Danberry rehab is one of the better facilities in Merced.
It is a very clean facility, spacious and the employees are kind and caring.
The administrator does not sit behind his desk he is around and about. And he's very accessible.

I had the great luck to spend a couple weeks at this facility!! From the PT staff to housekeeping all the nurses and Drs everyone was so very patient kind helpful and so very professional!! Special shout out to Debbie Maria Lisa and Teshia(sp) in PT and Jackie and La Joy and all the floor staff!! I can't remember all their names. Anberry made a bad experience much more enjoyable. Thank you so much and God Bless sincerely Rebecca Graves

My family member was recently a pt at this facility for a couple weeks following a stroke. My family member was not an easy pt to handle, based on cognitive impairments from her stroke, however the staff here were very competent and patient in dealing with her. The facility is clean and the private rooms are great! The therapists at this facility are outstanding! Especially Chelsea! Her compassion , her humor, and her medical knowledge make her a HUGE asset to this company!
Would definitely recommend this facility if you or a loved one need inpatient rehabilitation!

The only reason I am rating this 5 stars is so that others will see this.
My grandmother has been to this facility more than 3 times in the last 3 years. During which time, her first stay was nice. My grandmother bought a walker with her insurance, it was a nice rollator walker. She signed paperwork stating that she had paid for it. They took it from her when she left and refused to reimburse her.
The administrator refused to speak with us several times after this.
During another one of her stays, she now had to start using a wheelchair, which again, her insurance paid for brand new. She was rehabilitating from a surgery and they took the legs to her wheelchair and switched them out with another old wheelchair's legs and now they don't work right. When confronted again, they denied having done it and refused to reimburse her for them.
This is an issue because her insurance will only cover this assistive equipment once every few years, and rightfully so, they should last her a while, had she had all the equipment that they had paid for.

On her last visit last week, she decided to check herself out AMA. But given the mental state she was in, thinking that she was going to work, which she had not worked in over 10 years, they decided to let her leave! She was clearly not of clear state of mind and neglected her as a patient.

Needless to say, we will not be coming back here. Ever. We will be going to Turlock from now on. I thought this place would be better than the one in Atwater, Merced Nursing, Hylond, La Sierra, and Franciscan, given that I worked at Anberry in Atwater, La Sierra, and Merced Nursing, but it's not. Don't kid yourself guys, choose a place outside of Merced and Atwater. They may look like a nice facility, but their staff is irresponsible, they will steal your stuff, and they will neglect your friends or family members.

I had a total knee replacement at Mercy Hospital in Merced, CA. I was then transferred to Anberry Transitonal Care in Merced, CA for rehabilitation.
Anberry is 100% top notch.
They welcomed me with warmth & compassion.
The therapists started working with me the following day.
Every therapist that worked with me was incredible.
Each and every one of them were so caring. Pushing me, but not too hard. Working with me, but not too much.
Gave me truthful answers to any of my concerns.
They really cared about me.
Afterall, their goal is to get you strong so you can return home. And that's what they did.
I was discharged today September 11, 2018.
The facility is beautiful and clean.
The nursing staff, CNA's, House keeping, Dietary, Social Services were all professional and caring people.
I was discharged today September 11, 2018.
I highly recommend Anberry Transitional Center for anyone that might be in need for themselves or a loved one.
You will not regret your decision.
With warm regards,
Athena Belt

This place is amazing. The atmosphere is better than any other hospital or nursing facility alone. The staff is always cheerful and excited to get their patients back home. They have commited nurses and therapy staff that you see frequently and they make you feel as if they are your own family! Would not recommend any other facility beside Anberry in Merced
