I've seen UK cardio my whole life, But the provider I have now is by far the best! Dr. Leventhal is forward about everything and will "dumb" things down without making you feel stupid. very thankful for him and his team!

Have waited for a year for heart transplant and I just received. The doctors and staff in all areas and departments have been stellar, exceptional, and professional in every regard. These people (the transplant team) have saved my life. The transplant coordinator made the process understandable and helped me through any issue I experienced.

I was sent to UK GILL HEART INSTITUTION in Lex. KY. What an amazing place to go for help. Yes I would recommend if you have a heart problem to go. The Doctors an staff are caring an knowledgeable as to setting up treatment plans for patients. The only negative thing I could said is if you have a reason to call them it does seem to take a long time to get them on the phone. Just leave a message an they will return your call.

I will always be grateful for to the team of doctors that saved my daughter Kattie French! Their quick thinking and the ECMO machine they put her on literally gave me my daughter back and after she was released they would answer every email and phone call I made with any questions that I had. You couldn’t ask for a better crew!!

They are always on top of any of my issues. I’m satisfied with this institution.

I was transfered to UK Hospital while in heart failure. It is a teaching hospital and I saw more doctors and residents than I could count. I ended up seeing Dr. Bhalla after my discharge and I couldn't"t be happier. Her and Dr. Hesselson are the best doctors I could have asked for. I saw one person talk about lack of compassion and I can say that I NEVER experienced that. Both doctors took as much time as I needed and talked to me on a level that I could understand. They worked with me to schedule appointments with both doctors back to back since it is a 5 hour drive one way. I will say that they have run late and I had to wait but no longer than any other doctors I have seen in the past. I would have given 5 stars BUT it is impossible to make or change an appointment by phone. Like others I have called in and been on hold for 2 to 3 hours just trying to get someone at the front desk to answer and reschedule an appointment. More than once I have been on hold for over an hour and then got disconnected and had to start all over again. Very frustrating .

Staff kind and helpful. However, the address is not correct, wasted time going to the former address.

Seemed to be running a bit smoother last visit.

Update: Today appointment for echo was canceled due to the fact she just had one already. Thus we are an hour early for a 1:30PM appointment. Its now 3:16pm and we are still here waiting. Patiently waiting why a plethora of others come and go. Again, hope you have time to burn at this facility if you choose to come here.

Called back for girlfriends echo quickly went fine. Then called back for doctor appointment. Waiting 2 1/2 hours now... and still waiting in this little room. So i decided to type this review. This is not the first time his has happened. Usually do get an apology but this is ridiculous. Do not reccommend this facility unless you got time to burn.

In two visits I waited over two hours the first time, two and a half hours the second. The doctor came in, didn't apologize, and dispensed with the usual introductory chit-chat. He seemed competent but also anxious to take care of business and get on to the next patient.

On my next visit the cardiologist found something not quite right on my echocardiogram, so he ordered a transesophageal echocardiogram, a more complex procedure. I came in a few weeks later, and it was done. Everyone involved was nice. Two days later my cardiologist's office called with the result. It was OK. It wasn't my cardiologist who called but an aide. That's been my experience at this office. It's (a) efficient and (b) without compassion.
