It's closed for now because the City of Monrovia is allowing nature to heal from the damage of the devastating fires and floods that have occurred in recent years. Reopening to the public too soon would only subject this beautiful canyon to more "outer" influence before it's fully ready for human interference. Remember to pick up your trash, keep your doggos on-leash and stay on the trails. Give nature her much deserved time and we'll get to enjoying her gracious offerings soon enough. 🙏🌱

Its finally open after the bob cat fire. Monrovia Canyon Park requires reservations on weekends and not needed on weekdays. Keep in mind the Park is close on Tuesday and a $5 dollars fee is required to visit the park. Follow the park rules. Pack in and pack out the trash. Dogs must be on a leash all the times. Due the wildfires, the park lost a lot trees and the recent rainstorm washed off part of the trail. Still the trail is well marked and maintained. The hike is moderate and 50/50 shade and sun.

What a wonderful hideaway for escaping the rigors of the noisy city below. This is a great little park where one can find solitude, picnic areas, hiking trails, beautiful vistas, wildlife, flowers, and trickling brooks. The park is well-staffed. they have a nature center and a ranger station. there's plenty of handicap facilities, but the trails and the roads are somewhat steep.

Love this place. Been hiking here since I was a kid. Lot has changed since Bobcat fire. Amazingly all the structures were saved! Firefighters 🚒 are AWESOME! The cabin nature center bathrooms all here! Samson’s here also🐻 All saved! Many trees didn’t🙁

Awesome little spot, moderate hikes. The map that leads to the falls looked way far but it only took 30 min or less and it delivers. Wildlife here is wild saw a pair of black bears on a tree no more than 10 feet from me. Also finally the deer xing were of some use we saw deers and bucks inside a property almost like if it was a pet without a care in the world. Totally reccomend climbing down the dam it was exhilarating watch your step though steep cliff.

Great hiking area. A lot of people, nice place to get away from the city. There is a small parking fee let's think about it for a minute these fees will take care of the place maintenance including parking.

This is a simple and enjoyable hike within Monrovia City Limits. The price to park is $6 cash on weekends and $5 cash on weekdays. We live a few miles away so sometimes we walk from our home but other times we like to support the city and simply park and pay. We’ve ran the trail from the lot to the falls in 12 minutes, jogged in 15 and walked at a slower pace at 20 minutes. The trees and environment are very similar to Oak Creek in AZ and the trail is not too crowded if you get there around 7 am or around 4 in the afternoon.

I’ve been using the AllTrails app for a new hike and it led me to this one. Although the waterfall was not what i expected (small stream) I enjoyed the hike. There was a lot of insects flying around it did get a little annoying but never the less made the trip horrible just every once in a while i would scare them of with my cap. I did end up hiking the truck trail which theres a circuit and lucky for me thats when all those flys went away and you literally find yourself in the mountain the trail goes along a river. Along the road i came across signs telling a description about the land, which i found pretty interesting. I did went up there with my dog so I was in a few occasions worried about any bears or mountain lions since we were the only ones on the trail, but didn’t encounter any(sighs). Both trails, the water fall & truck trail was a total of 7 miles, good hike, i was glad their was hardly any graffiti and plenty off parking space, $5 on a weekday. Will be back soon, the dam looked cool, even though I’m afraid of heights. Hiking really has helped me with my anxiety and fears, wear your fav shoes/boots and start exploring!

Love this edge of the neighborhood, natural hideaway. Perfect in all weather with mostly canopy forest. Always see plenty of wildlife and can choose from various trails...or all of them.

Great walk, better to start from lower parking lot as it's about 1 mile from there. If you park at the top, its only 3/4. Good hike though, trees help keep you cool.

Great place for family and friends. Short hike to waterfall if you have little ones. There is a 1 or 1.3/4 mile trail to waterfall. Lots of shade. Bring water and snacks. Remember to have fun and be safe.

We got there at 8am and they still had parking at the top parking lot. The trail was busy and we'll maintained. The last .75 miles is almost completely shaved.
