Rio de Los Angeles State Park

I've been meaning to stop by this park for years since I live in Atwater Village and regularly go to Frogtown on the other side of the river from this park. It's a nice park objectively speaking, my favorite parts are the paths closest to the railroad tracks but from what I can tell you can't actually see the la river from this park, so in that sense the name is misleading.

I live by the LA river. 11 years and counting, but an Angelino since I was 2 years young. I've seen this river evolve from a polluted dump to the more thriving full of life habitat that it currently is (including several homeless encampments but they are decent folks down on their luck that chose the LA river for it's safety) Remember that 187 movie with Samuel Jackson? That had some scenes shot by the LA river, I truly remember it being like that, you came to the river at your own risk. Now it's full of Hipsters sharing their beer and weed with you, young families taking their kids on bike rides and a brewery providing the very alcohol shared by the nice hipster neighbours and drank by the young couples taking their kids on walks or bike rides. You see, Craft beer will class up any situation, including public drinking. Still, this is a very happening nice community.

Amazing park has many basketball courts, baseball field, soccer fields, a small trail you can enjoy walking with friends or family, mini water park area and lady that sells bomb as mangoniadas

I lived near this park for about 6 years and did almost everything there. Took my brother to soccer practice, played basketball, ran around the track, etc. Its a fun park and there’s tons to do. Genuinely so happy I lived so very close to it.

Visiting family and decided to bring the littles one to the splash pad on this hot day. It was a big hit. Fun place for the kids. Nice shady trees all around.

Huge splash pad for the kids on a hot day and great playgrounds for all ages. The playground for 2-5 year olds is a big sand box, so my 2 year old plays safe!

It has pretty much everything 4 soccer fields one porfationl kids water park softball field hardball field senior activates nature walkes plus my dog We Rock loves the place good picking and birthday party place.😎👌

Very large Park, they have many basketball courts, tennis, football and good for biking.

I enjoy coming to this park. Lots to do for the entire family. They have a large playground for the kids. Organized sports games going on everytime I come.
My favorite part is the trail in the back of the park. It makes you forget atleast for a little while that youre in the city.

Really nice Park, I loved. We practice Zumba Monday and Wednesday at 9am Yoga 10am.

Large, clean park with plenty of good fields for baseball, soccer, and basketball. Family friendly, safe, and good for jogs.

Super fun park to take the kids!
Good size splash pad (water turns on at 11am - off at 4pm I believe) next to large playground split in two sections for smaller kids with sand and bigger kids with that nice rubbery ground. Small swing set too. Limited shade but it's there around to relax in.

The bathrooms near the playground leave something to be desired.

There's sports fields and space to grill, nice parking lot, and apparently river access - I haven't visited the river here, but that's the whole name huh.

Great park, and has a lot of basketball courts, decent tennis courts/baseball/softball fields, and a great number of walkable trails and areas. It also has a cool little water area, and always a good amount of ice cream trucks around.

This park has something for everyone. Multiple playing fields, tree lined walking / jogging paths, and gardens. My pups cry with excitement whenever we pull up here. This park is massive, very clean, well maintained, and gated all the way around for safety.

This is a great park I go there every Saturday to watch my mom's team play soccer. So many things to do in this park, it has small Waterpark, playground for the kids, a baseball field and a basketball court and many soccer fields.
