First I want to say thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and open about all procedures needed. With a son who is special needs, he is very nervous and always asks a lot of questions. All staff members were willing to accommodate his needs. Every procedure we have had the staff has cared about how we feel and what we experience. I highly recommend coming to Caldwell Dental. Tina is my dental hygienist and she's very patient when I come in for treatment. Great personality! The practice is very clean and up to date with the most recent technology. Highly recommendable.

I have had two crowns done by Dr. Mina Um. She did a wonderful job and is very detail oriented and very skilled at what she does. This is the best and the most sophisticated dental service that I’ve ever experienced.
I had a root canal performed, and it was virtually painless. Dr. Jay did a 3-D scan of my tooth with a handheld pen, and manufactured the crown on site in about 20 minutes. The whole procedure took under two hours, and there was no pain involved. There was never any need for pain medication after I got home.
If you are looking for the best dental service in the world, this is it.

I have been a patient since 2017 and have always had a positive experience with every visit. The team is professional and caring, the facility is beautifully cared for and the equipment appears to be of the latest technologies. I have been receiving therapeutic injections for the last year and have seen a significant difference on my grinding and the pressure and pain along my jawline. What a team. I normally dread dental work but I can honestly say that Dr. Um and his assistant Paris worked their magic. They skillfully and methodically did a root canal (my first one) and crown in record time. The best part of my experience was not just the cleanliness, state of the art technology, care and concern shown for my comfort and well being. It was pain free!

I’ve been been a patient at Caldwell Dental for nearly 15 years, and I have to admit that I was nervous when Drs. Ty and Susan moved onto their well deserved retirement. After needing some urgent dental assistance though, I find myself in very capable and competent hands with Dr. Mina. The hygienists have always been great as well. Thank you for remaining awesome!!

I had a really bad case.

A molar which was root canalled in 1999 by another dentist had cracked it's crown about 7 years later. I neglected it until approximately 2010 after I moved from Los Angeles County to Orange County and became a Caldwell patient. Dr. Ty and Dr. Sue were still running it.

Dr. Ty did a great job of cleaning up that molar back then, but it had subsequently cracked it's root and finally had to come out in early 2023 after causing a massive amount of infection in the jaw. The Caldwells are now retired and put Dr. Jay and Dr. Mina in their place.

Dr. Jay handled my oral surgery like a champ. When I use the term "surgery", I mean removing bits of brittle, infected tooth and bone bit by bit until clean tissue is left underneath for healing. I wont lie. After it was closed up, it hurt for about a week and a half, and I lost some sleep, but I was always welcome to follow up any time, which I did once. I was given a treatment for "dry socket", and it helped a lot.

A little background on me: I am what they refer to as "asymptomatic". What normally hurts the average patient is usually just an inconvenience for me. That, a busy lifestyle, and a lack of proper insurance is what drove my decisions to wait so long. Caldwell came through for me at what I consider a fair price, and in a case like mine, I don't want just anyone carving and buzzing around on my mandible.

Caldwell is high class care, especially for stubborn cases like mine.

Supplemental entry:
It has been two weeks since my surgery. I still have a way to go to heal completely, but all pain, all chance of any real complication is behind me. I'm sleeping much better than I was even before surgery. The chronic presurgery symptoms are gone, and all that is left now moving forward is daily maintenance.
