Jantz Cafe & Bakery

I went here with my friend to get lunch together. The food was good and I got a Turkey Avocado Wrap and one of their homemade soup. The workers there are friendly and kind. They would come to your table a couple times just to check-in with you to see how everything is. If you need anything, they would definitely be the people to ask. This place DOES give out actual café vibes😊 I would definitely come here again :)

What a beautiful little restaurant! It was so cutely decorated with country style decor. My mom got the country platter with a cream cheese cinnamon roll. I got the breakfast tacos. Everything was delicious! I will definitely be coming back. This place is officially my #1 for breakfast in town.

I absolutely love this place. I like to get the biscuits and gravey but my favorite thing Is to get and take home with Me is A bag of the blackberry and cream coffee. This is the best coffee that I have ever had and believe me I love coffee. I love the atmosphere while coming in to Jantz. Just The smell alone is amazing. They have all kinds of different pies and snacks and treats so you Have many choices to choose from and you will never get bored. The employees are always very nice and welcoming. I love how modest they are and how it really sets the atmosphere for family. Everything is made fresh with high quality ingredients and it shows. They also have a lot of gluten free items which is important for people with certain health issues. Have plenty of seating on the outside patio for those beautiful days. There's a lot of parking and this is easy to find. I would highly recommend this place to anyone on the looking for a great quality breakfast your lunch. I believe they also start early about 6:30 or Seven and they also do catering. Go to Jantz check it out.

Stopped off the freeway for lunch after hours on the road. It was easy to find and easy to get back on the road when we were done. Everything from the decor and cleanliness, to the sweet welcome from the Hostess, to the beautiful pastries in the case, to the delicious food and prompt, friendly service was perfect. I especially appreciated all the gluten free options and I really liked my tuna melt on GF bread. I will remember this place and will go out of my way to visit again when I'm in the area!

Always wonderful, quick staff. Really yummy food. I like the cinnamon bread French toast.

Best lunch in the county. You must have their soup. Corn bread is super with the soup.
Sandwiches, salads, top notch. If you’re visiting from out of town, don’t miss this place for breakfast,or lunch or both!
AND, their pies are incredible. Before you leave stop by the bake counter indulge yourself in one or more of the items available.
Finally, the wait people are just the most helpful and attentive you will find anywhere.

The local folks are really lucky to have a dining spot like this available when they feel like treating themselves to are wonderful culinary experience.

The legendary Jantz! I’ve heard so many good things about this place. Well, their business as a whole. I was not disappointed. We walked in, had to patiently wait to be seated. A lady in charge came up and told our hostess that we could dine on the patio. It was cold. I mentioned so, and they were kind enough to turn on the outside warmers. Very nice. The ladies here are beyond polite, professional, and they know what they’re doin! I let her, the lady in charge, decide my plates. She was great at picking and choosing as I can be very indecisive. I went with the French toast combo. That and a slice of heath bar cheesecake for the road. I think between myself, my wife and the cake, it was about $40. We will be back!

Looking for a delicious breakfast in Merced? Look no further. Located in a medical plaza Jantz totally fits in. It's beautiful from the outside and on the inside. The decor is modern and homey at the same time. The staff is super friendly and are very welcoming and accommodating. Now the food! OMG! There's so much to choose from, it's all made from scratch. I was with a picky eater. He ordered the pancake combo, two pancakes, bacon, sausage and country potatoes, he ate everything. I ordered the country breakfast and was a little disappointed in the biscuit, though.
My son got a breakfast burrito with chorizo and loved it. We were all stuffed by the end of our meal. They have tons of pastries, pies, breads and cakes. I bought Easter sugar cookies and they're not only beautiful, they're delicious. You won't be disappointed eating at Jantz.

Caden was a great server. The food came out quick, was super good, and large portions! The Milky Way coffee was great too. 10/10

Jantz is a well know restaurant/bakery here in Merced. They offer a range of baked goods and a good selection of gluten free options that I trust to be gluten free. I have purchased items for individuals with celiac disease.

For this visit, I stopped in for a full size French silk pie, which is also offered in a mini size (gluten free). The pie was deliciously decadent and smooth. The crust was even in thickness and had the classic crispness of a good pie crust. The pie had a hefty amount of filling and is not overly rich. The family loved it.

Addictive pie & coffee. Both berry. Together they were amazing.

I have always liked the food and staff at Jantz. The only reason for not frequenting it more often is price. It’s a little on the pricey side for lunch so I only go occasionally. It’s not crazy expensive just more than I can spend frequently. LOL But it’s always a treat!

It was a very pleasant dine in. The food was great, fulfilling yet not leaving me over stuffed and my pumpkin chai latte was even better. I love the way the drink had foam and a tea bag, not just that syrup stuff. The employees were nice and prompt. However they were out of a lot of ingredients but I was still happy with my experience.

We love all their baked goods, especially the fresh fruit pies (when in season), kolachys, and sweet potato muffins. Everything has a homemade quality. The chicken salad sandwich was fantastic. The macaroni salad was not very flavorful, but everything else was great.

This place was lovely!! Loved the food! It was a peaceful environment Forsure ! We don’t really eat breakfast at places but this was the best! And they have pies! 😮‍💨⛽💯💯

The people are always the nicest. I go here when I want to spend money on eating out because they have the best coffee in Merced, the best pastries I've ever had, and almost sinfully delicious meals. But more than anything, it's the people.
Sometimes you just need healthy food, good caffeine and some human kindness. This is where you find that in Merced.

I liked that, when we walked in we were greeted, with a smile. The food was excellent, the eggs were nice and fluffy! Latte was great, not too sweet, just perfect. Can’t wait to come back.

Staff is always nice and helpful. Yummy gluten-free items, but only in the Merced store. The GF mini pies are so good. Would love a cheesecake! Atwater only carries a gluten free monster cookie, but also delicious.

Jantz Cafe & Bakery is amazing! The staff is very friendly and welcoming! Plus the food is awesome, the Monster Cookies are my favorite. Everything I have had from here has been good.

Everything was delish. The Cali-chicken sandwich is my go-to, with the baked potato salad as a side. I can never finish it so I always have yummy leftovers. The Key Lime Pie today was as smooth as silk, it was so good.
