New Gardena Hotel

We booked a room for the NASCAR Clash at the Coliseum at USC. I did read that this is a Japanese hotel and I was slightly concerned about being able to understand all of the employees but I never had a problem communicating with the staff. Everyone at the hotel and restaurant was extremely friendly, the rooms were spotless and roomy, the parking garage felt safe and was a major benefit, both the American and Japanese breakfasts were fantastic and a tremendous value for being free, the area felt safe, and we had a fantastic time! If I am ever anywhere near the LA area again, I will certainly be back!

This hotel is owned by the Japanese management. The room is very clean and quiet. Sevice is great. Free parking and only 15 min by a car. Restaurants walking diatance!

Everything about our stay was great. My friend and I stayed at a two (very comfortable) double bed room which was very spacious and incredibly clean; we really appreciated that the A/C was already on when we got there and that the general ambiance of the hotel was quiet and tranquil. All the staff was really kind and thoughtful.
There's free monitored parking and free breakfast: I got the Japanese style and my friend the American style. Both were really good and filling. There's also a gym and pool, though we didn't get to use them since we were only there for one night.
Definitely recommend and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

The best value in the Gardena area. I stay here because of the location, value, comfort, proximity to grocery stores, and more. I also want to mention that the front desk employees and the cleaning crew are so nice.

Totally recommend it. Rooms are very clean and staff is courteous. Although the complimentary breakfast is limited in options it was still good and of a reasonable size. The pool and gym are small but in great condition and cleanliness. I would stay here if I need to visit again.

This was our first time staying here. The price was reasonable and once we got to our rooms, we felt that we got more than what we paid for. The water pressure in the shower was AMAZING, the bidet toilet was a first and the warm toilet seat was nice. The beds were super comfortable as were the pillows. The white bedding was super clean and the housekeeping does an amazing job. We stayed for 2 nights, and this will be our first choice when we come back to visit ! The restaurant next door was very very good, authentic food. Highly recommend.

Excellent stay. Reasonable prices and loved the features such as location, part of town, security gate for parking with 24-hour surveillance, and the outside patio in front of the hotel.
Rooms were a touch outdated but cozy and spacious. The bidet was a great touch and we loved the huge mirrors. No microwave or ironing board in room but the microwave was by the vending machine (and I think one is in the lobby).
Respectful and friendly staff. In lieu of no breakfast they offer a voucher for one (1) free meal from the restaurant next door. Will definitely be staying here again in the future!

They rearranged me to a duet room since the first one-bed room they assigned had machine noisy problem. The price was the same for me, which was great! The room is wonderful since it is clean, big, and well-furnitured. I didn’t expect that since their front desk looks old-fashioned.

This place is very nice! Has a unique Japanese vibe to it. Hence the Bidets in the rooms. The elevator made you feel like royalty. The views from the top floor catch the sunsets beautifully 😍 Also the restaurant connected to the hotel has the best Japanese salmon bento box I've had (and is was complimentary upon check-in). Gotta try the pasta potato salad.

Hello everyone! I came for a music festival and we decided to stay at this hotel, I just wanted to say that the front desk was very helpful. The rooms were decently sized and the bathroom was nice, the water pressure on the shower is amazing!! Also the complimentary breakfast was very yummy it was actual food and balanced, would highly recommended. (p.s. the toilet seat is hella warm)

I really wish I would've stayed here every night while I was in Southern Cal.
The front counter staff are very friendly and treat you with respect and make you feel very welcome. Check in/out was a breeze. Very very very clean rooms, that have comfortable beds and pillows! I liked the little things they provide that other places don't like the underground gated parking garage, the great water pressure with heat lamps in the bathroom, and the wall mounted flash light right when you walk in your room.
Very quiet hallways, and the other guests were quiet and respectful to each other. Great neighborhood and the hotel is only about a 10-15 min drive to LAX which is another bonus. Overall this place is truly great and I was very impressed and happy witih my stay. Needless to say I will definetly stay here again the next time I'm in L.A.

I stayed here early December for a couple of day and AMAZING. I haven’t stayed in a hotel in so long. It was quiet and comfortable! The mirror is HUGEEEEE and spacious for multiple people to get ready at once. Very affordable as well and the staff were super friendly! And the closet doors were a full body mirror! The beds were comfy and the room was super clean. The had a mini fridge in the room and a microwave that’s downstairs in the lobby! You also get a free meal from the restaurant next door! It was so yummy! I will definitely stay here next Time I’m in LA and I feel it was centrally located. Me and the girls never felt unsafe. A parking garage that leads right into the side of the hotel! I loved it! They even accommodated our late check out! And let us check in a little early.

Great place to stay that is moderately priced. My husband, adult daughter, and I were visiting relatives during Thanksgiving week and the New Gardena met my requirements for a clean, comfortable room, safe neighborhood, secure and free parking, and helpful staff. There's also daily maid service which was a surprising change from every place we've stayed at since the pandemic.

We stayed in Room 614, a 2-queen-bed room. I especially liked the separation between the shower/ toilet area and the sink/dressing room. The dressing room area didn't face the beds for some privacy. You can request a quiet room in the back away from busy Redondo Beach Blvd.

There was a mini fridge in the room but no microwave. However, there was a microwave in the lobby as well as the vending machine area on each floor.

Although the New Gardena does not offer a free breakfast, you can get a voucher for a free bento box at the Happa Restaurant of Japanese Izakaya restaurant next door. You can only get a voucher during the restaurant's business hours. The bento box menu is separate from the restaurant's usual menu. I recommend getting the 2-item selection which is filling and avoid the salmon which is very small and leaves you hungry. Please see my attached photo for the hotel's policy on the bento box.

Highly recommend New Gardena Hotel! Worth every penny. The staff is very nice. The hotel is in a good location close to everything. It does have a secure garage parking and a restaurant next door with great food. The rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. We will be staying here whenever we are in town.

We loved staying at this hotel. We just wanted a quick overnight getaway and New Gardena was perfect, check in and out was easy, the room was so clean. The staff we very nice. The bathroom was amazing and we soaked in the jacuzzi tub 3 times. The hotel overall was very quiet. The AC in the bedroom was older and a bit louder than i can sleep with, but the one in the main room was new and strong enough to keep us cool overnight on its own. There is plenty of parking (included), is right by two plazas with lots of food options, and a small grocery store across the street.
That helped a lot since we kinda assumed the suite would include utensils and mugs, but it did not so we just got cups at the grocery and extra spoons in our dinner order.
Planning to stay again when we need another break from Stay-at-Home and couples time to ourselves.

Saving best for last-- utmost professional staff, entire team went above and beyond, ensuring my 5 family members wishes were fulfilled before we even had to make a request. Yes, they cater to your every whim, respect, and truly care about your entire experience.

This is such a clean hotel. It's clean, doesn't smell, and is pretty quiet. They also have free bento box from the restaurant next door. Very convenient and for it being free, it's tasty! There is also other restaurants and small shops nreatby. I highly recommend this place if you want to stay in a clean and quiet place.

It's reasonably priced for LA. The rooms do not have microwaves, irons or ironing boards, they do not have a free breakfast bar, but offer 1 free dinner instead (oriental meal.) The rooms are nice with heated bidets. They do honor AARP discounts, a plus in my favor. Other than the few short commings I rate it 5 stars for excellent service.

Man they got a bidet toilet, plus that seat warms up too! I was too excited once I seen it🚽😍 Overall clean, so I appreciate this Hotel all around!! Not much more costly than the Hotels by the airport, with an extra bed! What's an extra $20 when you have an extra bed and a Bidet? Can't beat it imo!!!

Stayed here for a week. Really nice staff, very professional and formal.

Pros:
-This hotel feels very safe. The staff are always there at the front desk to help you and assist you, and they are always polite.
-Very clean. The cleaning staff are very kind and they clean the room every single day when you are out.
-Free Dinner. The hotel provides a free bento dinner every night (except Monday night) with choices like Mochiko chicken, Ship grilled chicken, curry or salmon. Yummy and really nice extra perk. Also there are instant ramen bowls available for purchase at front desk, and Japanese drinks available in vending machines on multiple floors, cash only.
-Proximity. This hotel is in easy walking distance to a large Japanese grocery store and other delicious restaurants.

Cons:
-Pool is no longer in service due to Covid
-Need to ask the front desk dtaff to refill water for you
-No microwaves or coffee makers in each room. You need to go down to first floor to use the microwave. They provide coffee upon request at the front desk

Would I stay here again?
Absolutely yes. I love the customer service, the feeling of safety and the cleanliness. It's very dependable and you have a good feeling staying there. Also the proximity to grocery store and restaurants is a huge plus.

Pro Tip: if you have a business, register as a member with the hotel, and you will get a huge discount on your room, especially if you're in a room that costs more than $130. Also, their room prices never change
