I've been going to Agoura Hills PT for over two months now (three times a week), and I can't speak highly enough of Michelle, Mark, Sarah and all the staff. Every single person I've worked with has treated me with respect, kindness and (thank goodness) a sense of humor! I have yet to see anyone leave the facility with a frown on their face. Thank you all!!

They do not mask in case that matters to you, despite the current mandate.

A week ago, I was near Agoura Physical Therapy, so I decided to make an appointment in person. Unfortunately, the staff was at lunch, but the physical therapist greeted me with a warm smile and, offered to have me call back or return in an hour. His kindness and positive energy made me feel confident in his ability to treat me.

Sadly, when I called this morning, after 9 am to make my appointment, the front desk lady seemed to be having a no-good day. Her tone was harsh and unfriendly. She said that she had my paperwork in her hand, but she asked for my "Doctor's name?" followed by, "What are you coming for?" which I found odd. I said, "Pardon?" To what she added, "What's your problem?"
I explained to her that I had the referral on my computer and suggested following the doctor's notes since he had reviewed my MRI. "I do not want to make a mistake as I'm not certain which cartilage or ligament is damaged. Let me call my doctor's office to send the doctor's notations, again." I added. She didn't let me finish talking.
"I don't need the doctor's notes, I AM ASKING YOU!" She said.
Then, Sarcastically added, "Do you have a problem in your head?" and, after a long delay she added," Or your leg." The last one wasn't even a question. I immediately asked her if she was alright as I waited for a month to make this appointment.
She instantly raised her voice and said, "Calm down, you are yelling at me."
One of the hardest things to do is to hear somebody slander you and not want to defend yourself because it might feel like a natural reaction. Yet, It's best to let it go.
According to The National Institute of Health, when narcissistic people are confronted, they use their skills to pivot the entire issue and blame it on you directly. You cannot fall for the self-defense trap.
I'd like to add one more thing: The conversation came to an end when I assured her that I wasn't yelling at her. "For your information, I usually record my conversations when making first-time appointments at new places." I point out. She freaked out and was unable to respond. I then ended the call and contacted my physician.
Overall, Agoura Therapy is disappointing to hire someone like this individual to be the FACE of the business. When do you people lose your compassion towards others? People who could be dealing with pain, like me? What about respect? Her demeanor was beyond disappointing.
I hope that future interactions with Agoura Therapy's staff will be more positive. It's a shame.
