"Pastor of First Baptist Church of Venice 1955-1999" states the small, beige sign -- the only indication that this intersection was designated a public square in 2000.

Unfortunately, the transformation of an intersection into a public square ended there. Considerations for pedestrians are non-existent. There are no crosswalks, no trees, no public art, no stanchions providing more context about the bishop and church, no fountains, no benches... nothing.
