Cova's Great American Food

Excellent food, friendly staff, great service and very reasonable prices. Definitely will visit again. We tried the combo appetizer platter, Cova's combo pizza, Margherita pizza, Alfredo with shrimp and the Tilapia plate. All four of us only had good things to say about our food. Also the coffee was decent.

Something has been missing in Merced for a VERY long time... GOOD. FOOD. All the restaurants in town have become complacent and are no longer serving up competition, they'd rather serve the stuff that used to taste good that now tastes bland and is old news, just no more TLC in their food. Cova's has done something special, they've taken classic menu items, and made them exactly the way it's supposed to be, with that nice touch of TLC!

I had the NY Steak with grilled shrimp, ordered medium, loaded baked potato, family had sirloin steak and shrimp, salmon, and the chicken fried steak. For appetizers we got the BBQ chicken wings, cheese sticks, and fries. Only one of the steaks was a little dry, but my NY steak was juicy and flavorful, like it just came out of a butter bath. The grilled shrimp, more like gigantic prawns, pairing made it a great surf and turf. Merced FINALLY has a great place in town to fulfill that steak craving, and now I want to go back and try their pizza! Keep this up and it'll always be 5 stars from me!

Great place, awesome menu, delicious food. The waiter was very helpful and kind. It took them a while to get us seated though. I definitely want to go back still.

Now this is a place to bring the whole family! Breakfast, lunch and Dinner Menu! The food is prepared to order and made from scratch! This menu is a 3 meal a day menu! Separate Bar dining and family and friends dining! Located in the parking lot with Merced Inn and Suites! What ever your taste buds are asking for, I’m sure they got you covered!

My experience at this place was amazing, the food, the dish and the service are great you need to try the the food, for my opinion is better than olive garden, it's American and Italian restaurant and little taste of Mexican food.❤🍰 try trio shrimps 🦐 lovers amazing

Our Group has done a event here quite often and weither it be upstairs or downstairs the place is beautiful!!! Lots of seating.. There is a bar downstairs with lots of seating and the best Mango Margaritas!! I've had upscale food here and pizza and both are delish!! Classy place!! 2 restrooms with changing table and high chairs.. Kids cups and clean restroom.. Friendly staff! Great job Cova's!

I gave 5 stars for the excellent service. Waitress was so friendly and always smiling. All servers were courteous and all smiles. I ordered the NY steak. Was cooked as I ordered just wasn't very flavorful. Someone in our party had the Sirloin and said it was really good so maybe next time if I go back.

This Restaurant is so delicious, they have a great variety of food and appetizers as well. I usually always order the Salmon or Steak always very good.The clam chowder is amazing also. It's very clean and the staff are very friendly and always on it to see if you need anything. Very convenient and off the freeway if you're driving through town and looking for a nice place to eat. I promise you won't have any regrets

This was our first visit and we will definitely go back!!! Girlfriend had the shrimp trio and I had the tarragon salmon. Both were yummy. The raspberry vingarrete for our salads was fabulous. They also make their own sourdough bread. Brian our waiter was friendly and personable and had great knowledge of the menu. Even gave us more bread to take home. Dont let the unfriendliness look from the motel next door keep you from stopping to eat.

We had pizza and it was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. Staff very friendly. Our only problem was that we had trouble finding it because they don’t have a sign over the restaurant. There is a small sign board and a mat with the name but we didn’t see them from the road. I guess they are a new establishment but we would definitely recommend them.

Definitely a great eat, the food presentation was very professional, the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. The restaurant is fairly new so they are still getting the word out. Give the place a try, with the quality of food that they serve they deserve to be well known.

Food was good. However it is expensive. Upscale restaurant prices for dinner. We haven't tried breakfast or lunch yet, but we will. We will go back for dinner too. The service was great, employees very friendly. We recommend you try it.

COVID-19 has been hard on the Central Valley. But it's people have been truly resilient. We spent a couple of days in Visalia to visit Sequoia National Park and are now in Merced for 3 nights to spend time at Yosemite. There is nothing better than a great dinner after a long day of travel and we have found our spot in Merced. That spot is Covas Great American Food. We've had 2 excellent dinners so far and plan to return again tomorrow night. My wife has fallen in love with their Zoodles dish (twice) and will have it a third time tomorrow night (it's that good). She gets a grilled chicken breast on the side to add some protein to her meal. I've had 2 excellent seafood meals and am looking forward to my third choice. We also really enjoy the bread served with the meal. Sedra was our server the first night and tonight it was Hilda. BOTH were OUTSTANDING. Great menu, great cook, and a great staff equals a great dining experience.

Addendum: Had dinner a third time last night. Of course, my wife again had the Zoodles and this time I tried the Country Fried Steak. Both were EXCELLENT and our server Adrian was outstanding as well.

My father and I ate here the first time today. He valued the RAVIOLI with a substituted delicate meat sauce and side salad with Italian dressing. The vinegar strong, just right. He told service that Restaurants usually don't serve him enough RAVIOLI on his plate but how satisfied he became served 11 of them! I had a tasty Margherita pizza with tomato, basil, mozzarella cheese with pepperoni in a light red sauce. Enjoyed!

Everything from Fish and Chips to New York Steak is perfectly cooked. Highly recommend. Service is super, too.
Also great venue for Birthdays and Anniversaries.

Heard about this place by my sister in law. Met Adrian, and his owner mom.
Had there pizza, and was one of the best. Nothing beats Round Table.
5 stars all around.
Willing to drive 5 hours, just for Covas.

Andy was our server and did an excellent job of balancing attentiveness without hovering. Our food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Andy even surprised us with a beautiful piece of tiramasu for our 20th anniversary that we were celebrating. It was our very first time trying Covas out and we will definitely be back. Thanks for a beautiful evening.

I usually don't order sirloin but I did and it was the best sirloin I have ever had ordered out. Our waitress, Stephanie, was as sweet as she could be. We are from Kansas but if you are local check this place out.
