Exceptional Care from a Compassionate Family Medicine Doctor

As a patient of 4 years and MD myself, I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional care that I have received from Dr. Mellon. From the moment I walked into his office, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the front staff, which instantly put me at ease. I am genuinely surprised by the prior negative reviews, as I have yet to have any experiences remotely close to those.

Dr. Mellon is not only highly knowledgeable and skilled but also genuinely compassionate and caring. He takes the time to listen attentively, understand my concerns, and explain medical conditions and treatments in a way that is easy to understand. His approach to healthcare is holistic, considering every aspect of my wellbeing, not just the physical symptoms.

Again his front office staff (Nubia and Paula) is equally commendable, courteous, and efficient. Appointments are easy to schedule, and wait times are minimal. The clinic environment is clean and comfortable, contributing to an overall positive experience.

I am confident in Dr. Mellon's medical expertise. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking top-notch, compassionate care in family medicine.

I NEVER give ratings but I felt a strong need this time. After over 10 years with the same doctor, I was forced (by my insurance company) to select a new one.

My previous doctor was a dream. He was our family doctor (my husband and two adult sons). From day one, he was a good old time, “real doctor” who walked in, closed the door, sat down and asked me how am I doing and if I have any concerns.

After looking through hundreds of names I settled on Dr. Mellon. His office was close to home and I got a good feeling from his website. I scheduled my first appointment and waited with great anticipation to meet my new doctor. First appointments are generally a little longer than an average doctor appointment. In preparation, I downloaded and completed the new patient forms and listed some questions for him…5 questions. Upon arrival to his office for my 9:40 a.m. appointment, I notice a photo of Dr Mellon taped on the wall inviting everyone to listen to and/or download his new single on iTunes. There’s another sign “Please be courteous to the staff. They deserve it.” I was disappointed not to get a “good morning” or “welcome to Dr. Mellon’s office”. Not even a smile. Dr. Mellon arrived at the office at 10:00 a.m. and entered the examination room where I was waiting at 10:23! After my second question Dr. Mellon rolled his eyes (not the same courtesy he’s expecting for his staff) and asked how many more. He stated that he doesn’t really have time to go through all of the questions patients may have so he generally handles whatever is most important and will deal with everything else on the next appointment. I told Dr. Mellon that everything on my list was important to me and that I wasn’t aware there was a limit on the number of questions I could ask or that I was on a time limit. One of the most horrible doctor experiences I have ever had. Needless to say he is not my doctor anymore. That one visit was enough for me. I couldn’t get out of there and rid of him fast enough.

I chose Dr. Mellon after researching the schools he graduated from. A couple of friends mines attended Meharry, so I figured why not give him a try. Dr. Mellon is a bit aloof, but that did not trouble me. It did bother me when I arrived at 10:00AM for my last appointment, which I paid for in the amount of $175.00 out of pocket, since I was between insurances. I was not called to see the doctor for a hour and 15 minutes. Try being 1 1/4 late for any doctor's appointment and good lucky with being seen. The main problem was not with Dr. Mellon, but Bertha his office manager. As someone previously note his staff is not a happy group. No welcoming smile or hello. The place is totally devoid of warmth. As a family\general physician, I personally belief that is important attribute to possess. After a couple of negative experiences with this office, I decided to seek health services elsewhere. If Dr. Mellon and his staff can't provide an inviting and considerate environment I was certain I could find a doctor that would and so I did.

Dr Mellon had mishandled a PI case in which I could have gotten lots of money out of. I was involved in a car accident in which a person had hit me pretty hard from behind, the impact was hard enough for it to cause concerns about possible damage to my back. I went to go see Dr Mellon, to go get my back checked out but he had opened up the idea of opening up a PI case so that I can get some money out of the accident. He referred me to get diagnostics done and scheduled a date for me to come back and see him. I lost my insurance before I got the chance to see him again because I had been insured through my moms employer and she had gotten fired. I tried seeing him but the lady upfront said it would have costed $175 JUST TO SEE HIM. I decided that I would wait to get insurance coverage before deciding to see him again. I finally was able to get affordable insurance and schedule an appointment to see Dr Milano after 6 months the time I saw him. When I finally saw him again he told me that a PI case never opened, and now it’s too late to open up that case. I am now dealing with back issues that could potentially put me out of work and now I cannot get the owed money that I deserve. DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC’S SERVICES!!!

One of the worst experiences I had ever had. Do not go here. The office looks so old I thought it was a run down building. I had a scheduled appointment for 9am the door was closed. The receptionist walks to the door 9:01 opens door at 9:03. Doctor isn't here till 9:58 I'm inside waiting. He comes in starts interrogating me asks me yes or no questions and gives me attitude. One of the worst experiences of my
Life. They don't even have the right equipment... what a gross place. Never ever coming back here.

This doctor is VERY rude and made me feel like my concerns were not legit concerns. Like the other reviewer said he has a nasty attitude and he is lazy and makes the patients feel as if there is no hope but to be put on medication...it is a shock that he offers natural remedies and supports medicinal marijuana when all he wants to do is prescribe medication! This doctor is by far the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life!

My grandma had this doctor and she would cry every time when seeing him. He prescribed her medicine she wasn't supposed to be taking and now another doctor has to try to make her feel better and make sure nothing's wrong. He never scheduled her appointments to see certain doctors for womanly issues that is a must to get checked. Over all this doctor was plain horrible I would not recommend

Didn't listen at all. Didn't say hello. Did interrupt. Then, he got frustrated and left. His office staff apologized. This was a waste of time and money.
