We had wonderful service. Lovely smiles from the whole crew. A family member fell in love with Sashimi salmon. Overall our favorite dish was the Salmon.

Absolutely delicious sushi here at 39 degrees!🍣🍥🍜🍤👏🏼 came for a Bday dinner and we sat at the bar area. Really cool to see the Sushi chef's do their thang, It was a cold night so Had to try some Udon Tempura of course; it definitely hit the spot! Teriyaki chicken was nice and saucey plus tender, it paired well with everything.
Parking can be found out back or more like a small drive way along side of the building, depending which direction you came.
The restaurant is right at the corner, I've driven past it many times before but can now add it to a short list of awesome sushi spots in the Area! ✌
They had alot of vegan options as well*.

Sushi by 39 has fantastic and creative rolls and delightful sashimi specialties. We tried a variety of dishes, including the Sashimi Platter, LAPD (poke on crispy wonton skin), LB Roll with jalapeno on top, Jekyll and Hyde (albacore wrapped around spicy tuna), Spicy Edamame (freshly made), Cincinnati Roll (salmon on top), and a sweet ending with Mango Sticky Rice.

The flavors were outstanding, and the freshness of the fish really stood out. Each dish was presented beautifully, especially the sashimi platter. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it an impressive dining experience.

Their parking lot isn't huge, but there are enough spots. The service is fast and friendly. If you're unsure about what to order, don't hesitate to ask the server for recommendations--you might be surprised. The interior is cozy, with a cute Christmas tree, feels like dining at a friends house. I left with a full and happy stomach. Solid 5 stars--I can't wait to return and try more dishes!

This is my new fave sushi place! The fish tastes fresh and the combinations are delicious! They even have a vegetation option! I really like the candy roll and the sunset one. Have ordered take out and eaten in the restaurant. It is a small place and gets packed so plan to wait a bit on busy nights (usually only about 20min wait).

Upon entering I was greeted with great smiles and kindness from all of the staff which made me feel comfortable. Food was amazing and they even have happy hour. Seemed to be clean, which I'm very big on since LA is so disguisting!! Took a minute for them to realize I was ready to pay but overall good experience.

Stopped by this local spot to grab some sushi. They did not disappoint! I ordered the Chef’s Choice sushi plate and an order of shrimp tempura. Everything was great. I watched as they carefully sliced the fresh fish and form the rice balls by hand. The tempura was crunchy, the salad was fresh, and even though I took it to go, the miso soup was still hot when I arrived home and ate it. This will be a go-to for me. The menu shows a lot of options on their lunch menu that are nicely priced.
The parking can be an issue. It’s in a small strip center and parking can be a challenge. Be patient, it does not take long for a space to open. I’d walk a couple of blocks for a meal here.
Next time I will try some of their fun rolls like the LB and Sunset on Second.

We placed a big pick up order while staying nearby. It was fast, fresh, delicious and very convenient. The California rolls, baked lobster roll, crunchy roll and yellowtail nigiri were all great and everything was quickly devoured. The atmosphere during pickup was cozy and dim and seemed like a great spot to dine in as well. Recommend the joint.

It was delicious! I had the sushi chef select my food and he did not disappoint. The food is good. The restaurant is small. And the staff was efficient with clearing the table.
I would definitely go back but I'd probably get my food to go. There was a couple sitting next to me and they said way more than I needed to hear.

Came here for happy hour and the deals really were amazing! We got poke, two orders of sashimi, and two rolls for $40. The sushi was super fresh and the Sumo Roll was especially delicious and crunchy!

I will say they service was a bit off. They seemed very overwhelmed and not familiar with the menu, but I’ll chalk that up to new servers and pandemic adjustments. It certainly won’t keep me from coming back. I can’t wait for the next happy hour!

Came to Long Beach, CA. for the Fourth of July weekend and came to eat at 39 Degrees for some sushi. Service was great and our sushi came out quickly too. Everything was delicious and tasty. Would definitely be back when I’m the area again. No complaints here. 👍🏽

The Black Pearl is delicious ESPECIALLY with the Kikkoman Soy Sauce. I highly recommend The Black Pearl as a Vegan sushi option (make sure to request the Vegan option since the meal of/on the 39 Degrees menu is originally Vegetarian) without a slimy avocado texture (I like avocado though the texture is not always pleasant in sushi, to me). In my experience, customer service is on point. I think the pricing is decent, and Happy Hour sushi prices look even better. The establishment accepts Samsung Pay.

I went n got Ingrid some tempura made fresh to go I got it about a 15 minute wait but it was made fresh n while waiting I was standing waitress asked me if I wanted to sit down any table you like I did n she brought me a glass of ice water which she went out of her way to do Asian lady very polite very nice as for the back there was a curtain they open n closed to the kitchen for some reason the guy in the back gave me a dirty look n closed the curtain I don't know who he was dishwasher maybe usually I would say what's your problem but I kept quiet 🤐 but he was rude n I didn't like his attitude all in all that doesn't change the fact that the waitress was awesome the food was great n it was a nice place to bad they have a rude employee you get people in your business like that best thing is to get rid of them

This is a great spot if you happen to find yourself craving sushi while in the downtown long beach area. Parking is really limited though and we were lucky enough to park in a laundromat nearby without getting towed. The venue itself is quite small id say about 15-20 tables but the service is good and unless you find yourself waiting for a table you are usually done quite quickly. We shared a bit of everything my personal favorites were the fantastic roll, salmon sashimi, and spider roll. Great place i'll be back if i'm in the area craving sushi.

This place is amazing! Low key authentic type place where the food will pleasantly surprise you with their creative twist on some sushi classics. The service is top notch which elevates the entire experience. Would definitely recommend you stop by!

This is the best sushi place I've ever eaten at. Food was perfect. Sam was our waitress and was amazing!

One of my top 3 sushi places in the Long Beach area. We have been visiting new sushi houses recently and this one rises to the top 3 in LB. The chef pointed out the gluten free options and the Rainbow roll was great! The rest of our party had the Lynn roll - which they loved! Online ordering was seamless and there was adequate parking.
