I love this trail I jogged up so I don't know if it is good for mountain biking, although it's very difficult to not slip when going back down the trail

My favorite trail to bike in St. George. It is definitely best ridden from top to bottom, you'll have a miserable time climbing (you'll have to walk some sections this way) icehouse on a bike. Riding down you better prepare yourself for a fast and flowy seven mile downhill to Green Springs. The last half mile is very technical rocky downhill, but everything can be rolled over. This is not a very popular trail, so please show it some love and try to keep it in good condition. There are usually no more then 10 people who are willing to ride all the way up to the top per day. Some days, nobody rides here. It's worth the effort if you are willing to put in the 2,000 foot climb up old dump road.

Quiet, with an occasional person walking or riding their bike. Beautiful view and fairly easy. Just remember to bring your water.

Great trail on foot or bike. It's getting tougher to reach the trailhead with all the new construction in the area, but it's still worth the effort.

Great way to massage the arms if on a downhill mtb.

Took the Ice House Trail up a steep slope which proved to be a workout. At the top i met another hiker who showed me a loop via the Mustang Trail through scenic valley and Navajo sandstone all which was delightful...thanks Bill for the guide through. 🙂

The trail is at the end of the Green Springs Terraces in Washington. It's on BLM land and the developers of the area have placed a parking area near the trail access point so it's got convenient access. The same access trail leads to the Mustang Pass trail and splits for the two trails. The Ice House trail runs up the side of a mesa (Broken Mesa)with about 600ft of elevation gain. Pretty good workout for hikers but I can't see a biker riding up the side of the mesa. Nice views from the top

A good place to bike, hike, or trail run to avoid the crowds but the trail is pretty littered with baseball-sized lava rocks. Can either start by parking on Rosso Dr (north Green Springs area), getting on the bike trail and then and using the step-over gate that enters the Red Cliffs desert reserve. From here you'd need to walk your bike up onto Icehouse Mesa using the carved out trail which is pretty gnarly. Once on top of the mesa, the trail is rideable but definitely a climb. The other option is to park at Mesa Rim Trailhead and then hike/run/bike down Ice House Mesa. From point to point its about 7 miles. Great views coming back down!!

We found the trailhead. It's between house 2255 and 886. We climbed to top of Mesa and it's a pretty view

This trail is very technical and honestly pretty trash. There are so many rocks and it is so bumpy, I’m still shaking a day later. There are so many other good trails in southern Utah so just do those ones instead

Rattlesnakes everywhere! We saw 5 along the main walking trails and one very aggressive coyote was stalking us and barking. Looks like everything burned a couple years ago so nothing is green.
