When I lost my job a few years ago, they helped me navigate my severance paper work.

We went to an appointment we thought was it's just an hour appointment wound up to be a lovely event in their parking lot with all kinds of resources free dinner and some games for kids plus we got an hour with attorneys to get some help with a landlord tenant issue where we were being harassed to move because they want to sell the property it's a rent control property so having assistance from the legal aid foundation is just amazing The staff was absolutely wonderful respectful treated us with dignity and truly want to help. This location is in the heart of Los Angeles pass downtown. We could have been treated any way and have not been treated well in the past by other agencies this one is special. I wholeheartedly think each and every one of the people that helped us that day helped with seating helped with food they were just amazing. And the food was the bomb!

I got a 3day notice from my landlord with a note that I owed 3 months of late fees(illegal). In a panic I skated to Legal Aid office and got there at 4:40 on a Friday afternoon. I was brought into a conference room and an attorney talked WITH, not TO, me for over 30 minutes, giving me a list of resources and numbers to use in case. Most importantly she calmed me down, staying late on FRIDAY, and of course with no charge.
