Hank's Mini Market

So all I know is that I been passing Hanks for over 8 years, and my thoughts was always: How do they stay Open?🤔Well, not sure if there was A change of owwnership, or just an upgrade. Anyway Praise the Lord. It's Awesome. Just what the neighborhood needed. I'm so Happy to Welcome the new Hanks Market.

Super friendly and helpful. Store is well organized and has fresh and healthy foods. Great for a quick snack or pick up items to make a meal with. Really glad to have a community-enriching space like this in Hyde Park.

I was skating by this place on the way to the next skate park and it is phenomenal. Pro-black art and nice staff, a table to sit and eat. It's truly a convience store. The owners clearly care about the futures and long-term lives of black Americans.

Cleaning supplies, pet food, alcohol and healthy snacks/drinks. It's awesome!

Regularly pass by and stopped in to explore and by some candy for something quick to eat.

But found a section with cooked meals such as Blackened Fish and others. It all looked good. I chose Jamaican Jerk Chicken with Kale and Carrots, and Quinoa and black lentil salad. All on a compostable plate.

The young lady at the counter was nice and gave me a fork. I ate it in the car. Omg. If you are like me, needing to eat well and healthy to give you strength, but have no time to cook and most of the places serve heart attack food, stop by here. The preparation of the food was careful; the kale and carrot side was sautéed in coconut oil. The Jerk Chicken was the right kind of spicy and it was perfectly charred like BBQ!

I will be back, young lady!

Hank's has recently been remodled! April 2018, Hank's reopened with a brand new look and everyone in the community and old and new customers are all loving it! Hank's has convenient hours, offers items not available for at least 1 mile in every direction like: fresh produce, almond milk, and service with a smile. Hank's is a family owned and operated business (2nd generation). Bottom line-syop by and support this business! The sense of community (hence the large "Stronger Together" mural featured on the side of the building), and efforts to offer healthy and fresh food to promote healthy living in a community in Los Angeles that desperately needs these things exemplify the spirit and morale of HANK'S!

Always having something festive for the community but they are high

I think it's awesome to have and support small businesses within the community especially when they are customer service and minority/diversity oriented; but yet I haven't been very successful when trying to visit this market. Would somebody please update the hours please.

The only inconvenience I found is that I couldn't park in the disabled space... I have a disabled plate due to a foot disease that doesn't allow me to walk long distances and whenever I've stopped to buy, there is no place for me to park, because there is always a car across the disabled space and said car does not have any disabled license plate... it is there as if on a whim.... In my opinion, the parking law should be respected. Have more respect with the disabled who want to spend their money in that location.

El unico inconveniente que encontre es que no pude parquear en el espacio de desabilitados...Yo tengo placa de desabilitado por una enfermedad en los pies que no me permite caminar largas distancias y siempre que he parado a comprar, no hay lugar para que yo parquee, porque siempre esta un carro atravesado en el espacio de desabilitados y dicho carro no tiene ninguna placa de desabilitado..esta alli como por capricho....En mi opinion se deberia respetar la ley de parqueo. Tener mas respeto con los desabilitados que desean gastar su dinero en dicha locacion.

Google says they close at 10pm! I ran to the store anyways and got there at 9:15 and they wouldn’t let me BUY ONE THING! And I had cash in hand, LITERALLY showing them the money... Update google if your gonna close early!
