Sherman's Deli & Bakery

This place is always busy and consistently delicious. One of my favorite places at both locations in Palm Desert and Palm Springs. The brisket, pastrami, roast beef sandwiches are my favorite along side a cup of homemade soup. Early dinner specials are wonderful too! This is one place you want to visit and enjoy in either location, whether dining in or take out. They have freshly baked cakes, rugelach, pies, pastry, rye bread (including gluten free) and so much more. Highly recommended!!!

This place came highly recommended by so many people that have been to Palm Springs in the past. It was on my bucket list and did not disappoint whatsoever. Amazing friendly staff, the atmosphere is just right with various pictures hung up throughout of stars that have visited Sherman's over the years.

Let's get to the important part, the damn food, wow wow wow.. I don't know how to explain how plentiful, delicious, and just perfect the food was.

I am normally one to skip desserts, but on this occasion looking at the cakes .. a carrot cake was ordered and was absolutely the best.

Keep in mind when visiting Sherman's, it's a busy spot, but definitely be patient It's worth it.

This is a delightful Delicatessen and bakery. Is often crowded because I assume the food is so good. I had corn beef hash for breakfast, and it was delicious. They have a whole calendar of pastries that look mouthwatering. It appears that most places to eat in this area are a bit more expensive than average. However, this place is certainly competitive and worth for money.

Super friendly waitress, amazing food, and beautiful weather! Our waitress was so helpful and friendly. She helped us choose several dishes to share. The corned beef sandwich was especially good.

My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and everything was fantastic! He had the patty melt on gluten free bread and I had a grilled reuben. I asked my server if he recommended the corned beef or pastrami, and I went with his suggestion of the pastrami and was so glad I did! It was so delicious! We were visiting from out of town and had been here before and was looking forward to coming back. It did not disappoint!

We were in town from Michigan and saw Sherman’s on our way our hotel. We immediately knew we had to eat there. A group of us stopped in for lunch and even though they appeared busy we got seated right away. We were greeted by the amazing dessert case and led to our table. Someone then brought us outstanding homemade pickles and sauerkraut just as you’d get chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants. We then ordered and were all amazed. The table was full of Reuben’s, hot and sour cabbage soup, matzo ball soup, fries, and omelettes. Every bit was devoured. We also ordered dessert to go and the slices were monstrous and the taste amazing! Definitely a must try if you’re in Palm Springs!

Sherman's is the best restaurant in Palm springs I just want to keep coming back. I had the Ruben and the corned beef hash, the best I ever had the pastrami was on another level I wish I could give this place a 10 out of 5. I came to the desert to get dessert but I found myself eating too much pastrami

Just like I remembered in a good way! My grandma used to bring me here as a kid when I would visit her. Now I'm here visiting Palm Springs as an adult & had to introduce my husband & friends to Sherman's deli. I was worried it wouldn't be as good as I remembered, but it was so delicious! And filled my heart with wonderful memories of my visits to PS & my grandma. The staff was friendly & engaging. Amazing service from Oscar! The sandwich was large so my husband & I split it knowing we each wanting our own dessert. We are here for a few days and my husband & traveling friends want to go back before we leave. So that says something. Thank you for filling my heart with more Sherman's Deli memories.

Honestly, Shermans is our go to when we are in the Desert, (love bringing our family and friends here) we don’t get corned beef or matzo ball soup often because it’s hard to find a good, reliable spot in our area! They never disappoint, come at odd times or you will be waiting a while. If they don’t bring you pickles, ask for them. Service always good, portions huge and always a good time being out there (Palm Springs) P.s they don’t serve cottage fries after 11am but the fries were hot and crispy!!

Sherman’s is a Palm Springs institution and continues to deliver outstanding quality, insane portions, and a cheeky kitch persona in the staff they hire.

It’s always a good time but bring your appetite - and the patio is dog friendly! Be prepared to wait if you want to dine-in.

Pro-tip, if you just want the food, order ahead and pick it up (but make sure you don’t accidentally order from the one in Palm Desert)

WOW, what a deli!!
It was SO great, that we ate there twice in 3 days!!
The pastrami reuben (aka Rachel) was AMAZING!!! (Better than the pastrami sandwich that I had at Katz's deli in NYC a couple of months ago).
And I loved the rice pudding!!
Also had the tuna melt which was just OK and my dad had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which was HUGE.
We will definitely go back to Sherman's!!! YUMMMMM 😋😋

Delicious food and huge quantity! The lite lunch 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup or salad was filling enough for me. The pastrami on rye is fantastic and I enjoyed the cabbage soup too.

Pistachio cake is a must have, the best! It was perfect for a group of 6+ for us to have bites of it while some took a slice for later. The chocolate cake was 2x the size and yummy too!

Quick good service and the inside/outdoor space is great. Outdoor patio seating has heaters and would be good for furry animals.

The wait for our group in afternoon (2pm) on Saturday was fairly quick (15mins) in beginning of Dec. Our group enjoyed all the foods we got from French dip, matzo ball soup, etc.

This place never disappoints. It's always so so good. The pastrami melts in your mouth. Excellent food, great atmosphere, excellent service. We always make it a point to hit Sherman's every time we pass through Palm Springs.

We went to Sherman's Deli and Bakery because a waiter from a different restaurant suggested we go there after asking for a dense no flour cake for dessert. I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but I found a rich chocolate dessert to share with my beloved. They have lots of choices, including sandwiches that New York delis have.

The best breakfast spot in Palm Springs. The wait time can be long sometimes during the weekend but it’s well worth it. Everything is very big portions so get ready to eat. They got indoor and outdoor sitting l. The service is always on point. The bakery is soooooo good as well so make sure you get something from there as welll. Meow meow

This dinner destination was everything we needed it to be. The atmosphere is bustling and fun. Thanks to JT for taking such good care of us. The pastrami was beyond good. The dessert selection was massive. Much thanks for super west coast memories.

Great lunch spot when you are downtown. Bring your appetite. Matzo Ball soup is lovely, as was the Pastrami sandwich. Save room for a slice of San Jacinto cake - indulge yourself.

Went to Palm Springs on a Monday and Tuesday and then realized so many things were closed up. Thank goodness for Sherman's. This place was really rated highly and was fantastic. Wish they would open one in Phoenix!

Traditional Jewish deli experience - service and food and atmosphere were all top notch. Wonderful experience and the wait was super short even though there were several groups waiting outside.

We had a group of 8 eat here for lunch. Really feels like a deli in NYC.

Be warned that they do not seat any party without everyone standing there together. Even if a member is in the restroom they won't seat you until they get out. Was a strange "rule".

The food was good and the place was busy. The bakery was also good.

Friendly service and the meals came out quickly.
