literally got it 2 days in a row it’s that good. Nearly spent $100 year already. That’s crazy for a bread shop. But absolutely worth it.

Sesame bagel and emmer sourdough loaf are yummy! The service is good too! Tried so many organic/ old fashion sourdough bakeries in CA, this is definitely my top three..:)

I’m not sure why there are mixed reviews about this place. I thought the service was good, the bread was great, and the negative reviews just had to be people having bad days. I got the City Loaf Sourdough and the Baguette. Both had a beautiful crust on the outside and a nice springy open crumb on both loaves. One of the reviews I saw talked about the lack of non-GMO flour… sorry, but the only other time I ever heard that was in a sentence staring with “For non-GMO flour this is good…” oh and this cultured butter is bomb!! So my boss saw this place on KTLA and as she is in Irvine I had to go and report back. Nice that I can have a great BLT for lunch.

Fantastic breads!!! The olive fougasse is next level and a work of art. It is delicious on its own and always disappears quickly once at home. The baguette was great and the perfect vessel for cured meats and soft cheeses. City loaf sourdough has a crunchy exterior and is super soft and fluffy-chewy on the inside. Could be a little bit tangy-er, but it's a great sourdough.

There is always a line. Even early in the morning. Even when it's raining. Good bread does that.

Work next door so always pass by and there is always a line. Hard to pick a favorite bagel between Layla and Jyan Isaac. Both are so good and amazing flavors. Jyan Isaac felt a bit lighter. Got the cucumber bagel sandwhich on everything. Seating outdoor only. Good spot for people watching and watching the bakers at work.

So everyone loves the city loaf and bagels here, but in my opinion the Marble Rye is the most underrated loaf on the menu. Amazing chew, wonderful crust, terrific flavor. Must try!

Jyan Isaac bread is truly sensational! It's full of flavor, chewy and fluffy. I highly recommend the seeded sourdough.

This is just a counter. You walk up and order and take away. You can often watch them making fresh bread in the window. The bread is excellent and artisan. They also carry high quality butter. Delicious.

Our personal favorites are the City Loaf Sourdough, the Cinnamon Raisin Brioche, and the Olive Fougasse, although lots of other great choices. The prices might seem high, but they are good sized loafs. The City Loaf Sourdough is wonderfully crusty but very soft inside, with a lovely taste. When our then 9 year old first tried some, he couldn't stop eating and asked "why doesn't other bread taste this good?" Winner! The line out the door says it all. Great bread!
