I'm very frustrated with trying to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hinesley's office(s). Don't get me wrong, I believe Dr. Hinesley is a wonderful person and has been a great doctor to me. Here is why I'm frustrated; On Tuesday September 8, 2015 at 7:00am something in my knee snapped which caused a lot of pain in my leg and I was unable to put any pressure on it. I was taken to Urgent Care where they took X-Rays, gave me crutches, a brace, inflammation medication, codeine and sent me for a blood test and told me to follow up with my doctor. I called Dr. Hinesley's office at 9:30am and left a message on the answering machine. No call back. I called back at noon and someone answered the phone and took a message as her staff was gone to lunch. I called again at 3:30 and spoke to someone on her staff. I explained to her that this was now my 3rd call of the day and I was trying to see if I could get into see Dr. Hinesley. I was informed that I could not see my doctor the same day that I visited Urgent Care and that Dr. Hinesley would not be in the office Thursday or Friday. She suggested that I call Dr. Hinelsley's office on Olive Avenue to see if I could get an appointment at that office sooner. I called the other office and the first available appointment wasn't until September 24th.
On Friday, September 11th, Marcia called from Dr. Hinesley's office to let me know that they had submitted a request for an MRI through the insurance and that it would take a couple days until we heard back from them. On Tuesay, September 15th, Marcia called to let me know that the insurance denied the MRI as they wanted me to try 4 weeks of physical therapy first. I then asked again if I could make an appointment to see Dr. Hinesley as I have a clotting disorder and wanted to make sure that what ever damage was done that blood clots couldn't develop from the injury. She said that I wouldn't be able to get into the 25th Street office that week but for me to call the office on Olive on Wednesday and see if they had any availability and if they didn't Dr. Hinesley would squeeze me in. I called on Wednesday to the other office and the gal who answered the phone said that she was booked solid for the day but she would give me a call to let me know if someone cancelled or she thought they could squeeze me in. I've yet to hear from the office on Olive. Today, September 18th, I was speaking with a co-worker who said she had been sick and she called her Dr.'s office on Thursday, who told her to come on down and they would squeeze her in. She went in and waited 45 minutes. She saw Dr. Hinesley who told her she had allergies and she gave her an antibiotic. I immediately called Dr. Hinesley's office and asked for Marcia. Yolanda, told me that Marcia would not be back In the office until Monday. I told her that I had been trying since September 8th to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hinesley. She informed me that Marcia does not schedule appointments. I then asked her if she could schedule an appointment for me. She told me that Dr. Hinesley was booked up. I told her that I had been talking to my co-worker and I shared her name who was able to come in the next day and she only had to wait 45 minutes. She then got very flippant with me and said "Vivian" was a walk-in. I then informed her I was done and would now be searching for a new doctor. VERY FRUSTRATED. I never have any medical issues and usually only see the doctor once a year for a physical. To finally have an issue and be treated this way is unexcusable. Very disappointed.
