Dr. Berookim is amazing and so kind, I went 10+ years without a diagnosis. Other GI doctors and specialists basically told me there was no issue despite being in the ER twice yearly. Dr Berookim figured it out immediately, recommended the appropriate tests and assured me that it was not normal to be vomiting that often. He's got a great bedside manner, his office is kind and easy to schedule with. I've now been 3+ years with amazing results due to small tweaks and meds. Thanks to Dr. Berookim, I finally feel like myself again!

I booked a consult because I had been experiencing stomach discomfort, bloating and fatigue for several months. Dr. Berookim suggested some more comprehensive testing and a colonoscopy, which led to a quick diagnosis of my issue, and direction for treatment.

I was able to complete all of the tests within less than a week’s time. I have a tight travel schedule for work and the ability to complete these assessments in an accelerated manner while I had time off was super helpful for me!

My experience with Dr. Berookim himself was also incredible! He has a calm energy, is very knowledgeable and addressed all of my questions and concerns.

His office staff and procedural teams are also amazing, clearly reflecting his leadership. Lexus, one of his MAs was my main point of contact. She was highly responsive, able to address all my questions and went out of her way to help me navigate some pharmacy hold ups. His anaesthesiologist, pre-op and post op teams were also highly attentive and compassionate.

Working in healthcare myself, I’ve observed that it’s rare to be able to access and experience time with a busy physician and office in this way.

Needed to go for my first colonoscopy. Kept pushing it off... really stupid of course. But I finally just set it up. I had a great experience with Dr Berookim's office. Lexus and the other staff were timely, prompt and clear. Dr. Berookim is friendly and informative. I did the google thing and of course read all the horror stories... None of that with Dr Berookim. I just followed his instructions and it was a piece of cake.

A month later I sent my elderly parents to him. Highly recommended!

After my 2nd routine colonoscopy with Dr. Berookim, and after worrying about the procedure this time, I am assured once again that he is an excellent GI doctor. When he met with me prior to the procedure, he reviewed the procedure, answered my questions, and totally put me at ease. Dr. Berookim is by far the best doctor around. He takes his time with you and never makes you feel rushed. I drive over an hour to visit his practice and would honestly drive any distance for his level of service and care. His staff is also amazing, not once does a call or message go unanswered. I would recommend him to anyone that is experience any GI related issues, he is the one to go to!

Peyton Berookim is an excellent physician, and his practice is professionalism personified. Every step of my medical visit was pleasant from making the appointment to walking out with a follow up. I required a very minor procedure, and Dr. Berookim was with me in explaining the procedure and how he would follow up. Follow up was also very quick and over the phone once biopsies were obtained. He is also a great personality, and his staff is welcoming and kind, and his facilities are very modern. Overall, the experience with Dr. Berookim was very pleasant, and anyone would be happy to have him as their gastroenterologist.

The BEST!!!! Such a pleasant doctor, extremely knowledgeable and very open minded. Good listener and excellent bed side manner. The office was able to fit me in quickly as a new patient, which I am so grateful for because I was very sick. Dr. Berookim is an amazing doctor and is great with following up. I went to see Dr. Berookim a couple of months ago, after I developed a very challenging GI issue. I found him in Los Angeles magazine, where he was listed as one of the top 10 GI Doctors in LA. I then went on-line to read his reviews and was very impressed. Dr. Berookim definitely lived up to his impeccable reviews. He is an excellent diagnostician, and is also very personable and compassionate. He was extremely patient with my numerous questions, and was also very reassuring at a time when I was feeling vulnerable and anxious due to my GI issues. He was well versed in natural complementary treatments for my condition, which was an added bonus. His staff, Satmattie and Marielle, are very friendly and helpful. I am so grateful I found Dr. Berookim!

I have never written a review before but Dr. Berookim is such an amazing Dr. I felt I had to express my opinion. I have seen other gastrologists in the past but none compare to Dr. Berookim. He is so knowledgeable and does whatever is necessary to solve the problem. He is so kind and compassionate and he truly listens and takes whatever time is needed. I drive 190 miles round trip to see Dr. Berookim and it is worth every mile and more. If you need the best he is the one.

If it in the realm of possibilities to rave about having an endoscopy/colonoscopy this staff makes it easy! This staff; both office and surgical team, were outstanding. Courteous, professional, dotted every I and crossed ever t with empathy and a welcome touch of humor. Their concern for your comfort and privacy was beyond measure. I recently had a few procedures done. Dr Berookim is hands down one of the best most caring Doctors. He takes his time with patients and explains things clearly. He is skilled and extremely knowledgeable. Your in good hands with him.

Dr. Berookim is a class act. One of the best doctors you will find in Los Angeles. His commitment to his practice and his patients sets him above any other doctor I have seen. He's committed to making sure that I am always feeling the best that I can possibly be. His office staff is great and he's never rushing you out of his office. I can't say enough good things!

I have had a lot of doctors in my day and I can say with certainty that Dr. Berookim is one of the best. He actually cares. He took his time with our visit and helped me find the right in-network imaging center that my insurance helped me with, instead of just sending me to a hospital. We are talking about the difference between $900 and $5,000. But that was simply an added bonus. What really mattered was the effort he put into helping resolve my health problems. He'll always call you back, and he never let's you leave feeling as though you were rushed or insignificant. I would recommend him to anyone I know.

Dr. Berookim Has been my doctor for years. He’s very knowledgeable and caring. One of the many things I like is that he doesn’t prescribe medication, unless it’s absolutely necessary. He has help me keep healthy and fit over the years. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Berookim is not just a great GI doctor but a great doctor in general! I was referred to him from our family doctor and am thankful for that. Whether it's an acid reflux issue or something more complicated, Dr. Berookim is completely thorough and extremely knowledgeable. He takes the time to talk through everything and answer everything. He's jsut a normal, cool dude. Also, the staff there is good and professional as well. I can't recommend him and them enough! Pro Tip: park in the neighborhood behind the office at a meter.

I came to Dr. Berookim in dire straits, unable to swallow without excruciating pain. He quickly diagnosed the issue and even moved things around so I could have an immediate endoscopy. He was extremely knowledgable, helpful, thorough and reassuring during a scary time and I am profoundly grateful to him!

Dr. Berookim is an AMAZING doctor, and you'll never go wrong coming to him for any of your GI needs. I had an issue that was bothering me for over a year, with other doctors writing off my symptoms or unable/unwilling to dig in and figure it out.

When I changed primary care providers, my new doctor took the time to listen to me, and practically made my appointment with Dr. Berookim herself and shoved me out the door telling me he was the best, and he would find the problem and fix it.

He did. He was (and is) kind, detail oriented, professional, compassionate and a great diagnostician. One quick surgical procedure, and I'm good as new. That's a massive improvement given that I was having symptoms everyday prior to being treated by him.

This guy is the GI other doctors bring their family members to, and he should be. That says a lot. I grew up in the medical world, with both parents as medical providers out of state. I guess I have high expectations because I have seen and heard horror stories about various clinicians, in and out of town. Thankfully "my GI doctor" will never be among them, because his goal is to truly help his patients and be sensitive to their needs.

As an added bonus to being a highly competent doctor, he also has an amazing office staff who are friendly, on the ball regarding insurance and scheduling matters... and completely respectful of patients' time.

They run a tight ship over there as much as possible, and I've always been able to get in and out very quickly, except I don't feel rushed at all when it's my turn.

It is no exaggeration to say this doctor changed my life. I had constant GI problems (will spare the details) and gradually deteriorating health until, as of about 3 years ago, I was barely functional. It took everything I had just to work 6-8 hours a day, whereas I could pull 10-14 hours/day on a regular basis earlier in my career. Many other aspects of my life - relationships, hobbies etc. - took a similar beating. I saw at least 3 GI docs in the couple years leading up to Berookim, did tons of tests, got nowhere. I became despondent and very cynical about our health care system.

Well, we know how this ends. Last month was the best month of the last 3-4 years of my life because this doctor took the time to investigate and figure out what the heck is going on. I was particularly struck by his stern rejection of facile explanations that, while plausible, didn’t quite fit the facts. Every other doctor I’ve seen latched onto the first available thought (GERD, hiatal hernia, whatever), billed me and sent me on my way. Any doc can offer you answers, but Berookim is only interested in correct answers. If you’re suffering with chronic GI problems with no help from the standard mills and revolving door model of treatment, this is your guy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Berookim. I’m your patient for life. I wish I had found you sooner. Woulda saved me a lot of time.
