Delicious food! I think some of the dishes require calling ahead of time, such as the lotus leaf rice, 8 treasure duck (it’s stuffed with sticky rice, chestnuts, and some other stuff). I really enjoyed the garlic eggplant, the 8 treasure duck, and the chicken (white meat was moist and the skin very crispy.). The portions were generous. We also ordered pepper steak which was tender.

I stopped into this place on a whim, since I just happened to be in the area. Wow, did I hit the jackpot! This is the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. I had almost given up trying to find decent and affordable Chinese takeout food. I ordered the Orange Chicken box that came with chow mein, broccoli, and eggrolls, as well as the fried fish dish that I forget the name of right now and some steamed rice. But both were excellent and well worth the money. The rice was fluffy and cooked correctly. I live in Pasadena, which is a good 20 minutes away with no traffic, but I will definitely return whenever I am able.

I've seen some negative reviews for this restaurant that were posted four and five years ago. I can say with confidence that that no longer applies. They probably got a new chef since then who is skilled at cooking Chinese cuisine, and cares that the patrons of this restaurant are satisfied.

One of the best restaurants in the area!

Got the spicy honey chicken lunch special with the egg drop soup and it honestly exceeded expectations. It was very good and the woman working the register was very friendly. Overall I had a very good experience!

By far the best Chinese restaurant in the irwindale-Duarte-Azusa area. It's a family-owned business and they provide great service. Perhaps a little pricier than other Chinese restaurants, but you can taste the quality and attention to detail. It's a must try, especially if you've never had good Szechuan style food. They do also serve several more traditional Chinese-American entrees--all equally executed with painstaking attention to both flavor profiles and presentation. Table condiments includes soy sauce and Sriracha. I wish they had also ground white pepper. But I think they would provide some if you asked. Highly recommend!!!

came here for dinner, food was very good. As good as any Cantonese style restaurant you will find in the sgv. The pre order required dishes we got were all well executed.

This is a Chinese restaurant that does not taste like most in the area. They handle the meat and vegetables differently. You can taste what the ingredients should taste like. They serve with the integrity that they wish you enjoy your meal there. I can no longer enjoy a meal from other Chinese restaurants as much.

It is in Irwindale and somewhat far from central LA but this is one of the few restaurants serving duck stuffed with 8 precious ingredients and sticky glutinous rice.
The trip was worth it.
A rare treat from the past.
This dish was only served at banquets on festive occasions and the recipe 😋 has long been missing.
You have to order this at least 2 days in advance.
Other great dishes in the same category included the steam shrimp paste over black mushrooms and steam layered tofu.
There are regular chow mein, chow fun and rice dishes at reasonable prices.
Bo Bo, our server, provided excellent customer service.

AMAZING authentic Chinese food. Makes me so nostalgic. This place deserves more attention.

This is my second time eating here and the first time was over 3 months ago.
Frist off they are so clean if you come nice and spiffy you will still feel like you don’t belong 😂
But all jokes aside this is not Chinese fast food it is Chinese gourmet in my opinion. Most importantly the whole place just runs like a well oiled machine. I’m so happy I’m local to this restaurant and don’t take my word for it COME HERE you will thank me later !

Love this place, best Kung Pao Chicken I have ever had!

Got Kung pao chicken and beef chow fun, to go. It was the best we have ever had!!! The employees were very nice. I have thrown away all the menus to other Chinese food places, Sands has everything I need! Looking forward to trying other dishes. I have no doubt they will be as outstanding as the ones I had tonite.

I've tried their food via Door Dash because of the great reviews. Their food is so fresh and delicious. I've had the shoyo chow mein and the shrimp and eggs...so delicious and this is now my to go for the best Chinese food. Thank you Sands Chinese Restaurant.

Good Chinese food. Wide variety menu including very authentic and slightly Americanized offerings. Food presentation was good and service excellent. Next to Starbucks with limited parking.

Came here with a coworker. The food and service was great. It's a small restaurant with only a free tables for dining in. There is plenty of free parking either in front of the store or at the back.

Best Chinese food I've ever had and it's not even close. I'm not kidding. I Honestly can't believe people are not breaking the door down to get into this place.
