Central Inn Motel

I loved this hotel. It has a private entrance, private parking, spacious rooms with deadbolt locks, toiletries, very clean. A king size bed in my room that was so soft I fell asleep without having to take my medication! The Office personnel is very friendly, professional and respectful. Being from Las Vegas, they gave me directions to get there. They saved the room for me. All other hotels were full and this was an unplanned trip. I slept like a Baby. The gave me advice as to where to go to get food the night I arrived. Very helpful and caring. If I am ever again in that area I will definitely will stay there.

Actually this is the former site of the Black Panther Party’s LA office at which the LAPD attacked the people inside, allegedly looking for shooters. They used military to force them out under fire. Vietnam Veterans who were members saved the lives of dozens on that day to enable them to surrender peacefully. Other South Central institutions have used the multi use building which wraps around the corner including a daily community newspaper and other political campaigns. Maybe it’s a cheap motel these days…

We stayed for a vacation to universal studios and the beach. It wasn’t too far from either and also had convenience stores within walking distance for anything we needed. There was a really good taco stand across the street, everything around was fair priced which is great if you’re on a budget. They were great with our service dog and there’s a really nice park a 2 min drive away big enough to give him plenty of exercise. Overall they helped us with any questions or requests we had. Would definitely stay here again.

My favorite stay in South Central. Perfect location lots of local restaurants and entertainment.

I stayed at Central Inn Motel on South Central during a weekend trip to LA. The location may not be in THE absolute NICEST part of town, but regarding the WHERE from an accessibility perspective, it's great. About 4 miles from the Staples Center (I flew to town for a Lakers game), 2 miles from USC's campus, about ~35mins from LAX (if no traffic), about ~25mins from Hollywood Boulevard, and about 25-30mins from the Santa Monica pier area. Very easy to Uber/Lyft around. There isn't much to eat/do around the area (there's a McDonalds and a Subway within 1/4mile and a couple convenience stores), but it's easy to get TO where the things to do are.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Nobody was rude to me; everyone was courteous. My card lost its ability to open my room door, and the fella at the front desk quickly fixed it for me. I also got back late one night and needed some ice. There isn't an ice machine on site, but the kind fella behind the desk hooked me up and put some ice in a baggie for me, just what I needed! That was much appreciated!

The room was perfectly clean when I walked on. Furniture is all wooden, no microwave or fridge or anything. It's a basic room, but, in my mind, very fairly priced. It's all you'll need! Towels were clean, hot water worked fine, king bed was comfy, AC turned right on and kept the room cool at night. TV was way bigger than expected (~50" maybe?)

Overall, a great place to stay without being charged an arm 'n leg! I'd recommend to anybody who is looking for a solid place just to crash in at night and doesn't mind a relatively short Uber ride to bigger known areas. Thanks for a positive stay!

They are clean! The pricing is about the same as other local spots maybe a few bucks less. They have free wifi and good cable chanels. They have softdrink vending machines and the owners are nice people. Its comfortable and clean!

Idk why this is considered a two star hotel. Every single person that works at this establishment is excellent in every way, their customer service is unmatched and their dedication to 100% clean

Just check in 9/13/17, flat screen TV, nice wooden floor, a/c works perfect, showers have a nice pressure. No complaint, price is fair .
