Angelus Rosedale Cemetery

We've had referred a couple families to Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, and all families have been satisfied with the service. The prices and customer service is awesome! The times I have called and tried arranging services it's been an easy process with Rudy C. he's very friendly and professional. I recommend Rudy and Angelus Rosedale Cemetery 100%.

Walked in the office, Got exceptional service right when I walked in to the front desk. Everything was great! Would recommend this place to any family member.

We went to see historic figure Maria Rasputin daughter of the one and only Rasputin. The experience was very enlightening, the grave yard very beautiful and well taken care off especially on how old it is.

Looks like a nice cemetery. Would haunt as a ghost.

Historic Los Angeles cemetery. Although Hattie McDaniel is here, the entirety of the graveyard is even more interesting.

First, there are incredible family crypts, pyramids, and statuary here. It's fascinating to walk through and see the various sections that document Los Angeles' history. Rosedale was also the first cemetery open to all races and religions in Los Angeles.

While it is true that the grass is brown in many places, I don't feel like it detracts from the place. There is a beauty and peacefulness here. Lots of old trees and consequently, some urban wildlife. I regularly see a pair of red tailed hawks that live here.

While visiting hours are limited, it's worth taking some time to explore this beautiful bit of Los Angeles history.

A pleasant place to reflect on your relatives, friends and others who have died and are at rest in a peaceful, pleasant, tranquil and at all times pristine cemetery. My surviving family have chosen this location as their final resting place in their wills and I have no qualms about executing their request.

Eric Allan Dolphy, Jr. (June 20, 1928 – June 29, 1964) was an American jazz alto saxophonist, bass clarinetist and flautist. On a few occasions, he also played the clarinet and piccolo. Dolphy was one of several multi-instrumentalists to gain prominence around the time that he was active. His use of the bass clarinet helped to establish the instrument within jazz. Dolphy extended the vocabulary and boundaries of the alto saxophone, and was among the earliest significant jazz flute soloists.

His improvisational style was characterized by the use of wide intervals, in addition to using an array of extended techniques to emulate the sounds of human voices and animals. Although Dolphy's work is sometimes classified as free jazz, his compositions and solos were often rooted in conventional (if highly abstracted) tonal bebop harmony and melodic lines that suggest the influences of modern classical composers such as Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky...

Wonderful to visit if you enjoy old graveyards. Many beautiful crypts and statues.
