Los Angeles Fire Dept. Station 61

What a night…. My 17 month old fell off of her rocking horse and hit her face on our hardwood floor. She was bleeding so much that I had to call 911 because I was so concerned. 3 of the most amazing firefighters showed up first, they were such a calming presence and so incredible with my baby. They were full of compassion and passion for their work! I am so grateful to life only a couple blocks away from these ultimate hero’s.

These guys are the greatest! There was a house fire up the street from us today. The fire department quickly put out the fire, then noticed that the house next door was on fire from an ember! They raced in and put it out. They were super friendly to all the neighbors, even letting some small children hold a fire hose (after the fires were extinguished) and taking photos with the kids. They were very patient, answering our many questions about fire safety. They were at the scene for more than a few hours and their attention to every detail was impressive. These guys are modern day heroes! I thanked them and one of them said, "We get to help people and that makes it all worthwhile". Meeting them and seeing them in action turned LA a better place to be for me:)
