I purchased a Riese & Muller Load 60 HS. I’ve never seen a personalized service like this from an e-bike store. I got to meet Chris, their CEO, and Founder of Propel Bikes. He is truly driven by his passion for e-bikes, transforming the lives of people through a clean and efficient transportation future. He knows his products well. His staff is very knowledgeable and courteous.

Going through the purchase process was a seamless transaction. Propel accepted my Commuter Voucher checks that I receive from work.

Of all the other dealerships, Propel’s prices are very competitive and they offered free delivery. Chris delivered my bike as promised. He made some adjustments, thoroughly explained the features of the bike and warranty. The Riese & Muller Load 60 HS is just so awesome. It was definitely an upgrade from a Haibike Fatsix Xduro 9.0. Full suspension is the way to go. It gives you confidence on your ride.

Chris just went above and beyond with his service. I am very thankful and appreciative of all he has done! Coming back for sure and support his cause in the industry!

My Bulls ebike was well setup. When it arrived, it was easy to finish assembly and begin riding. There was an issue with the Kiox but that was resolved by Kyle. Thanks for a positive experience and outcome.

Great experience with Propel. After calling a couple of e-bike sellers in west LA who weren’t willing to offer test rides and were generally unhelpful, had a great conversation with Nancy who was very knowledgeable about the range of Tern bikes I was looking at made it easy to decide. In the end I didn’t arrange a test ride as I felt so confident based on the conversation and information given via phone / email. Ordering process was very simple and they kept me updated as the e-bike was received, built, tested and delivered, including opportunity to do an in-person test ride to be sure all was good with our new bike. We unfortunately had an issue with one of the wheels after a while and Propel’s after care service was awesome — Kyle came back to first repair and then replace the wheel under warranty. Very accommodating with schedule and turned up promptly to resolve the issue. I was a bit concerned buying from a store an hour or so away but Propel have over delivered, very smooth communication throughout and expert bike tech support right at my front door. Service this good really stands out and I would not hesitate to recommend Propel when buying a quality e-bike. Thanks for an awesome experience!

I bought my R&M Load 75 at Propel in 2021 and use it most days, and couldn't be happier with either the bike or Propel. Kyle has serviced my bike a few times now and each time it's been as quick as it could reasonably be given the work being done, on budget, and returned perfect. I absolutely cannot recommend them highly enough - both Propel and Kyle in particular - and will definitely continue going for both service and future bike purchases.

I purchased my Urban Arrow Family cargo line from Propel in fall of 2022, and took it there for both the initial 30 day follow-up tune-up, as well as the 1,000 mile service. Kyle was very helpful in explaining the work performed, and had the work completed the same day on both occasions. He was very helpful in explaining any issues, and I found his work to be high quality. I plan to continue servicing my bike with Propel, and will also come back to them for any electric cargo bike needs in the future.

Kyle at Propel Long Beach did a great job on my e-bike project when nobody else would even attempt it! My do-everything Tern HSD S11 needed some drivetrain work and I wanted to convert it to a belt-driven, internal gear hub. No bike shops near me in San Diego (including the store I bought it from) were willing to try. I got a referral to Propel from another shop. Kyle worked with me for several months to round up the (hard to get these days) parts. I took a day off from work to ride the bike and train up to Long Beach to get the work done.
Kyle was great about communicating throughout and paying attention to the details. I'm extremely happy with the high quality work Kyle did and he had me back on the road in time to get the commuter train home. While I haven't gotten to experience buying a bike from Propel (yet), I was impressed by the care put into the rather involved project I came to them with. I look forward to doing business with Kyle and Propel in the future.

Not only the best e-bikes in the word in stock, but incredible people as well. Larry was very helpful letting us take some bikes for a spin, and wow are their Reiss and Müller ebikes amazing. When we left we were very lucky to meet the owner, Chris, who stayed late and answered all of our questions and couldn’t have been more helpful. If you’re looking to trade in your car and commute by bike, this is the place to shop!

We had a wonderful experience with Propel Electric Bikes. We met with Patrick in the Long Beach Store where he took me out for a test ride and was very patient and knowledgable about the bike and making me feel comfortable. He also arranged to have the bike ready to take with us the same day, which was really great, since we had driven a few hours to get to the store. I am already enjoying the bike! They offer great service online, via phone and in person. You can't go wrong working with these guys and their knowledge and high quality bike brands they carry. I chose a Reise & Muller e-bike. First I want to give a shout out, Patrick, you are amazing! Thank you for the incredible experience today and for your recommendations. Today was my first visit to Propel bike to test ride the Load cargo bike. Although my friend and I were 30 minutes late, Patrick still made it work and took us on an amazing around Long beach on the demo bikes. He was fully committed that I find the right bike, that he shared what he liked and disliked about each configuration so that I was armed with knowledge to make an informed decision. There was no pressure to buy, and I left fully clear on what kind of bike I wanted. I'll definitely be purchasing a bike from Propel in the near future!

Being new to e bikes, I was lucky to purchase 2 e bikes for my wife and myself last year. Due to the supply chain issues, they took a year to arrive and, when they did, I needed to make changes to the lights and brakes to make them safe for riding on the busy streets and steep terrain where I live. I searched all of the bike shops in the South Bay and not one was able or qualified to mount the lights (Supernova front and rear), brakes (Magura eBrakes) and Bosch Nyon displays. The other shops couldn’t even get the lights, brakes or displays that I needed.

It was after I contacted Kyle Smith at Propel when matters changed. Being a novice with these bikes, he patiently answered all of my questions and offered me his advice when needed. Not only was he able to get the parts, Kyle did the installation on both of my bikes. He did an excellent job running the new brake and electrical lines, installing the new brakes and improved rotors, and changing out the front and rear lights. He was careful not to scratch or damage the finish on the bikes and even had to customize some of the mounts for the lights.

I was very pleased with the service and advice Kyle gave me during the upgrade—he always kept me informed during the entire process. I usually don’t do reviews but he went above and beyond what any other bike shop offered. I will definitely use Propel for any further repairs/upgrades and they get my highest recommendation.

Thanks to Chris and his Propel team for producing some of the very best and most informative video reviews of the new bikes and their components, including motors, controllers and transmissions. Having just gone through the process of upgrading to a Riese & Muller Nevo GT Vario HS their current reviews of the new units were indispensable to my decision and the ultimate enjoyment of my new bike. Their experience in eBikes generally and the R & M ones in particular is extraordinary and well worth your consideration if you are in the market for a new bike.

I wanted to thank Chris and his Long Beach shop staff including Adrian Pineda, as they have provided me with the bike of my dreams. I purchased a Riese & Muller Multicharger several months ago as a car replacement and do everything commuter bike and it has exceeded all of my expectations and I am in love! I have a long commute with hilly county roads and rough commercial streets in San Diego County and the bike handles everything I throw at it and makes the rides so much fun! Chris and his staff should be commended on their excellent service as well as being friendly, helpful, and always accommodating. I would also like to throw a major shout out to Riese & Muller for their outstanding bikes. I look forward to years of riding their products and working with Propel in the future.

Shout out to Pierre "Bonjour" and Nora at Propel Bikes for the most coherent, and supportive service experience I have recently witnessed. When the OEM manufacturer was inflexible and steadfastly uncooperative, Propel bikes customer support lived up to its name. Pierre took the time to consider the experience and made me feel heard. Then I was accorded a wholesome, respectful response. RESPECT ! I had not bought my bike from Propel, but they have earned my next ebike purchase.

The bottom line is if you ever want an eBike, then you should buy it from Propel Electric Bikes. I have never had better customer service from anywhere for anything. They are super responsive and really nice. Honestly, I feel like they were doing me a favor by selling me a bike. I am really happy with the bike and I think that it is a safe bet that the Riese & Muller Supercharger 2 is going to rekindle my love of cycling. My sincere thanks to Chris and everyone else at Propel.

I have over 21K miles on my Stromer ST2 and was toying with the idea of investing in a second commute vehicle. After some extensive research, I concluded that for range and power, Stromer is hard to beat. Propel bikes was the only dealer in the area that had an ST5, so I setup an appointment with the owner to give it a test ride.

Chris was very accommodating and let me ride the bike a number of miles in the neighborhood near his Long Beach shop. Over the subsequent couple of months, I found that he and his staff were very knowledgeable and very responsive to my many follow-up inquiries. I really appreciate the fact that during the entire process of me doing my research, there was NO sales pressure.

When I was finally ready to take the plunge on the ST5, Chris gave me a great deal and went the extra mile to acquire and configure my new bike ASAP, even though the bike was in short supply and high demand. Initially, a couple of issues cropped up (defect in the battery and battery connector), but Chris went out of his way to get the problems resolved quickly with the least inconvenience possible to me. After the first 300 miles on my ST5, I can definitely say I have NO regrets. Clearly, Propel is a premier dealer for great e-Bikes like Stromer.

I work for a company that uses bicycles on a daily basis to get around a larger area of land and we decided to upgrade to eBikes. Being new to the concept, I solicited a lot of input from different companies and reached out to a number of them for bids. Propel Bikes in Long Beach was the only company to get back to me with reasonable bids and we ultimately ended up going with Patrick and his team.

Patrick made the purchasing process pretty painless and bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. The bicycles we purchased are well built and move effortlessly. There were some growing pains associated with the eBikes however Patrick addressed them quickly and efficiently by providing the customer support and related services without hesitation.

I would recommend using this bike shop for your eBike wants / needs as they seem very knowledgeable and professional in the way they match you to a bike and support you in your biking hobby.

My company purchased four more eBikes from Propel and let me say that, throughout the purchasing process Patrick and his team were extremely flexible and accommodating when it came to the bidding procedure. Propel, as was the case for the first four bikes we bought, came in as the lowest bidder and was able to provide the required, extra equipment we wanted with no delay. The other companies that we solicited were either reluctant to, “step outside the box” or were unable to provide the specific items we wanted. In one case, another company flat out called me and lamented about the time and effort involved in putting together a bid for me.

We are coming up on a year of owning our first four eBikes and will, without a doubt, use Propel Long Beach for our servicing needs. With that being said, there were some growing pains on the part of my staff with regard to the implementation of this mode of transport. In every case where advice or assistance was needed, Patrick and his team responded to our concerns and addressed them accordingly in an efficient manner.

What makes this company even more appealing to me is that, as a Veteran, it is extremely satisfying to know that Propel is a successful, Veteran owned business. In my opinion, the service you will receive with this company, on every level, will be outstanding. I look forward to receiving our next four eBikes and working with Propel into the future as I have no doubt that Patrick and his crew will continue to provide excellent service and aftercare.

I live in Sacramento and bought an R&M Nevo Floor model on sale, site unseen. Their response to my questions via email was super fast, and knowledgeable. If you watch any of the bike reviews on EBR you will realize that these guys are the experts on e-bikes. I set up the financing option and it could not have been easier and quicker. The bike arrived in just a day or two, fully assembled and packed exquisitely. I could not tell that it had even been on test rides. The best part though is how fun it is to ride!

I've been looking at eBikes for a few years and appreciated Propel's content on YouTube - they invest a lot of time generating a ton of great content. I've spoken to at least 7 people over there, including their founder Chris. They all have been knowledgeable and competent and not overly sales-y. They steered me towards a new bike (Benno Boost) after several consults and worked to configure it via phone. It shipped fast, was packed better than any bike I've ever seen, and the post sale service seems to be just as good as pre-sale...another great sign.
