This place is nostalgic and a true film lovers playhouse. Such a great selection of classics and foreign movies with sub genres and all including new movies. Owner was great to talk to as well.

For movie enthusiasts like me, this video rental service is a godsend. The quality of the videos is pristine, and the selection is diverse, from timeless classics to new releases. But what sets it apart is the outstanding value. You get access to an extensive catalog of films at such an affordable price. It's a movie lover's paradise!

amazing selection. went in here because i couldn’t find a film on streaming service and left with more films than anticipated. the service is great. i love being recommended good films so the fact that they’re knowledgeable is a plus.

This little gem is located in South Pasadena about a block away from the Goldline station mission station stop. The prices for the videos are pretty reasonable new releases are for three days and old releases are for one week.

You can also purchase prepaid packages which range from five movies all the way to 20 movies of course the more you buy the cheaper it is per rental. If you love video stores as much as I do you will love this place as they have a wide selection of American as well as international titles. This is a last refuge for any movie buff and I highly recommend patronizing this business.

I've gone to them for many years. They are the best! Good selection. Great, knowledgeable staff. Sad that they moved further away from me, but I'll have to visit them in their new location.

All the nostalgia of Blockbuster but better. The staff are very chill and friendly, always ready to help out and knowledgeable. The whole store has a fun black and white film theme and overall it's a fun place to go pick up my favorite film or TV show.

Foreign films, classics, documentaries, cult movies, hard to find, and everything in between films to rent. Very cool shop. If they don't have it, you can request it! Their new location is up and running. Friendly and helpful staff.

Organized perfectly for deep dives into one director or actor; But my favorite thing is to come in there and just look, to relax and explore. It's a cool place and people there are likely to be interesting. So just show up and see that the world has a place for intellectuals. There are screenings, too.

Videotheque is an overlooked gem of LA and Hollywood history! It's primarily a DVD rental store, which I didn't realize until halfway through my visit. But you can also buy used Blu-Rays, DVDs, and VHS. It's all layed out by niche or category, so if you're super into Akira Kurosawa you can find all of his movies in one place. Or if you want to rent a specific Agfa rerelease, those are lumped together on their own shelf.

It's really a fascinating ode to movie-lovers and it feels special just looking around in the cramped aisles.

Oh, and they have arcade cabinets for you to play as well!

Love this place. Came for an obscure Palestinian film on dvd. I found the best video store in the country. Wonderful selection and most beautifully curated in sections by both region and filmmaker. Classics, noir, cinema from all over the world. I also found some newer Blu-ray releases. I rented a few and will be back to rent more

Back to the past, good selection of classic movies

Great selection, awesome vibe, welcoming staff. Has had almost every movie I haven't been able to get on streaming available as well as some good vinyl picks as well.

The ultimate video rental store. Darwinian selection has bred this beautiful beast that has everything worthy of renting. Especially great for horror fans who are addicted to finding obscure releases.

This place is super great. A while selection of current and trending films and well as astounding classics. The shelves are also cataloged by direction, actor and genre so if your looking for something it will be hard to miss. In addition to this there is a box at the front that has a large amount of digital download codes for movies. Which only cost $5! Crazy good deals. I really recommend

As with any species facing extinction, the last extant individual is invariably the strongest. Videotheque isn't just a video store that rents and sells DVDs. Their collection of domestic and international films is encyclopedic enough for the most eclectic and demanding film buffs. They also feature a stunning collection of hard-to-find vinyl as well as some unique music and film related tee shirts and posters. Whether renting or buying movies is your thing, you absolutely must check out this place for yourself.

My only complaint about Videotheque is how narrow the aisles are. It's difficult to feel comfortable around other customers and the employees because of this. Otherwise, I always spread the news about how magical Videotheque is to anyone who hasn't been. Amazing selection of movies, good merch including CD's, vinyl, posters, postcards and more. The key to Videotheque's greatness is their cataloguing layout. Browsing by genre? Era? Director? Actor? Country? Videotheque has you covered.
