Wow. Do not pass this gem by. Tucked away in a plaza in San Gabriel valley is a Chinese bakery with some deliciously crafted and reasonably priced treats.

Do not sleep on the po tarts. If you only get one thing, get these. Deliciously fluffy and smooth egg custard is nestled in some of the flakiest softest pastry dough I’ve had. Ours were fresh out of the oven, which made them taste incredible. Be warned though - they can run out. If you really want to lock some down, you can special order ahead of time.

I would also highly recommend the taro delight, which is a ball of taro paste housed in a swirl of purple dough. Then pastry was light - and the filling was light, smooth and not too sweet. We also enjoyed the napoleon, flaky pastry lightly layered with walnuts and some sort of cream layered in. The pork floss bun was interesting, a fluffy roll with a sweet pork coating. Next time I would be interested to try more of their savory offerings as well. They also make beautiful cakes and fruit tarts to order as well.

The interior is small and simple, with only one table as an option for seating so the shop is more of just a place to grab your goods as opposed to sitting for a while. I would highly recommend to stop in to experience the goodness!!

Get their Mango cake if you come here because you won't regret it. Their Mango cake is delicious and spot on. There plenty of parking here so you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot. You order at the front entrance because they closed off the inside of the store. They do get busy later in the day but if you come in the morning, you shouldn't have any issues. My sister also got their Steamed BBQ bun here and she liked it.

Mango 🎂 Cake!! I came here after seeing other photos of their Mango Cake on google maps. I’ve never seen a cake like this around. It’s slices of mangos on a white cake with white cream and mango chunks on the inside.
We loved it! It was so fresh.
Will come back to try their other items.

This bakery has the best Chicken Pies I know of! Perfectly flaky and buttery with seasoned meat. Also their Egg tarts are fantastic as well. Right now they have a pickup window at the door that you order from. There's a $12 minimum purchase for card payments.

I tried the egg tart. A Friend gave me one and it was the most delicious dessert I have ever ate. I am definitely going on my own now. I'm exited to see what other goodies they have...

The delicious Egg tarts and Milk tarts (po tarts) are made on site so they're very fresh. Free parking lot and 2 small tables inside in case you want to eat pastries after purchase.

The 2 young ladies running the front of the store were very pleasant, fluent in English and didn't mind answering my questions.

The baked and steamed pork buns were ok. Flavor is not too sweet nor too salty and they don't use food coloring for the pork filling. However, the baked pineapple pork buns are so popular they were sold out by the time I got there at 2p on a Sunday.

Update: In addition to the egg tarts and po tarts (Portuguese style milk tarts), I’m also quite fond of the curry beef pie and pineapple custard bun (baked).

The portuguese egg tarts are great here. The flavor is close to the originals in Macau but the crust is not the same. They often sell out by 4 to 430pm so come before then.

Best bakery in Monterey Park. Known for their egg tarts! Conveniently located next to LA Fitness.

The Po Tarts and Chicken Pot Pie are the best! The flakiness of the pastry is unbelievable. The Po tart is more of a creamy custard than egg tarts that I really like.
The bread is also a really good soft, chewy, and sweet taste and texture. Got the sponge cake once and it was good too!
The steamed buns are also pretty good. We like the pork and cabbage one. They taste good even if you keep them in the fridge and then steam it a couple of days later!
The prices are actually really good, and they package every for you. Sad they have limited hours though! However, definitely recommend if in the area and they happen to be open.

Portuguese egg tart is really the only thing you should get here. It's the best! I love that it is not eggy.

These Po Tarts hit the spot! Flaky, buttery crust and velvety smooth custard = bomb-digggity!! Don’t bother getting anything else. The hot dog bread is meh, and the chicken and curry pies are ok. Just spend all your monies and calories on the Po Tarts, trust me.

Very nice staff. Mango cake is to die for. One of the young girls helped me carry my order to the car. I thought that was really sweet. Great steam pork bun too!

They have the best egg tarts and Portuguese egg tarts. My family loves buying the durian birthday cake from here. They have good cakes and breads.

Best egg tarts in town! Their regular ones and Portuguese ones are both excellent. Definitely worth stopping by for them if you're craving egg tarts, but go earlier. They usually sell out by 3p on weekends.

The best egg tarts and portguese egg tarts! I’m from Bay Area and honestly this is way better than golden gate bakery. Coming back every time we are in town!
