Magic Johnson Park

Very thoughtful design, clean and full of many kind of birds specially geese. You can have your dog but on leash. Many parking spots. Whole park is accessible for wheelchair and many picnic tables and some with barbecue. There is running path with exercise equipment.

I love coming here to walk and exercise. On days after the rain, the park looks beautiful. Ducks are the main attraction here. Some times seemingly exotic birds like to stop by. There are exercise equipment scattered throughout the park. There are 100m 200m 300m 400m markers on two different paths for runners as well. There’s an outdoor wedding chapel in a nice area. Most days vendors are about selling ice cream, fruit, or chicharrones (pinwheels). There’s two bathroom faculties, one big children’s playground and one big facility (something like a study center?) There’s a lot of field to play soccer or football…only thing missing is basketball courts!

This park's renovations are just fantastic. You can walk ,jog exercise, fish..it has a huge lake with ducks, fantastic man made views, it's a get away from the hood..it's clean up to code, play area for the kids, as well as Splash Mat that operates 10 am to 6 am. . Huge multipurpose room am not sure if it's used it would be. Shame it not used . Fantastic contribution from Magic thank you for thinking of the neighborhood.

Seren nature environment to relax in the hood. Great way to get grounded with positive energy. I could literally stay there all day. There's food vendors and plent of areas to chill. Bring your family and friends or come solo you won't regret it.

We had our wedding in the park and reception in the hall area it was affordable and beautiful scenery.👍

One of my favorite parks in Los Angeles.

This is phase 1 of the park. I loved the lake with the water fall which flowed to another lake. Plenty of birds, turtles and even a fish can be seen at this large park. There is a large children's playground, some park shelters and park tables spread around the park. I must return because I didn't see the entire park.

Is a great Park 🏞 I want was 3 year old to see my dad play soccer ⚽ at that park with his friends that Park 🏞 so beautiful peaceful and relaxed

Beautiful park very big tons of space. We loved it there. We were able to see fish, ducks, and geese. It's really nice. There is also shade and places to sit and eat. Just bring bug spray

This park really improved. Very clean and great walking trails. Come here to walk my dogs now. Great to have a park like this one near by.

Well designed landscaping a good work from the city of Compton. New development done well and have plenty of parking spots and drinkable water available all around. Sports and fun in the park.

This Park wasn’t what I expected. I expected a park run down unkept and dirty. However it was very well maintained. Green grass nice lake trees picnic tables and gazebos. Nice track for walking and running and a lot of room. People were friendly and courteous and so was the staff. By the way if anyone finds a key to a Dodge please let me know. I lost it in the park. The only down slide. There’s a lot of goose poop in the grass. So mind your footing.

Looking for a park that has a dirt walking path and a pond area for both our RC boats/cars. This place popped up so my son and I decided to venture out on a Sunday afternoon and drive to this park. I must say for scenery, this is a beautiful park that cant be matched. We had such a great time walking around the park, plenty of friendly faces to greet you as you walk the endless paths around the park. We will certainly be back very soon.

The kids playground is amazing ! The pond is also great and the birds sing very beautiful in the evening. Highly recommend taking your kids here .

Beautiful, peaceful place in the inner-city to get out-doors. Lake attracts the ducks, geese and other birds...fun to feed.
Good place to bring kids over the Holiday's...free fun. Have an after Holiday Picnic with the left-overs.
Join others in the Community playing a rousing game of Domino's ...with music and laughter filling the air.

It's a beautiful park, I been going there since I was a kid now as an adult I work out and jog there.

It's beautiful park clean & very kid friendly have small splash pad and library & walking paths

Its beautiful here. Nice lake with friendly ducks and geese. Green grass and tall trees with a walk path equipped with exercise stops for those jogging. Ample parking. While walking through this park you almost forget you are in the middle of the city. Enclosed play ground. Great place to bring the kids or come alone or throw a bar be que at. Also a smoke free park.

One of my favorite parks to go and take a stroll. Has a lot of pretty ducks that sometimes follow you for food lol. If you want to go here I would recommend bug spray as there is a lot of baby mosquitos in the park. And maybe bring some healthy food for ducks. :)

The new facility will prove to be a great addition to this already nice location. The park has had a wonderful makeover. A hidden gem in South Los Angeles.
