Such a wonderful park . So many things for the kids to play on and climb. They even have a special needs swing that is amazing to use. I get to sit with my daughter and push us both , it was so much fun

Nice local pickleball spot, well organized and very friendly crowd. Pull up a chair, drop off the paddle and the rotation pace is pretty fast over 6 courts. There are lights here too for night play.

This is a PUBLIC park how is it allowed that a group of people put a tape around the benches area so no one gets in for a private event?????

The playground rules still apply as adults.
Barnes Park is a public green space that
measures approximately 17 acres, and is located at the heart of Monterey Park. It seems this park was newly remodeled and upgraded. This park features a community center, basketball gym, amphitheater/memorial bowl, sheltered picnic pavilion, Olympic size pool, lighted softball field, tennis courts, and children's play area. Plenty of parking spot. Furthermore, this park has close proximity to the local police department and the Boys and Girls club. Most park goers were kids, adults and young families. Basically it's quite diverse and multicultural. I dig it. There were no homeless person lurking around when I visited so that's bloody great. Overall, this is a great park with excellent features. I highly recommend this park.

I really like this park. They have a nice walking path and lighted up at night. I feel safe walking there. There's also a playground, an amphitheater, baseball, tennis courts and it's right next to the pool. There's a big grass area on the hill and lots of picnic tables. There is plenty of parking surrounding the park.

It’s a superb place for the kids to have fun and play around. Th rides are nice and clean and well maintained. There is proper seating for the parents to sit and watch the kids while the kids have fun. There are bathrooms available but I didn’t use them.

The only Park with a playground, gym, with football field, swimming pool and a tennis court. I also forgot to mention they have theater area with chairs.

The best Park in Monterey Park. The park is filled with tables good for picnics. We go here to go walk while my son plays with his scooter.

I love it here because of its proximity to home. And I love the outdoors.

Sometimes they have Festivals here and events. So it's good to keep updated of the events on this park.

To hangout at the park isn't what it used to be..... Now everything is limited.... Empty in some way.... But you still see allot of strong spirited people around laughing and having conversations & even making new friends.
My grandson & I are always at this park playing and exercising ready for a days challenge. We are....

I have been going here since middle school and it is one of the safest parks around. It is located next to the Monterey Park police station and it has adequate lighting

I grew up around here and used to frequent this park as a teenager. At the time, I took it for granted. As I've gotten older, I really appreciate this park so much more. It's always active with so many people using it in different ways. From baseball games, running and swimming, playground laughter, to Tai Chi and even Chinese karaoke nights! There is also a beautiful lookout point from the top of the hill with views of the San Gabriel mountains and the beautiful hills that surround Monterey Park. Really, really a gem.

Awesome park. Has everything going for it. Only thing missing is outdoor basketball courts. Other than that, there is 1 baseball field, a couple of tennis courts (which 1 becomes a few pickle ball courts), a large field, a park gym, a nice play ground, a pool, a indoor basketball gym, picnic areas, and a pingpong soccer table. It just pretty crowded at night.

Small little park tucked away behind Monterey Park City Hall. There's ample space for kids at the play ground. There's a baseball field, a swimming pool and BBQ areas. A couple of tennis courts are there too. Early morning around 7 o'clock, there are groups of elderly doing Tai Chi and other dances. I've also seen groups of teenagers doing their break dancing routines in the afternoon too. Ample street parking space around the park and nearby streets.

The park has beautiful lawns, a play area for children, an exercise area. The bathroom is basic with people on staff to keep them clean and well stocked. Near the play area is a picnic area complete with a full sink and counter area set for large groups. Often, we see couples and small groups making use of these areas. There are tennis courts there. This is a very popular area for dog walkers. Trash cans are scattered for convenience. Walkers with an f without pets that I have spoken with are friendly. It is one of my favorite places to visit. Subway, a donut shop, a CVS, McDonalds, and a 7-Eleven near by.
