Bluefin Sushi and Roll

This place is an amazing sushi restaurant the music was lively and the Old man was so sweet. I ordered the catapiler roll and the Philadelphia roll. The atmosphere was great it smelled like the ocean. The seats were comfortable. This is a great place to come after swim practice. If the owner is reading this I want to say thank you for the food. It was delicious.

My wife and I have been coming here for years and only recently we decided to hop on the Metro and bring our daughters (1.5 and 4.5 y.o.); this place is an amazing small spot and quite possibly the best South Pasadena sushi spot.

The staff is really nice and there is just something about the chef that makes you like him. They have always been attentive and good with us.

For those who complain about portions, this is definitely not “all you can eat” so don’t expect it because this far exceeds the quality of the AYCE spots by at least a mile.

Try the Chuka Iidako and the Tako Wasabi to start and go with the Salmon Avocado Salad and go from there. Finish off with ice cream down the street 😬

My new secret sushi spot. Absolutely fresh and flavorful fish. Service is a little backed up due to high customer volume. But great sushi and sashimi.

Warning good prices but servings are smaller than most places because the fish is very fresh and high quality and may take some time as does anything good. Only come here if you really appreciate quality sushi.

This place is really excellent. My wife and I found it two weeks ago and we've been there three times already. Great quality ingredients and masterful execution. Also, really affordable. The salad - of all things - is amazing (farmers market greens with an excellent dressing). I've never been a big fan of the California roll, but there's is super good. The spicy tuna - so often nothing special - is a new bench mark. All of the sushi has a perfect rice to fish ratio. Hands down the best rainbow roll I've had so far, and I've had many. The menu is minimal, but, to do a few things and do them well should be celebrated. Chill vibes, great service, and right at the South Pasadena Gold Line stop. Recommended!

Of all the sushi places we've tried in South Pasadena, this is the best! The sushi is fresh and delicious. Even my picky eater loves the cucumber roll and my ten-year-old dreams of their unagi rolls. Delicious food

Excellent, fresh and very tasty sushi. I've been there almost a dozen times and always walked out satisfied, not hungry and happy that I found the place. It is a small restaurant and sometimes you may have to wait, but they take reservations. I'm taking my date for his first visit and I'm positive that he'll enjoy it just as much. Highly recommended!

Fairly good cut rolls for the price, have yet to try the single pieces or sashimi.
Friendly staff, and fairly easy access, street parking right outside.
Next to a boba shop so you can get some milk tea with your sushi.
Wish there was more of a selection, but can't complain for the price.

Bluefin is a quiet sushi restaurant that focuses on the food quality. There’s not an endless menu of rice-heavy rolls with gobs of cream sauces. They don’t push big beer pitchers. Pretty sure there’s no flatscreen TVs.

Sushi at Bluefin is well prepared and portioned well for modest appetites. The fish-to-rice ratio is excellent and both the fish and rice are good quality. Menu is limited in range but for a small neighborhood spot that is budget-friendly, it works. There’s only one chef - the owner, I’m guessing, and so during dinner the wait for food can be long because the restaurant does a lot of take out orders.

The cut rolls have very little rice which is great. This is not a cheap place but they seem really focused on take out. So it's perfect for these days. Usually don't give any reviews for take out, but this place is great take out.

Got the Hawaiian roll. Very delicious and came pretty quick. Come here for great sushi on the go! ❤

This is a cozy place to munch on sushi and has a good view of the Gold Line. The staff is friendly, the food is fresh and tasty and the prices are reasonable.
