El Mexicano

Traditional Mexican food at its best. This was my first visit here. Took another reviewers advice and ordered a chile relleno in spicy sauce on the side and that was great advice, it was outstanding! Please support this long time local restaurant. I will return again and again.

We had lunch with my son, daughter in law, granddaughter and great granddaughter. Everything was fantastic!

Homemade chips and salsa daily. Fabulous enchiladas and chile rellenos. I've been going there for 29 years excellent service. I had their special today it was yummy.

This was the best authentic Mexican food we have had in all of Mendocino County. The Mexican decorations are inviting and make you feel like you’re in Mexico.. I shared with the waitress. This is my husband’s first time here. She brought him a incredible Mexican dessert with a candle on it,. We are making this hard go to Mexican restaurant. Well worth the hour drive here in Willits.

Good food, good choices, friendly staff, really good experience! I had chicken Fajitas, ate it all!

The dinner, atmosphere and service where all wonderful.

We stopped in for lunch the other day after an appointment. I enjoyed the alPastor so much that when I was back in Willits today, i stopped in just to get a pint of it to bring home for tacos or nachos for dinner.
She not only sold me a great amount at a reasonable price she also included some chips, salsa, cilantro and onions (when all on really asked for was the alPastor and cilantro).

Best Mexican food and service I’ve ever enjoyed!

Good food. Large portions for the price. Staff was super nice and friendly. I got the nachos, should have gotten a half order. It comes with both shredded chicken and ground beef. Super good!!

I was so INCREDIBLY delighted to find out that one of childhood favorites is still alive and well in Willits! I was blown away, as always, with their food. My go-to has always been their chicken, cheese & sour cream burrito. It is absolutely heavenly.

My favorite place in town to eat. Great food, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. You would have to be loco not to enjoy it.

We cleaned our plates here, hands down some of the best mexican food we have had. They dont seem to serve liquor here, but their wine margarita still tastes just like a margarita. They also have a good assortment of beers. Just beware they have large portions, I ordered one tomatillo chicken enchilada and with the toppings it took up most of my plate. My partner got a burrito and it was big enough he couldn't eat it with his hands. We read other reviews about this being a local favorite and I can see why.

El Mexicano has amazing food and an incredible staff. I have been eating at this establishment for more years than I'd like to say and have never had a bad meal or a mistake with my order. I highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Stopped off the 101 during our trip. Absolutely lovely place, warm staff, amazing authentic Mexican food. Everything was superb! Highly recommend. Loved the fajitas and guacamole.

Very affordable, Excellent food, I've been going to this establishment since my daughter was 3 years old and she is now 24, so with this I can tell you that you will not be disappointed. If you have a concern ask to speak to the owner or manager. They will correct the issue for you at once. Their Chili Rellenos with Chili Verdi Sauce is an excellent dish!

Absolutely amazing! Im from chicago and I love my Hispanic food. I ordered tacos, enchilada, and chili relano plate. I only wish I had more. Salsa/chile is very good as well!

Every town has that best-kept secret dining location that the locals frequent religiously. El Mexicano is that place in Willits. People visit it once for affordable delicious food in a friendly environment. People return over and over again once they experience the quality and great customer service. I have given up ordering certain entrees from other Mexican restaurants because I am always disappointed by how INFERIOR food is at other restaurants, after eating at "El Mex...."

The food was delicious and extremely authentic. The staff was beyond welcoming and really made our dinner experience quite delightful. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone!

We have loved this place for years! I can't remember how long we have been going here, but since before it moved, and they have always had the best food and a polite staff. Every time we go through Willits, we consider going here to eat.
