The permit process for Adu's is one of the best. Its always good to have communication with staff members that can help with the process instead of 1hr wait time with other city halls just to wait for an automatic answering machine.

Making make reading the permit a requirement? Why give us paperwork and a permit application to fill out if your employees are to lazy to read the application properly? Trying to pull a permit for a spa and I get pool corrections. Told by the permit planner that I need to be more specific On the the plans it even stated spa only.

If you call in for any sort of question, good luck. The automated system routes you around or hangs up on you. There is no way to speak to a human from their phone number.

If i ran my business the way the city operates this department I wouldn't have a business. What a joke. They treat their "Customers" is as if we are all some sort of burden to them. I can get the same permit pulled in 75 cities across Southern California in one, 30 minute visit or even online in a matter of days. This process has taken over 6 weeks! It took 1-day for the same permit through county of LA and count of Riverside is done in less than two weeks.

Instead of processing the whole document and then telling me what documents/info is needed or if something needs to be updated they get to one thing and stop the whole processes and have me fix that one thing, then they start all over again, get another stop and have me fix/change one thing, then start all over again. THE MOST INEFFICIENT PROCESS EVER.

Not to mention multiple times I called in and was told my technician was not in today so no one could help me and no one would be working on my permit application that day.

These employees forget that they are supposed to be working to support the citizens of Riverside. Customer Service is not something they they care at all about.

Please HIRE someone to answer the phone. I’ve been calling for DAYS waiting and listening to the recording for hours! This is ridiculous! Then I drive in, wait for over 30 mins to be told there’s nothing that can be done and I have to wait for online processes to happen. No guarantees. No information. So inefficient!

An over the counter permit that can be pulled in 10 mins at every other city across southern CA takes a month to process through city of riverside. Come on…. Get it together. Even County of riverside allows in person simple permits.

Called to inquire about my permit, got routed to the city of riverside! 🙄

Guaranteed to talk to someone rude who clearly hates their job any time you call.

Can’t register to work in the city as a special inspector because I haven’t been certified for two years. Apparently going through the schooling process and testing on the subject isn’t enough for them but it is for the international council that regulates the industry. A great example of too much red tape.

Wow. I''ve had it with these people over the last decade and NOW they're charging you for calling and asking questions about existing permits that you've already payed for. They add points for every phone call you make to them and they have the nerve to put your job on hold for "fees" that aren't even added into their system so you cant even pay them. Then you get charged AGAIN trying to call them to rectify it. This is so unethical it's not even funny.
