La Calenda

I have been here multiple occasions, food is always exquisite. Tacos Al Pastor are a Must. Today our server offered their new Addition to their appetizer list: chicharrones. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Two chicharrones ordered and devoured within minutes.

Had a really great time here! Carlos and Enrique served us and they were great!
We ordered the guacamole and chicken chilaquiles that were delicious!

This place is a winner! We (party of 8) were all impressed with the quality of ingredients and sensational flavor. Most surprising was the beet salad and the bits of pineapple in the quesadilla al pastor. The live music was the cherry on top! Very talented ensemble that elevated the whole experience.

The food was INCREDIBLE!!!! But 1 thing was off. Thomas Keller needs to take the rice off the menu. It had no flavor. Everything else was delicious. No, I'm worried if he sees this. I won't be let into the French Laundry 🤣

This restaurant surprised me in a way I didn’t expect to be. The fish tacos were excellent, but it’s the little things they do exceptionally well that make them stand out (elote, rice and beans…)

Highly recommend to anyone visiting this part of the Valley.

Had to take ol Rink Fatliner there on the other side of the hill, a Hobbled Slumperhickle to keep those long horned cows out of his hooch garden, and decided to try the La Calenda Restaurant. I've heard nothing but great things about the food, so let's give her a shot. It was 5 stars all the way, and worthy of a drive to Yountville. ☆☆☆☆☆

Spontaneously stopped here to grab a bite and it did not disappoint! Super great atmosphere, nicely decorated, attentive and kind staff and refreshing and delicious food! I had the Tomato Salad and really enjoyed how flavorful they made a “basic” dish! I’m excited to go back and try more items.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for two at La Calenda in mid-December. The margarita was superb, the guacamole & chips were incredible, the main courses so flavorful and the flan was delicious! Special thanks to our wonderful server Leydi, who was so attentive and kind! She deserves a raise! We truly enjoyed the whole meal and look forward to coming back. I would echo other reviewers in that the music is way to loud and made it very difficult to have a conversation. Fixing that one detail would make it a perfect experience!

The food was exceptional. Everything was fresh. The tomatilla sauce was wonderful. The chips were crispy and the tortilla were to die for. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I had the chicken mole enchiladas. Taste was insane. Others in our group where not as impressed, but thats for them to comment on. Drinks were great too. My only complaint is the prices. I understand that we are in the area of Napa, but come on. It was so spendy. Luckily I am from out of town and can afford to go once a year.

This Mexican food is incredible! It is made out of the freshest, finest ingredients..the flavors melt in your mouth. La Calenda is truly a dining experience...

Had a wonderful dinner here a few nights back. We were at one of their outdoor tables in their patio area.
Started with the Aguachile -- loved the mildly acidic and spicy liquid. The subtle scent of sesame lifted this dish to another level.
We also had a fantastic Caesar salad -- cause we needed some vegetables! Very very well made salad. every leaf of romaine was well coated and the tasty.

Next we had 4 tacos! I didn't want the tacos to all come at once and get cold and our server (I think his name was Donald?) very graciously offered to enter the orders in as we progressed.
Taco 1: The softshell crab special, served on a flour tortilla. What's not to like, softshell crab was fried -- light and crispy and lifted by sliced radish.
Taco 2: The fish tacos - gorgeously flaky fried fish paired with bright radishes and cool lettuce. I liked the sauce but thought they were a little too liberal with the application.
Taco 3: The carnitas. This was my least favorite of the 4. The meat was moist, tender and rich, and the condiments were great. It was just a little too rich -- perhaps after the spicy creamy sauces from tacos 1+2 this was a little too much.
Taco 4: Al pastor. Loved this. What's not to love with Al Pastor -- tasty marinated meat, acidic yet sweet pineapple. I would have liked the pineapple to be a bit more charred and perhaps cut smaller so I can have a little with each bite, but loved this.

Halfway though taco 4 -- our first server clocked out and handed over to another colleague Leydi who also took really good care of us.

We finished light with the grilled hoja santa-marinated fish of the day. a Whole fish split and grilled to perfection, topped with a mountain of greens. The fish was light, flaky and sweet, and the garden greens really refreshes with each bite.

Fun dinner!

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The service was above and beyond! John made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant, which is a pretty impressive thing to say considering Chef Keller was dining next to us! John was so fantastic we had to get a photo with him! The food was top notch: the fish tacos were complex, spicy, and full of flavour, and the steak was divine! Highly recommended!

Great location and delicious Mexican food. Prices actually not bad for Yountville. Wait-staff was very attentive and we were lucky to get a table without reservations.

This place was great. The servers were very attentive and the food was delicious. I liked the indoor fall decorations and atmosphere. It felt cozy.

If you are in Napa Valley looking for authentic Mexican food from Oxacaha, pop into La Calenda. I promise you that I was about to lick the plate. Yes baby! The Mole was that good.

They make their own chips and Sangria which adds to the overall authenticity of the food and drinks. They have an open kitchen concept so you can see Chef Kalin do his magic. Reservations are recommended and patio dining is also available.

Come toward the end of the lunch hour to avoid the lunchtime rush. A huge fireplace with DIA De Los Muertos statues decorates the restaurant and there is a beautiful wine cellar- of course.

I will put this on my "Must Visit List" while in Napa Valley Wine Country.

Food was great! I ordered the enchilada mole. It is not your standard mole, and I was warned this from our fantastic waiter. He offered to bring me a taste, but this just made me want it more! :) The sauce tasted strongly of coco and spices, and gave a slow burn in the back of my mouth. Chips and guac were also excellent. Absolutely fantastic food, but I will order something new next time to explore their delicious menu.

This is the most Authentic Mexican food you will ever have Master Oaxacan Chef Kaelin and His Team are changing the Game...

From the moment you walk in the host (Alexis) will greet you with such a beautiful smile and make you feel welcome and apart of the family.

In the Chefs words this is Mexicos food and these flavors were here long before I was... we respect the Ingredients for the beauty that they are...

There is nothing like eating a taco that was just made from fresh Masa... the Pollo Pibil is Insane the Alpastor is the best I have ever had in my life... and the Tres Leches is a work of art...

There is only one criticism of this restaurant you will never be able to match these flavors again at any Mexican restaurant none will suffice because it's so damn good....

Awesome new Oaxacan restaurant that chef Keller opened up next to Bouchon. If you can stand the long wait (2 hours if you don't show up early) then it is well worth it. We ordered the chips and salsa with guac to start which was fresh and amazing. We ordered two sets of tacos, one pork and the other fish which were excellent but not worth 12$ for 2 tacks excellent especially since you can go to a taco truck and get 8 for the same price. Next we ordered the chicken mole which was spectacular, chicken was decent but the mole and tortillas we're excellent. Overall food is a 9/10, service is average, value probably a 7/10.

Really nice restaurant. The service was great, food was traditional, the atmosphere was excellent, and the drinks were refreshing. Was a hit for Father’s Day. I recommend the queso fundido and the corn for starters.
