Little Cottonwood Animal Hospital

My 15 year old cat had been suffering from bone cancer for a while and I felt I had run out of options. When I brought him here, all the doctors who saw him had treated him very lovingly and carefully, and I was kept fully informed of all treatment options available for him. All the advice given to me was straightforward while also taking into account that I was grieving him. As someone who had been feeling completely devasted about his slow decline, everyone at the hospital had brought me a sort of peace as they had reassured me I had done everything I could to help him.

On the day I had to bring him in to be euthanized, they allowed me to bring in my whole family to say goodbye. My family and I were allowed to take our time to be with him in the room until we were ready to let him go, and when the time came, the process itself was quick and peaceful. Dr. Horvath had walked us through every step of the euthanasia, and while my family had been distraught over the process, having her walk us through everything was incredibly reassuring and had allowed us to focus on him in his last moments. We were given all the time needed to mourn him and I never felt rushed to leave. Even when I came in 2 weeks later to pick up his ashes, the front desk staff were very kind and comforted me once again for his loss.

This is the only hospital where I felt my concerns were taken seriously and where my cat's issues were dealt with immediately. At other hospitals, I had been told to wait days or even weeks for x-rays to even begin the process of diagnosing him. Here, the day I brought him was the day I had finally learned what his issue was and had been given treatment to start right away. I live about 45 minutes away but this is the only place I'd consider taking my babies for treatment.

I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who is thinking of bringing their pets here. The staff are very understanding and straightforward, the rooms are always cleaned right before I'm taken inside, and I feel like all my concerns are heard and acknowledged!

Had an emergency with our dog at 2 A.M. I called them and was there in 20 minutes, very helpful professional, and didn't try to oversell me. Prices are obviously a little more, but it is an Urgent Care. Highly recommend this place. Front staff were nice, and Dr. HA was great.

Best hospital and vets anywhere. Been coming here for years. My dog now is 17 and they have taken such good care of her. Many dogs and cats before her were patients too wouldn’t trust anyone else.

We had to say goodbye to our 18 year old Saluki and this place was very understanding, helpful, and compassionate. From a cost perspective it is much more affordable than the at home services.

Our baby had been struggling for two years. At the recommendation of a good friend we came Little Cottonwood Veterinary. Best decision ever. For 1/4 of the coast of our old unsuccessful vet, our Golden Retriever was properly diagnosed treated. Within a week she is back to her old self. Thank you so much!

I cannot say enough great things about this place. I took my 11yo Boston in on a Saturday morning without an appointment and they graciously added him to the line up. I was never made to feel like I was a bother or that Charlie wasn’t a priority. Great advice from the vet and very knowledgeable. She did not try to convince to purchase all the things but explained why she thought they were necessary to the health of my old dog. We ended up taking all her recommendations and received a discount on the price of the office visit. EVERY time I call, the person on the other end is friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. EXCELLENT!

Recommend the vet and staff here. They took such care of my Labrador. Within days, she was like a new dog. She has allergies which we knew of, but this time it was a serious yeast infection causing her to be miserable. More she is doing fantastic, her coat is wonderful, she's not itching, scratching, her fur is growing back.
The staff is kind, I was almost hysterical over the phone. My vet tried and I hadn't found one I trusted. I called them up, they gave same day appointment, answered all my questions.

Tiny but mighty animal hospital. I just started with this place but so far the staff is friendly, the service is professional, and it's alway buzzing (busy with ppl); this is a good thing! I love that they have drop in hours for tech services. Other places are still only taking appointments for that.

I like this hospital. I drive around 40 minutes to get there; I do it because I feel that the vet is honest and professional, and she cares about my babies.

Great at applying precautions for covid while still permitting a single masked owner in with dog. Staging entry times with great precision. Well done! So far the medical support has been great too. My dog can be a great patient if I'm with him, or a complete (dangerous) nightmare if I'm not. That they made a way for me to be with him for the exam meant he could stay calm and then be good for them when they needed to take him in the back for a blood draw. Other vets have met THE DEMON when trying to do a blood draw, so I can't emphasize enough how important their willingness to work with Masked Me coming along with my dog was to our success.

My very senior Boston Terrier had massive joint pain and was yelping in pain and couldn't walk, go outside, etc. He hasn't been to the vet in a while and we don't have all his shot paperwork handy but we didn't want to go to the ER with him. So I found Little Cottonwood and my wife brought him in the next morning (with no appointment) at 7:45am Saturday. We were seen right away and the Dr. was very knowledgeable and great bedside manner. We ended up getting bloodwork and xrays to help with the diagnosis and left within 90 minutes of walking in with Rx in hand. The next day after our Boston took the meds, he was like a spring chicken and was able to walk, wasn't yelping in pain and back to his normal old self. The total price was also very reasonable and probably 25% less than I expected. We will be coming back and I'd highly recommend.

Little Cottonwood Animal Hospital saved my dog's life AND the doctors followed up with me every day for a week until she was doing better and eating on her own. If that doesn't tell you the quality of care they provide, I don't know what does.
During this crazy world of COVID, I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for the Little Cottonwood Animal Hospital for seeing my dog DAY OF. I walked in to 2 other "emergency" hospitals and called 6 other animal hospitals and no one, NO ONE would see her because they were at capacity or didn't have room in their schedule and it almost caused us to loose our pup.
I came in July 5th, after my husband called to see if they could see our dog, based on her symptoms they considered her issue urgent and asked us to come in within the hour. Dr Horvath saw her and immediately saw there was a problem based on her symptoms and how she looked. She ordered X-rays and blood work to be done right away. They found she had a horrible infection in her uterus and needed to be operated on right away. She called one of the other doctors (Dr. Licciardo) to come in on her day off to perform an emergency operation. After her operation, they weren't sure if the infection would affect her organs, so for two days they asked me to bring her in from morning to evening so they could give her meds and IV fluids. On the second day, they check her blood work again to confirm she didn't have organ failure. However, her energy was very low and she was not eating on her own. They provided me with dog food and syringes to help us give her food and water. They checked on me every day, either by phone or text, for a week until I was able to tell them my dog was doing much better. I am extremely grateful for the doctors and the staff at this animal hospital. If it weren't for them, our dog may not be with us.

So yesterday all three of my dogs were showing signs of kennel cough. I called my regular vet and they were full. I went on Yelp to see another near by vet and I found Little Cottonwood Animal Hospital. Thankfully they were able to accommodate all 3 of my dogs same day! I had Dr. Horvath and she was transparent and informative not to mention the sweetest lady ever! How she treated my dogs and talked with them really showed she enjoys what she does! Even though I brought 3 dogs in last minute, she didn't seem rushed at all! I was very impressed. You can tell she's been doing this a very long time and loves what she does. One of my dogs probably didn't need anti biotics but she wrote up a script just in case, so if she showed more symptoms I could just come by the vet and pick them up! Dr. Horvath could have easily prescribed all 3 of my dogs and made some extra money from doing so but instead she didn't want to have my pups on pills if they didn't need them. The exam was only $49 per dog, but since I was new one of them was free! Walked out of the vet paying less than I'm use to. Because covid 19 you do need to wear a mask inside which I appreciate. They also had me go into a room with dogs almost like "a waiting room". One by one she took my dogs into a separate exam room (I'm guessing another precautions because of covid). Although I would usually prefer to be in the same room while they are being examed I also understand with covid, rather be safe than sorry. The staff also seemed very nice. They forwarded me via email paper work to fill out prior to coming in which I personally prefer. I'm very grateful they were able to get me and my puppies in so they can start to feel better soon!
