A nice place to meet new people while having a drink at the bar. Pleasant individuals who tell tall tails to one another while drinking beer, eating hot dogs, and drinking more beer. This is the kind of spot where I could easily spend every evening. 99 years old and a bit worn but where else can you play pool, darts, and piss in a stainless steel troff,

Joe Jost’s has a one of a kind feel, you can feel the history as soon as you enter. The food is nothing remarkable by culinary standards but it adds to the experience of the bar. The Joe’s special is a surprisingly good sandwich and the pickled eggs are classic. A true neighborhood location.

This place will be a 100 years old in 2024! The beers are always nice and cold someone tap and summon cans but a good selection! Don't forget to try their pickled eggs they're absolutely delicious. My favorite is Joe's special with egg salad. Bring cash they don't take cards and luckily they do have an ATM for those that forget or don't carry cash.

First time there. Ever. Drove a friend - who wanted to buy the 100 Year Anniversary t-shirt - and I was treated like Royalty by the "Regulars."

They bought me two beers - and couldn't believe that I had never visited the place before.

Had the Joe sandwich - with the pickled eggs and the works - however, I'm going to have to try it with the egg salad next time.

The atmosphere is bustling and the people are - on both sides of the bar - were helpful and friendly.

I plan on hopefully, do it again soon.

Outstanding local bar. This is not a fancy place but it is… timeless. Beer is cold. Sandwiches are good and inexpensive. Overall considered a dive bar but VERY clean. Exceeds expectations.

This is the coolest bar ever... bar none. 98 years old. All cash. Beer in schooners. Wine coolers and hard seltzer are the only non-beer options. About 8 items on the food menu including pickled eggs (they sell 500 per day and serve them with pretzels and mustard). The most expensive food item is Joe's special at $3.70. Sausage sandwich with pretzels. This place is a slice of great bar culture.. Check it out!

Born and raised in this neighborhood but never tried until today. Wish I had come earlier. It's a very warm, cozy atmosphere. You can feel immediately that every other patron has been there multiple times already.

It seems the go-to order is "a special and an egg", which is a sandwich/sliced hot dog, and a pickled egg that comes with peperoncinos and pretzels.

Not the most complex of cuisines but it sure has a comforting taste.

If you like cool, old school bars that haven’t changed in decades, this is one. Long Beach is blessed with some good locked-in-time bars, and I think this might be the oldest.
We go in the day - crowd is varied - oldsters, pro drinkers, families with children. It’s not 21+ only. Has surprisingly high occupancy and TVs. Haven’t been here at night - don’t know that crowd.
FYI - I’m giving the food 5⭐ because it’s a bargain, good bang for your buck; not because it’s great (at least in regard to the <$3.50 sandwiches I order, I’m cheap, I don’t order the pricey things on the menu).

2024 is the bar's 100th anniversary. Go in if you have never been or have not been in awhile. Classic Long Beach bar that is world famous. Great atmosphere. Cash only though.

Perfect dive bar. This is a quintessential dive bar. They have cheap drinks and food. Their food (super limited) is great for what you want from a dive bar; pickled eggs, pretzel sticks, sausage (beef hotdog) sandwich. Highly recommended for a bar!

Joe Jost’s is a classic! If visiting Long Beach this is an absolute must. You’ll see many so cal and Long Beach locals sporting their shirts and hats. Just had a flight into the airport yesterday and this was the first place we stopped on our way home. The “Joes Special” is the perfect sandwich to hold you over but not fill you up so much so you can also enjoy a cold beverage or two. Also if you’re a fan of Eggs, their Pickled Eggs accompany it perfectly. Unfortunately the peanuts were out of service yesterday so I didn’t not get to picture that. But when dine-in is back open I suggest enjoying your meal next to the roaster and having a couple of ice cold Busch’s. Easily one of my favorite places on this planet.

Truly the best! ANOTHER great time with bartenders John, Jason and the rest of the gang. Mango Cart schooners!

A historic bar that opened back in 1924. Had a Birthday Party Celebration there...Cousin rented out the bar...atmosphere is great and the decor takes you back in time!! Food was great and the beer was nice n cold. Pickled eggs are Delicious!! Had an awesome time playing pool and hanging out with friends and family. Love this little place and will love to visit it on it's normal operating days. Definetely recommend to come n try their famously Pickled Eggs!! 👍

I've passed by this place for two years and never wanted to go in , because it look like a dive bar with a bunch of old guys in it ! But WOW WAS I WRONG what a great place and the staff took me back to when customer was king era !!!! The service and food was AWESOME, get the egg salad sandwich WOW what a treat!!! I can't say enough great things about this place , and u know me I can never say enough bad things if you're business sucks !!!! HERE IS A DIAMOND IN THE RUFF DON'T WALK FN RUN TO JOES!!!!!!! Badass

Staff is very nice. Food was great, and the schooners of beer were ice cold! Make sure to pick up one of their world famous shirts while your there.

Attended Christmas Eve party with a group of 14 friends. This is an annual party for us. We try to go here several times a year. Been going there for over 40. A great beer drinking establishment with pickled eggs and special saugage sandwich. The best info is that Joe Jost's has been at this location for 100 years.

The best. I live in Maine but my great grandfathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, father, mother, brothers, sisters, wife, myself & my unborn child have all patronized this establishment and we all fully recommend You do the same. Long Live Joe Josts. Forever.
