Whittwood Shoes

On way to dinner and stopped in to look at shoes. This is an historic place. Growing up in Whittier, I would frequent this store. It has moved since then, and now I know where it is. Great customer service, attentive, personable. Very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. I purchased a beautiful pair of sandles for summer. 50% off too. Sale going on now. Happy Summer solstice everyone. Great store for hard to fit foot. Narrow, medium, wide. Large selection for all. Tennis shoe, walking shoes. Purses, handbag, clutches. Ted hose in assorted colors. Comfortable seating too. Convenient parking, disabled friendly . Easy seen from BEACH BLVD. Across from Sam's Club. 1/2 mile approx from Imperial Hwy. Great experience.

I experienced foot pain most of my life until a family member recommended SAS shoes. 2 days after purchasing the shoes for $285, my foot pain went away. I wore these shoes every day for 3 years. These shoes are so good that they withstood my 400 lbs. I now weigh 250 lbs. I purchased $55 shoes and my foot pain returned. I plan to buy 3 pairs of SAS shoes soon.

My experience was so different than others had. Both women were extremely helpful! I asked about the previous reviews which were negative and found out that the employee no longer works there. If you need good comfortable walking shoes, this is the place to come!

There was three women in the store Judy Rebecca and Lisa and they were all very pleasant an professional...btw have been here about 3 or 4 times an each time I leave a satisfied customer the quality is amazing.

My friend and I visited the store yesterday. We went to BUY a pair of good walking sandals. My friend, was delighted to see the brands on display that she has currently been buying as they fit her well and are comfortable. However, the saleslady was less than friendly. We both had a specific style in mind and my friend especially wanted nothing else but black sandals. Some sizes were not available in the style my friend liked so she asked for a different style. The saleslady brought out numerous shoe styles including shoes my friend had not asked her to bring. Meanwhile I also, was asking for a different style and I tried on a pair I was seriously thinking of buying, although I was worried about the Velcro on the straps wearing out. I had on a pair that the leather on the straps had curled up as the velcro in different places did not hold. So I was running this through my mind. The shoe cost $148.00 and I wanted to be sure it was going to last awhile. I was also bringing my friend styles that I thought she might like and we asked the saleslady to get that style for us. At one time the sales lady began slamming shoes back into the boxes and stated she had brought out far to many shoe styles. Finally she told us, " I have brought you too many shoes, you are not going to buy anything,you are wasting my time and that is not fair to me." and she refused to bring us any more shoes to try. We had no other recourse to do but leave the store. That is really too bad. My friend was in town for a visit from Beaumont and had just remarked to me that I would have to bring her to Whittwood Shoes each time she came to visit. That will NEVER happen again!!!! I gave this more than 1 star because we did like the shoes. If that woman was the manager, or owner of the store, its a wonder they sell any shoes at all.

We have bought shoes here for many years. I came back today with a problem. It wasn't an easy one to solve; I understand the out come, however, I was treated very poorly. The sales staff was condescending, and not helpful and certainly not friendly about it. I know what it is like in retail and many times decisions can be out of our control. But the treatment I received today will with out a doubt keep me from going back again. Sorry Whittwood Shoes you lost my business.

on 9/18/2018, i entered the store 10 min. before closing, at lease that what the Alexia told me, not a manager a sales person, working with Luis. When I realize that she wanted to leave I had Luis bring out the shoes 928v3 size 8b, 8c, and 8.5b, 8.5c, tried them quickly and told Luis to put them away as I tried them and walk around fast. I was going to have the girl Alexia tag them, so I could try them tomorrow, she was angry and upset, then I said I buy them 8c, well I gave her the visa card she wanted my DMV license. I got angry also, I told her to write my DMV on the receipt, she said we usually don't okay I will. Her remark to me was you come here late I want to get home to my baby, your speaking to me while I count the money, you always come here late on numberous occassions. then argued I was rude to her. I don't need that treatment, she is a sales person who suppose to be nice and helpful. Luis stood quite, and walked to the back not to put away the shoes and keep busy in the back, which I wanted them to leave early I hurried as much as I could. This girl should not be working there, a good sales person might once in while have to stay over that is what sales are all about. I work at a Community College and if I were to do what this girl did to me she would be written up fast and brought into the Dean Office. She was wrong and I am returning the shoes tomorrow, and speak to the ladies there. I got home terrible upset I am 66 year old and do need to be lectured by a young sales person that does not realize how to treat the consumer who is looking to buy anything over $100. is a lot of money and I am going to really check on the merchandise before I buy anywhere. I left the location at 9pm, feeling terrible, i work full time the only time I have is to shop late or by internet, the store is not close to me. This young girl should be written up and counsel regarding her duties and how to treat people the consumer that is needed to keep the store from going out of business. The customer is the most important person and she should have known better.

Refused to serve us. Shame on you. We asked for a pair of shoes, older woman looked up at us said NO and walked out of the room and into the stockroom. Left us standing in shock. Will never return.
