Amazing place if you are looking for nice shoes . Very helpful staff ( no wonder they are celebrating 60 years in business) . Andrew was very knowledgeable and I got a pair of beautiful French for ever shoes on sale for under $70.00.

Read about Bodells as I was searching for an "old style" shoe store to take my 99 year old Godmother for proper shoe fitting. Service was excellent. The salesman, a true foot specialist, took his time helping her find the right pair to keep her comfortable and well supported.. well with the hour trip.

I was looking for a good walking shoe which I walk 5 days a week. I was looking at New Balance Shoes but did not know which style I needed. I went and checked on YouTube and came across Richard Bodell’s video on the Mens New Balance 1540V3. He actually had the most detailed video out of anyone else. I actually watched all of his video’s on YouTube. His first impressions and knowledge attracted me to watch all of his videos. I have flat feet. I was so amazed on how much knowledge that he had on not just the shoes that you need but asks you first if you have any problems with you feet or legs. Then he customizes the shoes that you need for your feet. I live in Indiana and was to far away to go in person to his store. I first emailed Richard everything about my problems with my feet and legs and he replied back to me and answered all my questions and he then picked out the shoe that I needed for my walking needs. Lastly after he answered all my questions by email and gave me the total price of the shoes. I then called him and placed my order for the shoes that he recommended for me. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for shoes to either email or call him directly. He is extremely knowledgeable and does 100% know his shoes. He has 40 years of experience. I will always in the future purchase from him. You cannot go wrong with Richard. Great customer service. Highly recommended. Fast shipping. Very well packaged and a wonderful shopping experience. I did purchase New Balance 1540v3 walking/running shoes and they only lasted roughly 7 months. I had noticed on the right shoe up in front by mesh where big toe is the mesh had a small hole in it on top. I am a dedicated walker and only walk on concrete & blacktop. I never walk in the mud, rain, ice & grass. I took a picture of hole in mesh on right shoe and emailed Richard. He got back with me the next day and told me to mail shoes back to him since I live to far away to drive to shoe store and would replace them with brand new ones. I mailed the shoes back to him. 2 weeks later Richard mailed me the exact same shoes back in a different color. Great customer service 100% highly recommended. I will always buy my walking/running shoes from him since I walk year round to take care of my walking needs.

Bodell's Comfort Shoes are amazing. I purchased 2 pairs of Samuel Hubbards "DressFast" from him over 3 years ago when I lived Southern California. Invest in great pair shoes (2 pairs in my case) and you will be set for a good while. I dealt with "pronation" outward, my ankles were not supported. I had researched the Samuel Hubbards before I came into the store in Long Beach. Once there the salesman and MR. Bodell pointed out the health benefits of the "DressFast" shoes. I tried on the Black pair. I was convinced this was the shoe for me. The Company Samuel Hubbard offers "sole replacement service through another company". I also wanted a brown pair, but they were not in stock. So I placed an order for them. The DressFast shoes are the only shoes I wear. The black pair is time to be resoled. Harken back to the days when employees knew their stuff. This is the case at Bodells Shoes where they measure your feet, ask questions about your work or other issues related to your feet and make excellent suggestions for shoes. My foot doctor already recommended a shoe for me, so I already knew what I wanted. They did suggest a shoe for my wife who came with me and we got them, though my wife's shoes had to be ordered. They offered to ship them to us for no charge, which is nice, but we live right around the corner so no need. They are not cheap, but they only carry high quality shoes and the service was excellent. My wife and I will definitely be back!

The staff is very attentive and helpful. They have a great selection of shoes. My mother has problem feet and this is pretty much the only place she buys shoes at. They also have birkenstocks, and they will measure your feet carefully to make sure you get ones that fit perfectly.

Old school family owed shoe store. Richard Bodell is 2nd generation to the business and retains footwear formalities from decades past. I was taken aback at first, frankly, when asked to have a seat so as to measure my foot! Several pairs were recommended based on my expressed intention, and each shoe was placed on my foot, with the use of a shoehorn, omg!!
In the end i was won over and sold a quality pair of shoes (not cheap), and would refer anyone, despite the “fragrance” of pipe tobacco which remained mildly unpleasant, but I’ll return nonetheless!

Needed a pair of orthopedic shoes for my feet. I stopped in and talked with Richard. He was able to fit me with a pair of shoes that makes walking much more comfortable. I plan on returning to buy another pair. They make walking much more comfortable.

Great selection of fashionable and comfort footwear. Even with some higher prices you get what you pay for! Spend a chunk today and have a pair of shoes that will last you years! Also a good number of the brands they sell do resoling so when the shoe wears down you can send it in for a new sole! Staff is also quite knowledgable in foot issues and sollutions!

I have problem feet and an orthotic brace. They knew exactly what I needed (unlike another recommended shoe store) and fit me with a great shoe. If you have problems with your feet and certainly if you have orthotics this should be your shoe store. Friendly, local atmosphere too. I won't go any where else.

Been shopping here since the 1960's when they were located a couple doors down. Wing Tips as a kid, then J C's, and Wallabees as a teen. They still carry quality shoes, and the best part is..It's still owned and operated by the same original family.
