I am not sure where these reviews are saying these people are rude, I have had nothing but great experiences, especially with the new owner, John.

I have taken my vehicles to be worked on in other garages in Merced over the 25+ years I have been driving, this is the only place I haven't felt like I was being screwed out of money for work I didn't need.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair deals. Plus the staff is very friendly to UC students and gave me a great deal on tuning up my engine and replacing my plugs in about 2 hours. I honestly dont think youll find a more honest mechanic in merced.

Our daughter goes to UC Merced and is driving one of our cars in that local area. We live in the Los Angeles area. I called Ron and told him we work with a reliable mechanic in the Los Angeles area and were not comfortable with taking our car "just any where". He understood and promised us a "fair and honest" experience. He had the car completely fixed (cracked radiator) in about 5 hours! He called me in Los Angeles with updates as he was working and took care of our daughter!! We would definitely use Bob's Auto Works again! I would also recommend him to any parents of UC Merced students who have their children driving their cars away from home. Thanks Ron!
