The service is polite and fast. The food is delicious. Fresh. And cooked really quickly.

I had their main burger which was unique. It had nice coleslaw and fennel flavours with a perfectly cooked patty. And manageable oil levels. Fresh. Not greasy.

I had the broccolini side. And it was fantastic. Cooked just right. With nice garlic and cheese flavours.

The espresso coffee was fantastic and exactly what I ordered (I was very specific)

The restaurant is large with many seating options as a massive sunny outdoor area. and the interior is modern and warm with lots of comfy bay and bar seating.

Food are delicious, fresh and nutritious. Their service are the best! This is the only restaurant I will go if I’m around In Napa. Highly recommended!!!

Arrived 30 min earlier than reservation time, glad they’re able to seat us. Service was excellent, our server was attentive and just a really nice person. She made our dining experience a memorable one. We’ve visited this restaurant and their sister restaurant Los Altos Grill many times before and food never fail to impress. A Napa Valley gem.

R & D Kitchen is a regular stop of ours on trips to Yountville & Napa. I had the fortunate experience to dine there while it was the California Bar & Grill(also delicious). The staff at RD are always pleasant and professional! The atmosphere & decor are relaxing and not pretentious. The noise level is good. You can engage in conversation w/o straining. The kitchen noise from the dining area was non-existent. The booths are large and comfortable. The hand crafted cocktails never disappoint.
The Deviled Egg appetizer is a must if you're a fan! The French Fries that come w/ special seasoning & dip are the perfect amount of crispness.
The sushi dishes are delicious(heard first hand, I don't eat sushi)
All our dishes have never disappointed. The burgers cooked perfectly with great flavor. Chicken sandwiches are delicious. The salads are large and filling. The Newporter won't disappoint. Served with warm & moist chicken, mixed greens & large cashews. The Thai noodle salad was tasty with large pieces of avocado. It might be a tad spicy for some (just a little heat for me). You will fill up but save room for dessert and coffee! If you're a fan (or not) I recommend the carrot cake. Large slice of moist, delicious cake with raisins & full walnuts paired with a fresh stealing hot cup of coffee with steamed milk or espresso is the best way to finish off your dining experience (or an after dinner drink from the gorgeous bar while checking out their wine cooler! Cognac, brandy, or sip of Grand Marnier! ) Grab some koi food to feed the large koi outside. There is an outdoor sitting area as well with covered umbrella and heaters if needed. Reservations are definitely recommended, especially on weekends or large parties.

A quick bite on a rainy day and luckily made reservations as the place was full and buzzing. The special open face tuna sandwich, lamb sandwich, kale salad and fries were perfect for sharing. The service was pleasant and efficient. I think they are affiliated with Hillstone restaurants as the similarities are strong.

Someone recommended this place and my wife and I were so glad they did. Our taste buds were extremely happy!

The Kale salad was light and completely refreshing. It had a great combination of sweet with a little heat. The sesame miso vinaigrette with cilantro mixed in was delicious! And the cabbage and green onions added just the right amount of crunch, along with the cashews.

The person that recommended the restaurant told us we had to get the Thai noodle salad. All I can say is "my oh my..." This was worth coming for. The items in this dish seem pretty eclectic (noodles, salad greens, carrots, chicken, chopped nuts, mango, avocado, tomato).
But it all works perfectly! And the Thai dressing with cilantro brings it all together.

If research and development produces this taste explosion, keep it up! When we return to Napa, we'll be repeating these two dishes- that good!

Came here on our way out of town. We got the fried chicken sandwich and the guacamole duo dip.

Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly! I had my dog with me too on the patio and it was just a wonderful ambiance.

Been a while. Ate at the bar, super nice service. Bit too quick, wish the dishes came one after the other rather than all at once, but the slbatman is super kind and attentive, and the door was closed yay!

Always looking for great places to be with my husband and eat delicious food, and this is one of them! Lovely setting, beautiful interior (artwork!) Great outdoor space, very nice service, and a solid menu. We want to bring friends here and the whole family.
But: NOTE TO ALL RESTAURANTS: if your customers are wearing jackets INSIDE, please close the door! Shivering detracts from enjoying meals ...
(7/9/23 update: points for the beautiful koi pond, and sitting at the outside bar. Atmosphere and setting very lovely still. Wish the menu would update, it's a bit tired and so seems the wait staff)

Wow! The Honor Burger was incredible! The Brussell Sprouts were a perfect starter! The Vibe and staff were amazing. I sat at the Bar and Matt took great care of everything. Thank you Sir. I came back and had El Cubano. Holy smokes it was great!

My wife and I needed a place to stop to look up menus for places to eat. R+D Kitchen wasn’t even on our radar as an option but after we looked up their menu we decided to try it and WOW!! What an amazing experience it was. The atmosphere was perfect! Then we met our waitress who was absolutely wonderful! She was fast friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience the best we’ve experienced! The food was truly exceptional! We both ordered Filet Mignon which was the best we’ve had (my wife and I travel a lot so trust me on this) compared to other fine restaurants. I highly suggest you try R+D Kitchen. I’m sure whatever you order will be excellent!

Great experience. We had a wonderful 12/31 lunch. We ordered a bunch of items. One dish that stood out was the crispy chicken sandwich that was so delicious ! Loved the spicy tuna roll and the rainbow roll and the honor burger were delicious as well. A highly recommended place !

Great place to stop after your bike ride. If you stay at Napa ride your bike to yountville and stop here they have outside sitting with a bar and limited menu, the I side sitting has a full menu.thwy also have a Koirala pond and if you ask the inside servers they give you a little cup with fish food. My son enjoyed feeding the fish

The burger at this place was AHMAZING, and I'd come back just to eat it again. Same with the two dip appetizer - the queso dip was out of this world. Staff and vibes were great.

Really great spot! Service was outstanding and not rushed, wine selection was good and waiters suggestion on a Pinot noir was an absolutely stunning wine. Chicken meatballs were delicate and creamy and salads full of flavor. Super nice ambiance and good experience.

Friendly staffs welcomes us without reservation. It was very great. We ordered grilled chicken and sushi roll with 2 glasses house wine(White & Red) Everything was fine. Thanks for your services ~

This place came highly recommended from the locals. My grandmother turned 87 and I took her to Napa to have the Napa experience. We did wine, the gondola ride, and of course lunch. The service was quick and friendly. Food was so good and tasted so fresh. My grandmother oohh'd and ahhh"d about her chicken. She took her left overs to go but ended up eating them before we got home. She said it was too good to wait. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Low lighting and ambiance abound. We sat inside. Patio is also great. You could go with more substantial meals or enjoying the small plate fare. We had a delicious peanut kale and hamachi sashimi salad, super tasty maguro tartare, and a tremendously unctuous polenta with chicken meatballs, and romesco sauce. Riesling and Cab were good. Love it there.

This was by far my favorite restaurant during Labor Day weekend in Napa! Not only did we luck out in getting a table inside as a walk in, we had the best service of any other place we went to. Everyone working took care of us! The service was impeccable! The food was outstanding! They went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience during our visit and you know this is simply how they are with everyone, but they make you feel very special. We ate so many different dishes to try a variety of menu items. Nothing disappointed us! Even the chef came out to see us before we left and we raved to her about everyone who helped us and the flavorful food. Heading back in December to do it all over again!

The Thai Steak Salad was so good! Not a crumb was left on our plates! The carrot cake definitely deserves an award! It’s the best I’ve ever had!
