Naomeh Mashhood DDS

I have been going to Dr. Mashhood for many years, she did a root canal the first time I went there with severe pain. About 6 years ago I fractured a tooth badly, she saved it for me with a crown, she always explains clearly as what's needed and why, I have never had any problems with her work. I was there for routine exam and cleaning, I showed her a sensitive tooth, and she showed me the problem and fixed it with a bonding. She is passionate about her work, I highly recommend her.

Dr. Mashhood has been my dentist for over a decade. I see her four times a year. She has taken excellent care of my beautiful smile and I have her to thank for the fact that my teeth still look great!

I have found her to be gentle, caring and compassionate. She takes her time with you. She is incredibly gracious and communicates very well with her patients.

My family has a history of gum disease and she is very attentive to all facets of my care. I regularly have a deep cleaning to stave off gum deterioration and I have never had one bad experience in the decade I have been seeing her for my care!

I would highly recommend her to my friends and family!

Incredible staff and service! Dr Mashhood and her team are nothing less than amazing. Starting with the office assistant Eli, who made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The dental assistant Shauna who also made me comfortable and had assured me that i made the right decisions in choosing Dr Mashhood. And finally Dr Mashhood herself! Honest, transparent, efficient, and professional. I can tell you, if youre someone that cant handle the truth then Dr Mashhood should not be your dentist! And the fact is if you want the perfect smile, but arent born with it, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT! Me being from NY i appreciated Dr Mashhoods honesty and professional recommendation . I let her do the work under complete trust and in the end she handed me a $1100 bill and i was MORE than happy to pay it after looking at the end results! Dr Mashhood and her team are true professionals and if you live in the area id highly suggest you make her your dentist. She will absolutely be mine going forward! Thanks again Dr Mashhood and team!

TLDR: Up-selling services, scare tactics, manipulation, terrible service (under 10 minute job for a routine "cleaning" which was just a polishing). I had such a negative experience I reported this office to the Dental Board of California.

I went to Naomeh Mashhood, DDS on Monday, 1/22/2024, for a routine dental cleaning. I get routine cleanings every 6 months and I take very good care of my teeth, flossing every day. I had to leave my previous dentist because they no longer accept my insurance. Naomeh's office refused to accept my dental history or xrays from my previous dentist that I had been seeing regularly for years, they insisted on taking xrays of my teeth themselves and never looked at my record or tooth history.

Within the first 10 minutes of my meeting with Naomeh Mashhood, she told me that I needed to have 2 teeth pulled, that my spacing in my teeth could negatively affect the way my teeth grow in, that I need to buy her "specialized mouth guard" for my two front teeth which she said could snap in half because they have jagged ends on them. Right off the bat, she was using scare tactics to make me uncomfortable and uneasy. I have never had any of these issues brought up to me by other patience. She later in the session said "well we don't need to take the two teeth out right now".

Then, Naomeh Mashhood told me that they were going to perform a "deep cleaning" on me, she diagnosed this just with her eyes, without measuring or using a perio probe. By researching it, these deep cleans are only necessary in severe cases of gum disease like gingivitis and periodontitis. She was going to go ahead and start the deep clean without telling me that it would not be covered by my insurance and that there would be a charge of $440.00.

When I pushed back to her and told her that I did not want the deep clean, I just wanted the routine teeth cleaning covered by my insurance she said "we can do the routine cleaning but that is not what you need" insisting I needed the deep clean. I refused. Her idea of my "routine cleaning" was for her to use a water pick on my teeth for not even 3 minutes (I was keeping track of the time on my phone) and then her hygienist polished my teeth for about 6-7 minutes.

I have never had a teeth cleaning that is under 30 minutes in my life, she didn't scrape any tartar or anything. They clearly are just in it for the money, now she will get paid for a poor excuse for a cleaning and I lose my bi-annual cleaning coverage to a scam artist. I found her on yelp and although she has a lot of good reviews, she also has a LOT of 1-star reviews describing exactly what I went through. Please put a stop to this, I saw an older woman leaving before me who said it was all "too much" I can only imagine how they can manipulate their older patients. This woman and her staff are criminals for the way they upcharge their patience and use scare tactics.

I called Blue Shield Insurance to file a complaint but we had to do so without a claim on file, Naomeh Mashhood refuses to file a claim for my visit, her receptionist put the Blue Shield rep on hold for 20 minutes (to avoid talking to him).

I have visited another dentist on 2/8/2024 to ask for a second opinion, dr. Ellis Wong's office, trusted dentist of mine and several other friends - I would recommend him and his staff to anyone - and they said that all of these claims Naomeh Mashhood made are false. I do not need a deep clean, they were shocked that Dr. Mashhood did not even measure the sockets in my teeth for said "deep clean" diagnosis, my two front teeth look perfectly normal, I can have that wisdom tooth removed but it is not pressing. My hygienist laughed when I told her that I had received a "cleaning" from Naomeh Mashhood just 2 weeks earlier, she said it didn't look like anything had been done.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews but this office just wants to sell you things you don’t need done. A deep cleaning, 4 fillings - I even got charged $9 for a “co-pay” which i believe they just made up because my new dentist doesn’t charge a co-pay. I have the same insurance, nothing changed. Anyway, just went to a new dentist today and my teeth are fine. Beware!

In my experience she was a drill-to-pay-the-bills dentist. I regret that I trusted her with my teeth — she filled them all, and with no cavities present. I learned afterwards that she recommended root canals a coworker didn’t need. Your teeth are with you for life and it’s good to find a dentist that puts that about their finances. I wish I got a second opinion and never let her touch my teeth!

Another tooth is breaking apart after asking her to stop your going to damage my teeth her reply I have to do this to get your teeth clean mr. WARREN then keep going.

Worst dentist ever if you care about your smile I recomend you find yourself a real dentist.
