This is a great, locally-owned store with a good selection of curated brands/pieces (especially domestically made goods). In-house denim services are also excellent, as they can accommodate more complex and specialized alterations. Staff (Jenna and James) were super helpful and friendly, as well!

Got my jeans hemmed here, and they came out amazing. Great staff with awesome customer service. Wish I would've asked for a name, but the guy who helped me with the process was super helpful (tall guy with glasses). Super fast turnaround waited like 10 minutes while I looked around the store. Highly recommended for alterations, and they have a great selection of denim and work wear.

Great experience with the employees of this store. It is aesthetically pleasing to look around, and there are some great vibes here.

Love the selection of brands and clothing, and although the prices may be slightly high for the demographics of the area, the quality of brands this store carries is enough justification.

My dad had ordered me the women's flight suit and was worried about it fitting my tall figure (5'11) and it fit me perfectly! The torso and leg length is more than long enough and it feels like it was made just for me! He had even emailed the makers to clarify his sizing concerns and they replied in a timely and encouraging manner, even offering to tailor the suit if it didn't fit me upon arrival. Really incredible service and the quality of the clothing itself is beyond worth it! The style and weight of the denim is cute, comfortable and I have no worries about it lasting me for many happy years to come. I'm a girl who likes some heavy duty items in my wardrobe and this flight suit satisfies every little practical and stylish part of my heart.

Hands down the best place you can take your high end / raw / selvedge denim to be worked on. Nobody can compete on price, quality, and level of service. The product array in the store is also top notch. I took my prized Hiroshi Kato jeans in for chainstitch hemming and James was the most helpful guy - helped me get them the EXACT way I wanted them and put up with my OCD level of concern for how they were going to be worked on. The final product was phenomenal, I won't go anywhere else. What a gem of a spot. They also hook up 15% off in store purchases with service purchase (hem, stitch, darn, haircut, etc.)...pretty incredible deal. Love this place and happy to support a local spot using USA materials and labor and the local community. Their core branded products are also incredible, likely coming back for the black selvedge jacket in the very near future.

Needed a new barber. Been seeing the shop for a while. Found out they had a barbershop and made an appointment. Got a combover, high tight fade, and hard part. Timmy did a great job. Took his time.

I have a pair of Rising Sun denim that needed some darning and to have the size reduced so I could keep wearing them. I also had a couple pairs of 5.11 Tactical Flex jeans that I wanted downsized. I was a little bit embarrassed to ask to get work done on the 5.11 jeans as they are obviously not the type of thing this shop makes or would normally work on. Steven assured me over email that he could do it. When I came into the shop with my wife and son Steven was really kind and helpful and didn't act like it was odd at all that I was bringing in such inferior jeans. He took the time to show us around and gave us a tour of the shop. It was a great experience and really cool to see. I now am able to wear all my jeans again, all the darning and reduction in size was done very well. I will be back here soon to buy a pair from Steven.

Edit: finally made it back in! I brought in a couple of pairs of jeans for the leg tapering service, more on that shortly. I planned on buying a pair of jeans from Railcar but ended up getting a Type 2 jacket in 14oz double black. The jacket is absolutely perfect and I've been wearing it every chance I get. The tapering was also done perfectly. You cannot tell any work was done, just looks like they have always been this way, perfectly tapered. I brought in another pair of 5.11 Tactical jeans and once again they didn't bat an eye in regards to doing work on such inferior "denim". The second pair I brought in was the Rising Suns that I had brought in 4 years prior! Still going strong just wanted a bit more tapering in the legs. I was only slightly nervous about having work like that done on these pants, but I knew from my previous experience that these folks are professionals. Once again I'm more than happy with the work done here, the customer service is next level and once again, I will be back.

My husband gets his haircut here. Beautiful store with amazing service. Scotty is a great barber. They have amazing products too, you can get a discount with haircut.

Absolutely amazing product at a fair price! But what I was most impressed with was the jeans travelling from Monrovia to my doorstep in England in less than 48 hours! You have a customer for life in me now.

Railcars tapering/down size service is truly exceptional. This team knows denim! They have done a couple pairs for me & they always come back exactly how I expected them to. Couldn't reccomend them enough & not to mention they are always very polite & helpful. Thank you railcar for making my grail jeans wearable!

Unique Specialty store! They make their own jeans and jean jackets.... We need more stores like this in El Monte. Bought a gift card for a good friend, will return to purchase some gear for myself.

Amazing tapering service!!! Highest recommendation! I sent them my brand new black 14oz Iron Heart 777s for taper and hem service and I couldn't be more pleased. It is obviously risky tailoring denim that costs hundreds of dollars - especially requesting them to taper the leg opening by 2 full inches - but I gave it a shot and Railcar did a perfect job. I also love the form they provide on their website to enter the measurements of the taper at the thigh, knee, and leg opening. I will only use Railcar Fine Goods for all my denim tailoring.

Update one year later: I've now had 3 pairs of Iron Hearts tapered here and Railcar has done a perfect job with all 3. Looking forward to using them for other denim repair services!

I had a great experience with Railcar. I needed to get my denims hemmed, so Steven measured me and got the hemming/stitching done in about 5 minutes. It exceeded my expectations. I got to take a tour of the workshop as well and it was cool to see the process they take to make their denims. I will definitely come back for my next pair!

I ship all of my raw denim here since there’s literally no tailor I can trust near me. Measurements and stitching are always on point. If you’re spending $300+ on jeans, get them tailored properly by the best. And they always meet their promised delivery time. Sometimes they even come a couple weeks sooner if they’re not busy.

Purchased an RFG raw denim and Wabash denim shirt at Martin Mattox (Auburn, CA), and immediately discovered both shirts are of the highest quality, fit like a glove, and are by far my favorite shirts in my inventory of top quality man-gear. Can’t wait to visit the store this winter.

I sent my Naked & Famous Elephant 8's in for a taper and when I got them back they still fit a little loose around the thighs for my taste. I contacted Railcar about it and they said to ship them back for a re-taper and to just pay shipping. I got them back about a day ago and they now fit perfect! Thanks so much for all the help through this process. The work is top notch and customer service was stellar. Highly recommended.

Ordered a deuce jacket over the phone/online. Custom. I’m about 6’5” and needed a tall. Ended up making a Medium with 3” added to the length of sleeves and coat length. It worked perfectly. The staff did an amazing job and the construction is perfect as well. Highly recommend

Had my UB301s sent in for their tapering service. I cannot be more more pleased or satisfied with the work that was done. I will never have denim alterations done anywhere else! The work was of the best quality and the turnaround time was exactly as stated on the website.
