McKay's Family Aftercare Burial and Cremation

If I can give more stars for the amazing costumer service, I would. With the passing of my dad, they took so much ease off of my family. They made the process so smooth.

McKay's Family Aftercare has done a wonderful job with my sister. The time and care they put into her for her final appearance on earth was nothing less than spectacular. My family would like to thank the staff for all of there efforts.

I am writing this review from the bottom of my heart my wife passed away suddenly from a catastrophic stroke without warning at the age of 38 she leaves behind a husband and four adolescent boys. with my world abruptly truned up side down I truly felt helpless and completely compromised the last thing In The world I could do was plan a funeral for the mother of my children and the love of my life. A friend recommended I call McKay's Family after care mortuary when I called I spoke with the owner Who comforted me right off the bat, she set a consultation with her receptionist who express the same compassion for me and my family, Claudette who took care of my wife final arrangements was amazing she treated my wife my self and my family with the highest of dignity, through the viewing the funeral services as well as the repass she was there coordinating and directing everything which in hindsight was exactly what we needed. No one should have to go through the sorrow me and my family is going through but unfortunately it's the harsh reality of life iam just grateful McKay's Family mortuary was there for us and I will for ever be thankful...

Ana was a delight to work with. The process was practically seamless and handled with great care.

Loved the way they treated us like if they have known us for years, I appreciated how they left my mother-in-law’s grandchildren to be part of everything

This is a horrible place to go for your loved one!! I agree with a previous review by Charlie H. We experienced the same thing. The funeral was an absolute nightmare and when we complained NO one would get in contact with us. Emily who was supposed to be there to handle the funeral was no where to be found once the services were rudely interrupted. They claim to help out in your time of grief but they cause more grief and stress!! I would never return to this funeral home again!! They are rude as hell!! They disrespected my father to the fullest extent!! The only time they contacted us was to say the death certificates were in and would we like them to be mailed or go pick them up. We called to pick them up but again got their voicemail. It took them a week to return our calls. They work with riverside national cemetery and the communications between them was also a nightmare!! We were told different things from both parties. Nothing was correct and the whole service was less then 15 min!! Heather, Emily, and McKays you should be ashamed of yourself!! Their way of trying to fix what happened at the funeral was to offer to redo the services. You ruined it already!! I would NOT recommend this place!!!!

This is the worst place you could go soon as they give a absolute mess of a "service" they avoid you when you try to contact for the death certificates, as if you're not going through such a difficult time already. AVOID this place your loved one deserves better. Noncommunicative, takes no accountability, sneaks things on you AT the event. insanely unprofessional.

If i could give this business no stars I would. I would not recommend this aftercare funeral service to my worst enemy. My close friend passed away and the family chose this service to carry out her final arrangements. The opportunity of my friends mother to see her daughter before she was cremated was robbed from her due to the unprofessional ism of this establishment. The owner Mrs. Mckay was never in the office and she is the only person in charge of making decisions. There is nobody put in place to make necessary decisions in her absence. You better make sure every single thing you want is done the very first time you meet and make arrangements because after that you miss the opportunity to place important factors missed before. When there are deaths emotions are high people aren't thinking clearly so it takes a certain level of expertise to help deal with people in those situations. Myself and my cousin paid out of our own pocket for a viewing because the family did not have the money for it. In addition since she had passed not one single person in her family identified or viewed her body due to delays with the mortuary. Her memorial service was on a friday so we wanted to view her before the service if possible. The mortuary had her body two weeks prior to all of this. The week of her memorial we paid on a Wednesday for the viewing and were told we could see her the next daywhich was thurday and friday the latest the day of her service. Once we paid the extra money we were told they would start the embalming process asap. When we called back the next day the embalming had never been started and we were then told we would be able to see her that following monday a whole weekend after her funeral service. The mother was very emotional we tried to help her through it as much as possible we asked if there was a way the embalming could be expedited due to the circumstances. We were told yes but the owner Mrs. Mckay was the only one who had the authority to do so. We got the run around for the next two days because she was never available or in the office. Once friday came it was told to us we would have to receive a refund because they could not deliver on the promise. Had they kept their word and started the embalming immediately like they said this would not have happened. The opportunity to say a final goodbye is priceless so although we were refunded our money the mother will never have the chance to see her daughter one last time. No one in her family saw her or has seen her since she has passed and this is unheard of. especially being that the mortuary said she was in perfect condition to be viewed all she needed was embalming. Do not go here or give them your money run away from this place as fast as you can
