AMAZING SERVICE! Door to door. David is knowledgeable and experienced and frankly has the attention to detail of an artist. This is my first time owning a persian rug and I didn’t know where to start- but David not only cleaned our rug, he was able to tell us the age of it and its origin - 1940s from the border of Iran. It is a Persian Mashad. The before and after of the rug is insane, we thought we had something really special when we first got it but after David has cleaned it, it’s clear we have an heirloom on our hands. The clean rug is softer than most of my own clothes, and that is not an exaggeration. When he dropped it off, he gave us advice on orientation in our home and instructions of how to care for it/vacuum it. We will not only be taking this rug to him every five years for restoration/cleaning, but we are planning to bring all of our other rugs to him as well. Five stars! I have attached the before and after photos, the before photo is the one in our driveway. You can see how dull it was. The after photos are the ones in our home. night and day difference!

We had a great experience with this vendor. Prompt responses, very knowledgeable, incredible work cleaning and restoring our Persian and Persian style rugs, timely completion. Our rugs are back in the house and they look wonderful, almost like new. The repair work was is done so well the old damage is not discernable.

David was very knowledgeable about the type of rug I had… he just looked at it and told me where it origin was. My rug was damaged due to pet stains and after many attempts of cleaning, I ruined part of it. It was gummy and stiff as a board, after David brought it back, it was in gorgeous shape. All of the residue, odor and and stickiness was gone. Super professional, would absolutely recommend and use him for all of my rugs. Also, very affordable pricing as I have used different people in the past, and he is by far the most knowledgeable, experienced with wonderful pricing.

I felt lucky when my partner found a Persian rug for our home, but I did not anticipate how much more beautiful it would become. David’s team took care of everything, including pick up and drop off. The rug’s colors have become so vivid—even though it is primarily red my eye occasionally catches the richly saturated tones of blue. The change in texture before and after cleaning is significant: the rug has become wonderfully soft. We and our cats have been lounging about and on the rug since it was delivered back to us. David also gave us great detail about the rugs origin, age, and care techniques and even orientation. His suggestions have made the rug a beautiful center piece for our living room. The artistry, ability, and knowledge possessed by David and his team is unmatched. We plan on only using David’s cleaning service every few years as needed. With his help, we now own a beautiful heirloom that I would be proud to pass down.

Just when I thought my dogs were trained enough to lay the rug out, they chewed a large hole through the rug while I was distracted on a phone call. David has done such an amazing job restoring the rug that you could never tell it ever happened in the first place. I'm someone who is slow to trust. David exceeded my expectations. David Darmany is an exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled expert in the rug cleaning industry. Exceptional results and customer service. I lost all hope on having a beautiful oriental rug cleaned. Another company that is well known steam cleaned my rug after waiting approximately four weeks and they charged me a lot of money to clean it, only to deliver the rug in worse condition than it was when they first picked it up. I thought that there was nothing left to do until I researched the Internet and came across David Darmany‘s company and read outstanding reviews.
I could tell instantly from speaking to him on the phone that he knew his industry better than most. He was very generous with his time and extremely courteous. I scheduled an appointment with him several days later, to have him look at the rug and assess the damage. I am extremely grateful that I found his listing because he restored the rug to its original condition. It now looks as beautiful as it did when it was new and odor free. When all hope was lost, David came through! This was extremely important not just visually, but from the relief of it being odor free because I have allergies and the odor it was emitting previously was causing me sinus issues. If you have any doubts as to whether he is a viable resource, please let me assuage you of those concerns. He is worth contacting and can do wonders for rugs that are important both decoratively, or as family heirlooms. What I found most interesting was that although I thought my rug was in extremely bad shape from an odor standpoint, he actually said that compared to other rugs that he has cleaned for other clients my rug was in a lot better shape than most rugs he restores.

It was very easy to communicate with the men who were taking care of two special rugs of mine. I liked how they knew where my rugs were from and how they were made. They did a great job cleaning both of them and went out of their way to figure out how to remove stubborn stain spots that were thought to be permanent by gently trimming the area. Needed a rug cleaning/washing service and after comparing reviews, we decided to go with Darmany. They charge $6/ sqft and provide pickup and drop off service. Arranging for service was pretty easy and the rug came back clean and in great condition. I'd definitely use them again and recommend their service.

We began our relationship with David reading Yelp reviews after buying several very sandy Berber kilim rugs from an antique shop in Portugal. The rugs were very dusty and smelled like a camel.
The edges of one had unique notched triangular fringe and needed refreshing and repairs.
It took several months to work our way thru the cleaning/repairs for all of them but we’re so impressed we had him clean and repair our Chinese Aubusson and Iranian area rugs too, which look like new now!

We love the Berber ottoman cover he dropped by with two weeks ago and today he showed us some a couple oversized pillow covers to match. We feel very fortunate to have met David. Our rugs look fantastic, like new, and we are thrilled with his suggestions for our interior decor.

Darmany Rugs is a godsend if you own beautiful Oriental and Persian rugs that you need repaired and cleaned in Los Angeles. David Darmany is an exacting professional, extremely ethical in his dealings, and trustworthy in advising and executing repairs of cherished heirlooms. I was anxious about having extensive repairs done on my 1930s, 10 x 12' Persian Heriz rug, which David advised be sent overseas to be repaired due to cost--never having done business with Darmany. The effusive 5 star reviews and meeting David in his shop eased my fears. While the entire process took months due to the extent of the repairs combined with Covid obstructions, David and his assistant delivered the rug today. Generously moving furniture and placing it in the living room. I'm amazed at the quality of the workmanship! One cannot tell that the rug was ever damaged or where the damage was on the rug. It all looks original! I'm having David take more rugs now that I see the incredible results and understand the process. You can absolutely trust David Darmany with your most treasured rugs.

David was great. Cleaned , repaired and restored our oriental rug perfectly . Our dog had damaged the binding and you would never know that it was repaired. He provided alternative solutions and communicated the progress. He is truly a craftsman.
